Oh my gosh! I thoroughly enjoyed both parts of these Wooly Wednesday shows for making a Fairy Mushroom! I might watch them again at some point to make certain I remember everything you showed us Marie. I fell yesterday on our brick sidewalk, right on both knees...yes I am a klutz. But since I'm laid up I am starting right now on my Mushroom Fairy house. One bonus to being injured, lol!!! I just love your videos and tutorials so very much. Thank you for being so patient and generous with your time.
Here is an alternative way to make the frilly underside that worked for me: Cut a piece twice as wide as you need from the edge in, and make it long enough to go one and a third times around the top of the base. fold it in half long ways and cut thin strips into the middle but not all the way. Start attaching the uncut edges together onto the top of the stem deeply, in ray type lines going from the center halfway out, a bit at a time, this will use more than just the diameter of the stem top...If you have too much extra left over you can trim it. Now deeply felt the folded ends of the strips onto the bottom of the top. I comes out really lacy, with a solid termination on the tips because of the fold. This makes for a neat edge that you can really affix to the top rim.
This fairy mushroom house is the best! Thank you for your tutorial and I will definitely be making some of these. The possibilities are endless on how you can decorate these fairy houses. So much fun!!!🧚♀️🧚♂️🐇🦔
Oh I didn't realize you decided to have a give away. Darn it 😁 I was sitting up nodding off. I got the COVID . I tend to be sitting up and nodding off asleep. Oh it drives my hubby nuts.😅 Hey I can't help it. It would make my day to win felt , of course. I'd prefer that over flowers when I don't feel good.😂😂
Thank you for this question, Dizzy! In regards to "regular" roving... in truth, many of us (producers) call TOP and SLIVER "roving"...because people think all of "that" is "roving" and they come to us looking for "roving" .... TOP AND SLIVER have all the fibers going in the same direction...they are combed preparations. I shared this "confession" on one video where I explained the different types of fiber preparations. Also different "true" rovings will vary in how they look depending on the fiber. A longer, straighter fiber may appear to be going more in one direction than a crimpy, short fiber like our CW-1. *****With all that said :) .... a "roving" is made on the same carding machine as a batt...however it then gets split off into a long strip that is called "roving"...instead of coming off whole in batt form.
Ha ha yea the gill did look complicated until you explained it.they are cute. I just started a month ago I feel like I'm getting a little better not much though. I have to look on the internet for inspiration I just don't have an imagination.

@@LivingFelt have you ever added glass metal or polly pellets to your crafts? I have seen where people add wieght but I see not tutorial would I just put it in something and felt around it?
Hi Julie...YES! Last year we wet felted gnomes, and I shared something to that effect --- I put glass rocks and rice in a bag and stuffed it. For needle felted Items, I did much the same, but put them in a small stocking, wrap with wool around, and then felt around that. A few of our friends shared that they use fishing weights.
So many wonderful options! Not gonna lie … I gasped when Marie cut that beautifully felted mushroom core top 😂
Hi from Paisley Scotland
Still binge watching. My mom would have loved these mushrooms so much!

Love making these little fellas.
Thank you for this tutorial Marie. My first mushroom was needle felted, now I feel more confident to make a wet felted mushroom cap.
You make it look so easy
You are very kind...just relax and HAVE FUN! :)
Hi i'm from Wisconsin
😍😍😍😍
Is the core wool roving .... All bushed in one direction like regular roving or is it the same as the batting but in a rope form ?
