We wanted to participate and show everyone how great the people in New York City are too!!! We had SOOOO much fun doing this!!

its amazing how a simple hug can put a smile on someones face... you can make a change in someone's life without saying one word...
this is how a person should help another person when that person is having a bad day it is truly magical in my eyes

I love the joy of the people who run up and do a slam hug.
The smiles and laughter disguise a more hidden and serious reality.

I wasnt much of a hugger until I saw the juan mann version of this and now I really go out of my way to hug people and I know it makes me feel better and im pretty sure it makes the people im hugging feel better. I really like this and hope it changes peoples hearts!

I love free hugs it makes me so happy and tears to my eyes. It's a beautiful, if we can give hugs to strangers and share that warm energy it makes a difference.

I think this is an absolute genuis idea. So many people just need a touch and a reassurance that someone cares.

I have seen so many free hug videos and they never cease to amaze me. There is just something so wonderful about the simplicity and beauty in seeing two strangers hugging. It makes me think about the core behind humanity and how we're all here together in this one life working with each other. Idk!!! I think too much, but I love the free hugs concept! :D

I was just in NYC and watched three people with signs saying free hugs in Union Square, next to the farmers market. It was great. I love NYC!

my favourite part about these videos is some people run to the huggers, some approach nervously with their heads down, some have their arms crossed, but almost all leave with a smile on their face:)

The free hugs campaign has spread all over the world, from Rusia to Amsterdam, for Germany to Mexico. Lets keep huggin where ever we are.

We need people like this everywhere. With all of the racism and other kinds of hate, we need more people to show that they are loved, no matter what their skin color or differences.

City of loving and open hearted people...I have being to Atlanta, Philli, DC, Newark, San Francisco, Austin, Tampa, Chicago, and even Albany....but there is no place like NYC...my heart and soul belongs to NYC, its because of New Yorkers.. ;-) .....

Beautiful video... remarkable it found success in NYC... I gre up there, and most people are too busy ignoring others (granted, Washington Square Park is in a youthful and artistic district so there are allot of free spirits and open-minded, hopeful and friendly people about).
