I will always be so happy with Judd's work in Power Rangers. The man has come back twice now when Power rangers was in a slump, and although Ninja steel was a bust. I can tell his A game is on all cylinders for Beast Morphers and hopefully the quality can remain consistent after this.
@@RedfurredPikachu I blame the higher ups for most of the things that went wrong with Ninja Steel. Lynn himself has said he wanted to make the show a lot more serious, but he was ordered to do the opposite.
With BM, it seems he's been given a lot more freedom to do what he wants.

From what I heard Saban and the show’s crew treated the cast horribly back in the day... they were severely underpaid (which was why Austin, Walter, and Thuy walked out), they constantly made inappropriate hurtful remarks about David Yost’s homosexuality to the point it drove him to years of depression, and the list goes on and on and on...
I think we need to be clear that it wasn't actually people who were part of Saban Entertainment. It was actually the subcontracted camera crews, etc... and the outsourced companies brought in for production. As far as I know, Haim Saban said he never heard anything about it at the time.

Austin said he could have worked at mccy d's the same exact year he got hired to play in power rangers and got paid the same way. Poor David too. We still love him as our blue ranger and it'd be awesome to see him come back though he is 51. i wont forget how jacked up he was in season 3, the dude worked out. and for the record I haaaate how the show treats Tommy Oliver like he's ranger Jesus. I love JDF as much as the next guy, he's an awesome guy who loves his fans and the ranger gig, but dangit the show was about the team. not just him.

@@EclipseHedgehog I never realized they where under paid. Back then I thought they got paid good. Walter Jones said he wish he would have stayed around for the power ranger movie then quit. Actors actually get paid more doing movies compared to tv so I can see why he would.
I met him at this Con! We bumped into him at a party and he and I had a very nice talk about fighting styles and what not, never really bugged him about the Power Ranger stuff, but he remembered me the next day and we talked a little more. Really cool guy.
What brought him back is that he had a real conversation.
He basically gave the new cast the Cole treatment from Forever Red 😅

Saban is an ego maniac. He even had the nerve to say that Disney had no idea what they were doing when they were making Power Rangers. When in reality Disney Era gave us some of the best Seasons like Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD, Jungle Fury and RPM.

I hate to make this into a rivalry but I've always liked Austin's vibe compared to JDF's. It seems like he's coming from a genuine place as opposed to 1 to someone who wants to be *THE GUY* of the PR franchise.

@Will N Actually, both Amy Jo Johnson and David Yost both have expressed interest in returning (seen it on one of the comic con panels), but only if the show would be shot under union rules, which is sadly still not the case and most likely will never happen...
I would n't count on it. David Yost was harassed for sexual identity and Amy Jo is a family woman now. Maybe one of them can pen it if free, otherwise it's no-go.
I hope Austin st John comes back to be mentor or be ryusoulger red ranger.

Yeah they should, if only all of them were willing to return (at least that's what I assume), but I guess they turned it down for personal but strong reasons: Amy's are because she's busy producing films but she attends some conventions, David's are because he disagrees with Saban because they made fun of him and bullied him since they found out he was gay, Walter's reasons are unknown (at least for me), but I think his reasons are likely the same as Austin's

Haven't watched power rangers since S.P.D. had been watching since the beginning but I think for nostalgias sake I might watch this new series of Power Rangers Jason and Tommy were always my favourite characters so seeing the return of Jason again should be an epic sight.

Anyone else think modern Jason looks like Modern Takeshi Hongo from Kamen rider? He even has some of the same facial expressions and mannerisms in his return episode. (Takeshi Hongo was the first Kamen rider. Video game fans will know him as Segata Sanshiro.

Looking at both sides of the issue, should the cast have been paid more... yes.... however, lets all remember that Power Rangers was supposed to be a one season show, look at what footage that they had that corresponded with its Sentai counterpart, it all used so new Sentai footage had to be made since they weren't going to switch the suits.... not to mention all the monsters additional monsters costumes and the fact that Season 1 Megazord footage was made for season 2 and not used, meant that was wasted money). Let's also factor in that Saban never had a live action show that wasn't a game show last more than one season prior to Power Rangers, so one can only imagine what his reaction was to the production costs.
Knowing just that... yeah Austin and company got screwed, but it was a no-win situation

Met him at NYCC once, didn't know it was him since he was signing autographs as I was talking with the Karan Ashley Jackson she was very pleasant to talk too. It didn't hit me until I finally noticed it was OG red ranger, 'wow it the guy who played Jason the red ranger.' Was I star struck but apparently I caught him on a bad day, the look on his face when his gaze shifted towards me, I'll never forget his impassive look on his face, and the comic con security pressing me to move. What a terrible experience. You know if you never wanted to be famous for being a 'Power Ranger' why sign?
was never a "Jason" fan until he became Gold Ranger... TBH I didn't like any Ranger American Adaptations past Time Force... but I'd actually watch Beast Morphers to see him return. ASJ is the only (living) ranger from the original MMPR lineup I haven't met yet.. hoping to meet him soon so he can sign all of my Gold Ranger stuff lol

I mean, he has to drop EVERYTHING and clear his schedule to fly all the way to New Zealand. The dude isn't a millionaire from being on Power Rangers, he's got a family to feed and a roof to put over their heads.
@@Deoxy360 and unfortunately Saban is a multi millionaire which isn’t fair considering the actors and stunt people and crew worked hard and the show wasn’t union, the cast in 1993 before leaving the show wanted to get the show to be union and it didn’t until lost galaxy. Then Disney bought it and Saban got it back and it was non union again. Sadly
There should be a new movie with the original cast, just sad that Thuy can't be there. But it would probably cash in, original cast with today's CGI.
My only question is... Next year as in 2020 or 2021? I can't wait!!!!

So why did they cut the episode of his debut when beast morphers season 2 trailer dropped and saw him but when he never showed i was sad and pissed like why bring back a OG just to get rid of him and I know he said he can’t say anything but season 2 is over and there’s no news about a 3rd season or a new power rangers show
season 2 isnt over they were on holiday break so the cast and crew filmed what they could then went home for there breaks

It wouldn't make sense for the current cast to have "grown up" watching the original MMPR. The Disney seasons would have been airing when they were born, so either ASJ is lying or whoever said that to him is lying.
Or maybe he's trying to make a funny joke. Why does that part of the video bother so many people lol. It was a harmless joke, he didn't pull a Blake Foster.
It actually makes sense though because even though MMPR started in 1993 it had its reruns in the 2000s especially late 2000s when saban bought back power rangers from Disney
It's good to know he only did it for money and not for the fans. I guess thats why there's another OG Ranger that is more popular.

Deoxy360 I respect his choice but, I do not like the fact that St John has said before that he does things like this for the fans. JDF and others Lije Jsson Faunt have made appearances for little to almost nothing just for the fans. Check it out. My point is, don't say you do it for the fans and yhen complain that you aren't getting a huge payday. He isn't the star of the show and needs to know that he isn't getting paid as such.

I've seen some veteran Rangers on some of my other favorite prime time shows in the past two decades (kind of revealing my true age). There is only one other franchise I love ever bit as much as Power Rangers... and that's Star Trek. And if there is anyone I think I'd want to star, guest star, or even at least have a cameo on a Star Trek series (or film), it'd be ASJ. No....... not necessarily as a RedShirt. lol.

Just seen the episode and ASJ walked on set and instantly raised the calibre of the show... unfortunately the writing for his episode was utterly horrible... PR has always had a habit of bad writing, but this episode did not live up to the hype at all. It's such a shame that PR is such a low budget show, they could really raise its quality if they had a bit more cash to throw at it.

Hey, at least it's better than Neo-Saban. I started out on Megaforce, so I'm biased towards that season, and Beast Morphers is so much better than what we got from Saban these past few years.

@Amazing Spiderman Fan 2002 I actually sort of like Ben & Betty. They're a lot better than Ninja Steel's Victor and Monty. They're at least sincere in their motives and actually *try* to help the Rangers - even if they don't always succeed.

Money wasn't the problem, it's saban, the way how they run the series of their story. Hasbro power rangers has been doing good these days and Austin was liking the script so there's no way he'll pass those opportunity.

Its almost like there's a pattern. Disney gets the PR license and we get the og actors back for awesome crossovers like Forever Red. Saban gets the license back and we get lackluster stuff like "The Great Battle." Hasbro gets the license and we get 1 of the greatest rangers to return.

Not to mention that Beast Morphers has a lot of the dumb tropes from the Neo Saban era and the first episode rehashed a lot of stuff from Neo Saban first episodes. People have deluded themselves into thinking it's better than it actually is just because it has a couple things in common with Dino Charge and RPM even though it's around Super Dino Charge in quality.
