Quite honestly, I want a Power Rangers game in the same style as Dynasty Warriors. Have a massive roster of rangers and villains from all series taking on hordes of enemies all at once.
What I want from a Power Rangers game is good exploration, flashy combat, and epic Zord fights. Until then I consider the "Battle for the grid" to be the closest to the perfect Power Rangers game.
Exploration ? Dude do you even know what the power rangers series actually made good ? Only Martial arts fighting against badguys and Kaiju like Zord-battles. Screw that Open world junk and give a good focused action game instead like devil may cry 5 and add Megazord battles . Boom , there you go ! Depth and action, all in one package !
@@Snyperwolf91 Why can't it have both? In the Power Rangers TV Show the Rangers very much go around and get to do open world stuff all the time. Each dealing with other characters like Bulk and Skull, sometimes individually, or all together, and doing their own thing. Like: Kimberly was into gymnastics Jason taught karate Billy worked on his experiments both as a hobby, and as a way to assist Alpha and Zordon. Trini took karate, looked to save the environment, and played vollyball. Zack also liked to play sports, do his hip hop style karate, go after the girl he liked, etc and later on we saw Tommy, Adam, Aisha, and Rocky all come into the fold and take part in high school karate tournaments. All of this would be great for a video game as a way for each Ranger to level up 1 way or another so that when the time comes, it'll make the chances of defeating Rita and Zeds latest monster that much more do-able...and also because it'll be fun to play out. Heck it would be fun to occasionally be put in control of Bulk and Skull too to experience their shenanigan's like never before too. Have some laughs, and learn as something they accomplish ends up helping the Power Rangers regardless of if they meant to do it or not.
To much missing game. Or, only me that didn't see the list below on this video? Where is snes power rangers? Sega power rangers? Where is lightspeed rescue ps1? Where is time force ps1?
Time Force on PS1 was infinitely better than the gameboy or other versions. They were not mere platform ports, but entirely different games. Something that was regrettably missed in this video.
Yeah it could potentially be game of the year if done right. A game that puts us in control as these teenagers both as their real life goofy/serious, etc selves going through each of their stories individually, and coming together all together, as well as in various combinations just like on the show. Sometimes Tommy and Jason are out and about together, a trio of Billy, Zack and Trini, or 4 of them, 6 of them when Tommys spell is broken, etc. Being able to explore the city. Protect your secret at all cost by going some where hidden any time the communicator alerts you to contact the command center. Take on the Putties in the Park just like in the show. Deal with the monsters, and just hang out at the different places like the juice bar. Learn new things. Theres so much from the show that can easily be a great video game experience... but yeah. For whatever reason no top company has tried to pull this off. I'll never understand this.
So far there's only 6 (the two Game Gear games, the 3 SNES games, and the 1 Sega Genesis game), everything else were bad to garbage level of mediocrity.

Couldn't my uncle have bought me the SNES, MD or GG version instead? Each one is better lol. There was one on SNES where first you would fight as the people but then you could hit the button to morph once u had enough energy. I think y’all forgot that one
No they had it in there, they just showed the crsppy GB version instead of the SNES version and only listed the SNES. They did that for a few games and I have no idea why? Like, why show the worst platform versions of the games?
That one you mention is Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the Movie game, even though that's what it's called the game had nothing to do with the movie and was based on season 2 after the Serpenterra episode all the way to before Lord Zedd married Rita. Ivan Ooze was the final boss but he was merely included in the game to promote the movie. There were no zord fights in that game either.
@@VOAN No, it was on the OG MMPR game too. I know because I only ever had the OG version on SNES and didn't play the "movie" version until years later. Both of them had that feature, and they're the only two (which I can remember) which allowed you to play unmorphed first, and then morph into a ranger.

I remember playing that power rangers the machine empire game, I was so young. It happened a long time ago, it even felt that it was just a dream. Im almost in tears
the old power ranger games on the SNES were really hard. I remember I couldn't beat any of them because we didn't have infinite continues like we do now!
The Game Gear titles were great. Easily some of the best Fighters on the platform. Considering the limitations of the system, it's cool how they still went about giving that Beat 'em Up feel to the single-player. Controls were very easy to learn too, and it seems like the Game Gear title's control scheme was inspiration for the Battle for the Grid control scheme. They all used the same "easy to learn, hard to master" principal of common inputs for special moves, but with different effects depending on your character. Always liked that kind of control scheme (and it obviously hit it big with Super Smash Bros). MMPR The Movie on Mega Drive was also quite good. That was one that you could see must have had devs who were actual fans of the show. Lots of attention to detail. Super Legends and SNES Fighting Edition were both decent enough too. Shame the rest of the Power Ranger's video game library is all a bit mediocre (or worse), and too often comes across as generic game with Power Rangers skin, rather than as a game built from the ground up to be about the Power Rangers. At least until Battle for Grid, which is great, but I really could do with an official Power Rangers game now that is both something decent and a bit more open at this point (not saying we need an open world game, just something with a bit more stage progression like a decent beat 'em up or an action adventure game, rather than yet another fighter).
@@gantz22ify I mentioned The Fighting Edition. The original MMPR SNES was decent, but did suffer from that "could be any game with a Power Rangers skin" feel I mentioned. Took very little of its sound track, or even the visuals, from the show (hope you like 'roided Pink Red Ranger skin for Kimberley). Very little attention to detail, unlike the Sega titles. SNES MMPR Movie and Zeo Battle Racers were "meh" at best IMO. Movie edition SNES felt like a step back from the original MMPR SNES, with over simplified one-hit combat, and suffered from "any game with a Power Rangers skin" visuals and soundtrack even more (no Zord fights, for example). And Zeo Battle Racers was about as competent-but-nothing-special-Mario-Kart ripoff as you can get. The biggest things with that SNES titles (except for Fighting Edition) can be summarised by "developers never watched the show".That's what it feels like.
@@KotCR The Super NES games all had that Power Rangers charm way better than the Genesis titles. The Fighting Edition was way more fun than the Genesis one. The only thing that disappoint was the MMPR movie game for Super NES which wasn't based on the movie at all but was strictly based on MMPR season 2 after the original group left. Ivan Ooze was included in the game as a marketing ploy. While I do like the Genesis movie game, I didn't like how they try to shoehorn in season 2 with the movie, the movie itself was not canon to the show. Both games did not feature any zord fights which is lame. The Sega CD MMPR game was hot FMV garbage, the Game Gear games were decent boss rush battle monster of the day fun. It's basically a MMPR survival mode game. The Game Boy ones were okay but not as fun. The Genesis MMPR is a lame fighting game and had some cool monsters and zords in it but the fighting engine is too barebone and fight mechanics is too wonky. I like that they try to incorporate a lot of the rules (zords can't fight rangers, players can't pick the same rangers, Evil Green Ranger can't fight Good Green Ranger, etc.) from the show into the game but they forgot the very important part of a game, make it fun and the game was not fun at all. The Super NES MMPR game was quite good, had good boss fight and two zord fights at the end but it was mostly based on a monster of the day level basis and it doesn't include the green ranger at all, not even during the Mutitus fight which in the show green ranger was a part of at the time. Every Power Rangers games from Zeo to Lightspeed were terrible. Zeo try to do other things like pinball and racing and it just doesn't feel like Power Rangers at all, you're suppose to be saving the world from the Machine Empire, but nope you're just gambling and playing go karts instead.
It wasn't great. But I loved the snes mmpr game back in the day. But they should seriously do an open world style power ranger game with the mighty morphin power Rangers. Make it have missions and a storyline. You go around and have fun like an open world Game but all of a sudden... The communicator beeps and zordon summons you to the command centre to fight random Villains. That would be insane.
If they were to make a Power Rangers game today, they should do it in the form of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Where you pick 4 rangers out of a wide variety from over the years. THAT'S the kind of Power Ranger game we deserve.
Agreed, I'd say a combination of Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Xmen Legends. Sometimes putting you in control of the whole team, and either one of them by themselves facing something they need to get through alone, or a combination of any of the Rangers either in 3's 4, and of course 5 before Tommy is unlocked. They could even go the comic route by having Jason, Trini and Zack return as the Omega Rangers. Thats much better for a game than just having them go to some peace core or whatever it was called anyway.
The Sega CD one looks like it was groundbreaking and badass back then.. My favorite is still the one for super nintendo. The non movie non zord one. Its still good.
The world is due for a new power rangers game where you can free roam the city and do missions morph when needed and summon zords.
I say they should do a Power Rangers game like they did Spider-man Ps4
With Hasbro running it we are bound to get one
I also want absolutely superb badass graphics and extra violence. Maybe not blood, but maybe neck snapping and arm breaking action

The SNES Power Rangers games were good too, and had excellent music.
Played PR time force and wild force in my psp miss those times
You forgot power rangers the movie game on Sega
The good version of that game, right?
The Sega CD one looks like it was groundbreaking and badass back then.. My favorite is still the one for super nintendo. The non movie non zord one. Its still good.
