Freeform uses the same artist in their tv series. The scenes fit so well with the song. The directors and editors have done a great job!
Freeform doesn't know shit. It's the music directors of the shows, and I'm sure the same people do multiple shows for the same network. Ever notice how shows with mainstream viewers always have really indie songs? Commercials too? These guys often know their shit even if the viewers are clueless.

There's that sense of being on the precipice, on the verge of something...on the one side is safety and a sense of security and on the other is there's a steep valley of doom. The speaker doesn't want to be woken from the daydream but also states that she is caught in it, however, if released, all hell would break loose!
