I have a gift for you! 😊 It's a free Affinity Photo course that will teach you 10 simple steps to make any photo amazing. I hope you love it! affinity.sale/10-steps
Hello, Would be grateful if you could help... Right now, I am using Affinity Photo and Filmora (video editor) on an all-in-one PC (ie, not made for graphics). I am planning to switch to a better PC made for graphics, as this one crashes every time i open any such software. In the future, I MIGHT switch to Adobe Creative Cloud and so, keeping that in mind the load it might put on the system, could you kindly suggest me which PC/CPU is ideal for this? Thank you!
Good video I really learn a lot from you guys I am still having no luck on adding a background photo of clouds For my anniversary gift I told her I’d be a little late making it still having trouble with it.
Combining multiple photos can be tricky to do. 😕 You can ask for tips/feedback on the Affinity forums. There are a lot of helpful people there. forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/5-affinity-on-desktop-questions-mac-and-windows/
A great tutorial. I just used this technique on a picture of my granddaughter and it looks fantastic. I then discovered I could bump up the saturation afterward in the HSL adjustment and now I have a dramatic coloured portrait with a black surrounding.
Very nice. You can save on painting the border by using the rectangle tool, drawing a rectangle over the canvas, make it black and then pull this rectangle below the image layer
Look nice. I want to try this. I brought the affinity Bundle (Window Version). How am I going to link the 3 (Photo, Publisher and Designer) into 1 software. I saw you switch easily with the 3 software with 1 click. How do you do that?
If you are in Publisher, you can switch between the 3 programs by using the Persona icons at the top left. If you are in Affinity Photo, you can go to Edit --> Edit in Designer.
Great Tutorial - why did you choose to use HSL and turning down the saturation over the Accurate B&W adjustment method as in in one of your previous videos?
An HSL desaturates photos perfectly fine, but unlike a B&W adjustment, you aren't able to artistically change how bright or dark each color becomes. But since we used Curves to effect how bright/dark the photo become, an HSL worked fine for this effect. I hope that helps! 😊
Sorry, I'm not sure. I'd try asking on the official Affinity forums: forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/5-affinity-on-desktop-questions-mac-and-windows/

Excellent tutorial! I prefer without the gray curve adjustment.
I think it looks great without the curves also. I just wanted to give people options. 😊
This is a truly excellent tutorial and yields great results. Strongly recommended for anyone contemplating a black and white portrait.

Say, how do you show the keystrokes on your screen as you are working? That's pretty cool.
I use a program called KeyCastr. It's a free app for Macs! If you have a PC, here are some other options: alternativeto.net/software/keycastr/
@@AffinityRevolution Thanjs, that’s really neat.
Hello, I have a question will Affinity Photo soon have an addon for painting onto 3D models if not can you please contact the makers of the software?
I don't think they are going to add that feature, sorry!

Can anyone recommend any film boarders/strips for use in Affinity Photo, 35mm/6X6/6X9/5X4, etc., or better still 2.4:1, just asking?
Sorry, I'm not sure. I'd try asking on the official Affinity forums: forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/5-affinity-on-desktop-questions-mac-and-windows/

Great video ! Do you use the raw file to start with or do another format ?
This file was started with a JPEG. But if I have a Raw file, I'll use that. 🙂
