- When a magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit southwestern China on August 20, local residents rushed to protect their loved ones, including parents who shielded their children with their bodies and a husband whose first thought was to check on his wife.

Here in California we have earthquake drills ever since we were a young kid in school. We all go under the table
Most Chinese buildings are made using reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac) which has a 30 year lifespan before it comes crashing down.

The nyc and nj area had an earthquake on april 5, 2024. I think it was the strongest one I remember.
We also had an earthquake Aug. 23, 2011. It was around lunchtime. I was in a store when it happened.

Reminds me of the Iraqi parents who laid over their children, trying and jet failing to shield them from US Marine's slaughter raid of the civiians in their homes
