Oh man I need one of those pink Anderton's crewnecks... and that Laney Cub! I always seem to forget about Laney but every time I hear them I'm impressed as hell with the tones they offer for the money. I need to just nut up and get one.
I own the Slo and it's a great verb pedal.Does normal to crazy and everything in between.I also have the black country tc-85 and it's one of the best octave peds ever.
I love Laney! I only live about half a mile away from Steelpark Road where their office is. They make some great amps. The Ironheart in particular is incredible.
I own both the steelpark and the monolith. Fantastic sounding pedals with stunning build quality. The magic really happens when you stack them together. I hop e the la30bl gets back in stock soon!
Well you seem to be in luck as we've got a livestream later on this evening dedicated to these pedals. Make sure to tune is as we've got an exclusive discount going up throughout the stream. Good timing if you're interested in one of these pedals!
Agree... When they were hitting the trade shows hard at that time, they had some great bands and artists, and made Marshalls sound like biscuit tins. Great depth, volume with clarity, and tone.
Just to be clear..... Laney are based in a place called Halesowen which IS very much in the black country..... Halesowen is near Birmingham but Birmingham is NOT part of the black country.
How great is that Epiphone R9? I am so glad that I was able to track one down. I started looking as soon as I saw the reveal on your channel's NAMM coverage from last year and it was well worth the effort.
I have the TI Boost and the Secret Path. The TI Boost is a great treble booster that also offers a great transparent boost/drive. The Secret Path is fun to play with.
I’ve had my Steelpark for a while but I’m selling it as I just love ThorpyFX Heavy Water. Great pedal though, but I’ve just found the right boost for me 🙌
Oh, and I bought a TI boost from you guys kind of on a whim.....but.... it turns out it's actually really good! I find it really useful to get the tones I want. I run the volume and treble all the way up, the mid switch in the up position and the bass on about 2. Absolutely love it! Prefer it to a tube screamer pedal, although if I were to criticise it, the built in drive is quite noisy, I've tried it with the battery and on my power supply and it's the same, but I didn't buy it for that so I'm really not that bothered.
Why is the Tony Iommi Boost not in the video? I have one and it's fantastic. Very versatile and sounds awesome! We'll worth the almost 5 months I waited for it.
It is very good. I think the Chase Bliss/Meris CXE 1978 Reverb is just as good or potentially better. The faders give you so much control over the sound. I have both automatones and don’t regret buying either and usually I wind up selling expensive pedals that are over hyped but those two are serious feats of engineering. But the UA are also as good as it gets. I’m starting see the US Starlight delay on a lot of boards including Pete’s and on TPS.
Got a TI Boost last year, it's pretty nice. Tons of clean boost, good mid-shaping options. It was hard to find -- their distribution in Canada is poor. (A tiny distributor waaaay up in Northern Ontario was the nearest dealer I could find.)
I have a question for all of you… Does anybody play a Boss Katana 50 anymore?? Or did I get taken for a ride 2018?… Super Cub series is looking like in my future ...Anybody has a Super Cub please sound off in the reply section… I am so bored with the Boss Katana.. thank you, I would appreciate input..Take care everyone😀
Still love the Katana. Then again, I haven't become tired of my Laney LC15R in 25 years...very similar to the Cub 15. I also had an extension cab output installed which I hope the new Cubs come with stock.
That’s a good thing if you’re playing outside but not inside. An attenuator or the Power Soak invented by the lead guitarist of Boston, Tom Scholz, which is an attenuator also but since he is a genius who went to MIT, amazing guitarist, wrote all those killer tunes and invented a lot of gear like the Rockman which Def Leppard used on their albums, I always separate him into his own league.
Came here to say the same thing! Birmingham is not the Black Country. Peaky Blinders is Birmingham, not the Black Country…. Laney is the Black Country, home of their new pedal, “The Bostin’ Boost”. These Londoners eh? ;-)
I've heard that the steelpark is based on Laney's Tony Iommi boost pedal, which he helped design. I know nothing about the local geography, but my vague recollection is that Iommi is 'from there', whether that's the Black Country or a place called Steel Park. Anyway I want one. Jon at Sonic Drive Studios uses a Steelpark in almost all of his many many amp comparison videos, when he gets to the metal part of his comparison.
@@LosTroopos its sounds sweet, i have been looking for a buffered boost that can saturate gain nicely... was thinking of the keeley buffered boosts though
@@personalfreedom2700 this might be worth checking out then. It has the "best" impedance values listed in the manual, aswell. So there shouldn't be any tone suck. Thinking of getting this one, too.

10:45 “I don’t think you want too much modulation on your reverb”. Walrus Audio laughing in Slö......

Lee Wraithe is an absolute gentleman and a monsterous player!!! Can't wait thanks Cap!!!!!!
It's going to be a great stream!
I have the Steel Park, got it for £30 on Ebay and it is simply awesome
Do you still use it?
I got my secret path a fair old while ago and I love it. got lost for hours just messing around with it absolutely fantastic bit of kit
I own both the steelpark and the monolith. Fantastic sounding pedals with stunning build quality. The magic really happens when you stack them together. I hop e the la30bl gets back in stock soon!
I was just looking into this pedal series today... (out of curiosity to make a wishlist)
It's like you guys read my mind!! 🤨🤯

Some of the heaviest shows I’ve ever been to were powered by Laney. Freaking killer 100w heads at least. This was the late 90s early 2000s.
Agree... When they were hitting the trade shows hard at that time, they had some great bands and artists, and made Marshalls sound like biscuit tins. Great depth, volume with clarity, and tone.
Just to be clear.....

Roasted necks seem to be the new rage. I see them popping up more and more.
Not that new, it's been a couple years
I love my Cub and VC30.
The Big 30W Black Country Customs head & cab should come as a combo.
I’m not very familiar with Laney products, so this gives me a great introduction to what they produce.
Make sure to tune into the Livestream later. We will have a few special guests taking everyone through why they choose Laney products!
Laney were friendly with Led Zep guys who used Laney at the beginning. And Plant used them on solo projects.
How great is that Epiphone R9? I am so glad that I was able to track one down. I started looking as soon as I saw the reveal on your channel's NAMM coverage from last year and it was well worth the effort.
You can't just sneak the Epiphone 1959 in there like that and not do a proper review and/or shoot out with its Gibson custom shop cousins.
We will get a video out comparing it soon don't worry ;)
I have the TI Boost and the Secret Path. The TI Boost is a great treble booster that also offers a great transparent boost/drive. The Secret Path is fun to play with.
Would love to see a comparison of the TI Boost and Steelpark
That intro was a bit of Petey Hendrix if you ask me. Love it

The funny thing is that Camplifire is actually a thing. It's a power amp. Many people seem to use it with an unpowered Kemper.
You can have my GH100L, when you pry it from my cold dead hands! :) Laney Rocks, cheers to Roger & Simon @ Laney as well!
great video. I like the tenths marks they have on the knobs. So you can set the depth at 5 and 1/10:)
Why is the Tony Iommi Boost not in the video? I have one and it's fantastic. Very versatile and sounds awesome! We'll worth the almost 5 months I waited for it.
That little cub peaks my interst
It's a great little valve amp! Worth having a look into. | www.andertons.co.uk/laney-cub-supertop-15w-valve-amp-head
@Danish Pete. Every time I hear the Andy Summers riff I want to hear a Summers version of Ain't Talkin Bout Love...
Isn’t the reverb built into the amp the same as the pedal?
Gorgeous @PETE gotta tell us what boots you have on here, digging em! Seen you wear em before too
No one does it better than Pete!
Omg that Ibanez AZ 😍🤤 so much want!
UA Golden Reverberator is the best reverb available 😀
shame it's very expensive tho :(

I’m super curious. Where abouts?
Hey Pete! What are those shoes? I want them!
Spiral Array.... a subtle nod to a Mr. Lifeson?
They sound 👌
Better looking amp for that money? The previous model :)
Su una Benton Stratocaster per ottenere il suono dei Black sabbath quali pedali e setup consigliate? E quali corde?
Hmmmm. Somebody at Laney is a big fan of Earthquaker devices....
Pete has the best tones ever

Simple answer…Yes.
This amp looks to be a total bargain. I’m very tempted.
I have one, gigged with it, sounds awesome!
It's a tube amp. Vintage real guitar sound, I have the same head but my gabinet has 50w not 100 like the video but its a beatiful warm sound
You might recognize Birmingham from Peaky Blinders... nevermind Black Sabbath and Judas Priest! 🤣
I see Ibanez AZ I likey
I sold my monolith cause it had so much volume I couldnt use it with my pedalboard in a good way.

Not a fan of their pedals but the amps are great
My best mate was a Lee I called him hey Lee or oi Lee
Your Black Country explanation is a bit "creative".

Birmingham is not in the black country gents . different county.

They have a tony iommi signature pedal too which is a treble booster with a EQ section.
Their office is on Steelpark Rd in halesowen.
@@braddersthemod I think I’m right in saying that whole area would have been where the Coombs Wood steel plant was hence Steel Park Road.
Does the boost have a buffer?
According to the manual "transparent fully buffered operation at all times"... So i'd guess it's a buffered bypass.
The pedal does have a buffer. You can find out more information here : www.andertons.co.uk/laney-black-country-customs-steel-park-pedal

Loved my laney cub. A great little valve combo and pedal
Platform. Recommended by Bjorn from @gilmourish. Simply wonderful and tremendous value. 💕🌈🌞
Pete what guitar did you win for wearing the ladies sweat shirt? 😂😂😂😂😱 Respect and stay healthy all.
Cablifier eh?
Not a fan of the takeover series. Cheeeeeesy marketing.
