thanks … wanted to make sure our radio audience could “see” everything as it all played it definitely wasn’t easy, given that there was no way to tell what would happen next … or if/when play would resume
It started with accusations of in-game cheating by the Tri-City Valley Cats' manager, who happened to be former MLB player Pete Incaviglia. Incaviglia accused the New York Boulders' team of stealing signs using the centerfield video camera, so the instructions were to turn off that particular camera. That is what started it. What this then picks up was the 1st-base Umpire Warren Nicholson ordered someone in the Boulders' dugout to turn off a league-approved tablet - I guess like an iPad or a Microsoft Surface - that players use to study how plays evolve. The league approves of the tablets because they are supposed to show parts of the game that have already taken place, not what IS taking or is ABOUT to take place, and no one can accuse anyone of cheating then. But Nicholson wanted the tablet to be remove from the dugout, and the argument between Nicholson and Tucker ensued.....

I started playing baseball when I was five years old here I am 73 years old almost 74 and I have never seen an ump ejected from the game. This is what they need to do to Angel Hernandez. What a bum that guy is. Hernandez needs to be permanently reassigned to the minors or he can’t do too much damage. Wow exciting
Ejection in the bottom of the 1st & neither team fired up at each other? Sounds like someone was having a bad day. Ump advice: let the game play & if a field or a player has quirks or issues that aren’t bothering the other team, don’t let it bother you! Let the game keep playing.
First of all. The umpire did make light contact with the player. When the umpire got rejected. All I could see was Steve Harvey's skit about a black man being fired. Pointing and getting very animated. Check it out. Very funny
I find it hard to believe this was all over the use of an iPad. They said the ump and player had words a previous game. That Tucker kid got ejected (just after striking out) and remained on the field, chasing after the ump. And the ump was about as mad as I’ve ever seen one. To the point where someone called the crew and made the umpire leave the game. The Tucker guy who got ejected never even left the field. No matter what the reason is, if you get ejected you’re gone. You don’t get to stand around causing chaos for 20 minutes after. I’m pretty sure this is a “fuck Tucker” situation. He just looks like he’d be annoying.
You still don't get to punch him in the gut. And you definitely don't need to start jumping in everyone's faces while they're not even talking to you. He should have let the home plate ump handle it. Instead, he kept escalating and making things worse for his own crewmate who was trying to regain control of the situation, but failing because of the first base ump undermining him. Ump had to go.
He didn’t even stay around for that long before being hit in the gut… this video is only over 20 minutes because the ump lost his shit and caused problems

A player punches an umpire he's suspended for at least a year, if not the rest of his life.
I guess umpires have a different standard put on them and are just removed from the game where they assaulted a player and that's it.
Sounds kind of like law enforcement doesn’t it?
Assault a player?! What are you talking about?!
What video were you watching, because this one has the umpire swinging around and gut punching the player while the other umpire tries to hold him back
@@lukestuningshop8467 sounds racist to me is that you
Kinda random but I was so confused at first when the camera pans to the dugout cuz I was like “Why are all their jerseys different? It it an all-star game?” Then I felt dumb once I realised they’re wearing the negro leagues jerseys on Jackie Robinson day lol
At least you realized it. Many people didn't.
“#42 seems to be incensed with the umpire tossing #42, who then is being held back by #42”
Great announcer
Wow, Never seen that before
I worked baseball for over 30 years and I never saw an umpire loose his shit like this. He was totally wrong in touching the manager and should have been sat down form at least a month. There is just no excuse for this action by any official in any sport. To be a good official one has to have their self together no matter what is going on around them...
Announcer has a future in calling boxing matches if the baseball thing dosnt work out.
🙏
does he have the right epidermis shade or part between legs?
Great call by game announcer!
thanks … wanted to make sure our radio audience could “see” everything as it all played it
definitely wasn’t easy, given that there was no way to tell what would happen next … or if/when play would resume
Is every in the league/game number 42?
it was a salute to the negro leagues day (had been postponed a few weeks earlier)
Jackie Robinson's number when he was called up by the Brooklyn Dodgers.
So just exactly what went down
It started with accusations of in-game cheating by the Tri-City Valley Cats' manager, who happened to be former MLB player Pete Incaviglia.
Ump Nicholson on Nathans is vastly considered a hate crime
more exciting than the actual game.... why did the ump punch the player in the stomach?! Pretty sleezy move there... 42 really had a lot to say too!
THAT is a true "Walk of Shame."
Thanks, you burnt up 24 minutes and didn't give us the final outcome. could have cut to that point. It is like leaving the ball game tied at the top of the 9th, don't know how it ended and why.
the full episode played out over 60+ minutes … i’ve tried several times to upload the full video, but it’s not working
you can find on flobaseball … aug 27, 2023 … boulders vs tri-city
They waited for another umpire to come in, and after 61 minute delay, they played the rest of the game.
Can someone explain why they are each wearing different uniforms? I know about the 42 part.
Wow exciting
i believed Umpires are not allowed to make contact
Wow that stadium is packed huh?
Nicholson obviously has anger issues and should not be in an ump role. Hopefully he's done in this position.
Ejection in the bottom of the 1st & neither team fired up at each other? Sounds like someone was having a bad day. Ump advice: let the game play & if a field or a player has quirks or issues that aren’t bothering the other team, don’t let it bother you! Let the game keep playing.
how many different jerseys is the one team wearing.
who's on first?😂 GREAT COMMENTARY! 👊
First of all. The umpire did make light contact with the player. When the umpire got rejected. All I could see was Steve Harvey's skit about a black man being fired. Pointing and getting very animated. Check it out. Very funny
These umpires have way too big of egos and shouldn't be able to just eject a player without good cause.
Grown men being consumed with a boys game.
23:15 I don't know why but that comment about "several of the Boulders now posing for a photo" is cracking me up 😂
So did the ejection of Nathans stand?
This commissioner does what he is supposed to do. You see that Manfred. He's doing his job, why can't you do yours?
I think number 42 should have been ejected.
