I take it that you used 3 PNGs with transparencies using photoshop or related software (HTML5 & CSS3). The sky background slowly scrolls up. The mountain background zooms in, and the person picture zooms in and also slowly scrolls up. These three are layered, sky is layer 1, mountain is layer 2, and person is layer 3. Using the Z-axis, you can create the layering effect by giving different values to the pictures. I may try this out to see if I can do something similar, but with more layers and different entry and exit effects (possibly with JavaScript...). Thank you for posting.
