Baseball is the only game in history in which the players and managers can invade the field and the officials can do nothing about it.

I worked baseball for over 30 years and I never saw an umpire loose his shit like this. He was totally wrong in touching the manager and should have been sat down form at least a month. There is just no excuse for this action by any official in any sport. To be a good official one has to have their self together no matter what is going on around them...

The composure thing.. I would announce things like ‘’can’t wait to see Harper and Pig take one in the pie hole if it will shut their big mouths shut’’ that’s how you announce a game

I umpired four years of Babe Ruth baseball, reffed one year each of high school football and high school lacrosse and adult Christian flag football. I've watched sports at a variety of levels for 37 years and I've NEVER seen anything remotely like an umpire being ejected. I heard ONE story about a soccer referee who ejected himself in my nearly 51 years on this planet.

What a waste of time. No truth of what really caused the rub and why Warren was given the "boot."

I wouldve put my arms up too if i turned around and saw the idiot approaching me in an aggressive manner. He had already been ejected. He should no longer have been on the field.

This is indicative with every thing that is wrong with society today. This act will furtherance the breakdown of the game of baseball. Right wrong or indifferent there has to be an absolute to the umpiring of baseball. Every call a umpire makes can be overturned by someone on a phone. Baseball like every other arbitrated event in society will turn into kayos .

Nicholson should also be charged with assault and have to pay a fine

As soon as I saw that Nicholson stayed on the phone it was very clear to me that he was going to be leaving. Players can't attack umpires physically without suffering consequences AND THE SAME GOES FOR UMPIRES.

I started playing baseball when I was five years old here I am 73 years old almost 74 and I have never seen an ump ejected from the game. This is what they need to do to Angel Hernandez. What a bum that guy is. Hernandez needs to be permanently reassigned to the minors or he can’t do too much damage. Wow exciting

I am 73, played until I was 24 and then Coached and Managed! I never saw or heard of anything like this. The clue here is the physical Contact between the Umpire and the player. Did not look like much, but the umpire appears to have lost it a-bit! But the result was the player, overreacted drawing much attention to himself. In boxing they call in a dive, in basketball it is a flop! in hockey it is called Something akin to faking an injury, to draw a penalty. Neither is impressive !

So what was the end result of all of this?

I say let ‘em fight like hockey. Soft ass refs.
