A hint: You don't have to move the pipper to the intercept angle of 2.5deg, but you can use that small x which is right there on the net. Else a fine tutorial 👍
Fantastic. I've been trying to get past a mission which requires use of Groms but the default training just wasn't helping. For a start, I had no idea why my pipper didn't move in the mission when it did in the tutorial (realistic setting, I learned from this), plus the technique described was pretty vague and possibly out of date. Anyway, it almost never worked - no matter how much I tried to compensate, the missile would drop short. Thanks to this tute I'm sinking ships like there's no tomorrow! I was about to give up, much as I have done for the Harrier IRMavs... hang on, I'll have to check to see if Heinlein has an AV8B tutorial or two :D
Hey, Heinlein. I remember reading somewhere the pipper should be 1.5 degrees below the horizon rather than 2.5 degrees. Is that why the first missile hit below the boat? Thanks for the tutorials, man!
not sure but I believe thats an old method for a previous version. The reason I missed was because I dipped the nose a bit when I locked the beam. On the aiming net you can also see there is a little x mark on the 2.5 mark that you can also use for aiming but I prefer using the pipper as it's easier to see. If you put it at 1.5 degrees the missile will certainly hit way short of the target
