Smite 2 is their sole focus now so I think it’ll last if people don’t boycott the game

Smite 1, Paladins and Rogue company are the games that are no longer going to be updated (theyll be keeping the servers up for as long as they can tho) because theyre going to be putting all their focus on Smite 2. Smite 2 isnt the one thats gonna be getting shut down anytime soon
This is what everyone is missing. They aren't shutting down just no longer being supported. Go play the old ones but smite 2 is their primary focus.
When you lay off the main designers and pretty much all your esports, community, and UI departments for Smite 1, to focus on a game that's the exact same game but UE5 instead of UE3, you kinda killed the new game already. They should've done what GGG did for Path of Exile 2 and move that talent to work on the sequel game so they actually get the end product they want and not this odd stuff. Case in point, less than TWO WEEKS into Smite 2, they already had to disable Thanatos for days because of bugs. Bugs that weren't even difficult to fix, the new team just didn't have the work done on Thanatos to know how to code him properly. And that's one thats pretty much exactly the same in Smite 2.
idk where u got the info that smite 2 was closing down. They closed everything else and put all their resources into smite 2 on the contrary.

@@OraeviaYT Aggro and Lermy aren't the only main designers, there are many more in the team still, you saw more of those 2 because they were very often on the patch notes

The amount of reused assets is insane. This was the time to revolutionize this time again, but I guess DEADLOCK will be doing that.
I'm pretty confident in SMITE 2's continual existence. If you would've asked any gamer about "that old third person moba game about gods, smite?" they'd say "oh yeahhh Jontron made a video about it... yikes."
but at no point in that game's lifetime were you not able to queue into any mode and get in within like 90 seconds. A silent but deadly fart of a community smite is.
For those dooming smite, steam concurrent hasn't been hit that hard, maybe 1k off the top, meaning console is probably sitting at 15,000 which puts the game at 25k concurrently at least, thats still good for smite. Also the devs went to twitter yesterday stating that the number they were cut down to was sustainable with their revenue income, plus their confident they can still make Smite 2 amazing with a leaner team.
Yeah just like they managed to perfectly port Thanatos over and definitely didn't have to disable a copy/paste of a god for several days, right?

That being said, expecting perfection out of hirez is crazy, and not only that, the pessimism tells me that you dont care about everyone else left at hirez and would rather see the company sink, than support those whom are left and be with those laid off in wanting to see Smite 2 succeed. Smite 2 isn't going to shut down. There is more then 450 people working at high rez. 20 odd of them got cut back the majority of them being esports related. we lost like 2 actual developers. But none of which worked on smite 2 and were instead maintaining Smite 1 and other games like paladins

HiRez already said Smite 1 wasn’t going to receive major updates and Paladins has been a dead game for years now. Both of those games have nothing to do with the future of Smite 2.

Myth Smite 2 is going no where nor is Smite or Paladins for the time being they are just no longer getting any support, content or updates. All focus is on Smite 2 which means it'll get more content at a faster pace/all the attention as its there main priority so Smite 2 is here to stay they just weren't making any money as alot of players are still waiting for there gods or other stuff missing then they were also spread thin between essentially 3 dead games so they dropped 2, the employees maintaining them and esports employees. To put all the resources and manpower into Smite 2 hoping they will start making money again which i assume they haven't since they announce Smite 2 which killed Smite

Mythy is confused. Recently they announced Smite 1 and paladins (and one other of their) are no longer going to be getting updates but they'll be keeping the servers up for people for as long as they can. I think myth confused it and took it as smite 2 will be going down too but they are rather focusing all their effort on smite 2 and dropped other games (which still sucks)
@@Rose-Badwolf Which, if you ask me, should've been done a good while ago. They should've focused all their effort on smite 2 from the get-go if they were planning on dropping everything else anyway, the game definitely could have used that extra workforce in it's early stages of life. It's a bit unfortunate, yeah, but it's just the right decision for them.
Not sure if the e-sports scene for smite 2 will revive for a long time, with how many people they laid off in that regard, though. My heart does also go out to those who worked hard for smite 2 to only get laid off soon afterwards, they've been putting out some good work. Sad to see them go. I guess only the future will tell with how smite 2 goes from here, but the layoffs have definitely been concerning. Hopefully they get some good income in and get the boat sailing, perhaps start expanding the team again once they get back on their feet. Hopefully the battle pass helps. Or, of course, stew could fuck it all up, which he's shown he is capable of in the past. It's a foggy horizon for the game, if you ask me. Still, I pray for it's success, for the sake of those who worked on the game with passion. I want to see their work succeed.

Hi Rez stopped updating Smite 1 (which was going to happen regardless) and Paladins (a dead OW ripoff) and they also laid off some of their employees. None of these change Smite 2
Still doing well with over 20k concurrent players.

It’s not closing down, people are just very stupid and have no idea what’s going on right now. They stopped updating SMITE 1 and PALADINS, 2 games that were bound to stop getting updates for years now
