For story 2 I am named after my father and I find that there has never been a problem except for when my mom calls from another room for use and either the wrong one answers both thinking she’s calling the other one or we both answer a the same exact time and she gets mad😂
My parents couldn't agree on my name, even 2 days after my birth. Last night in the hospital, knowing thry have to sign my BC before they can leave, still can't agree. TV is on, and Cheers pops up, they both like the show, and the lead actor in general. Both instantly decide to name me after the main character. So I was named Sam. Could have been a lot worse, I could have been Norm.
Story 2 ended well I’m glad. For my name my parents were sitting at a playground at a drive in theater discussing baby names as one of the current Star Trek movies was playing in the background. According to both they said Nichelle together and thus I got named after the actress Nichelle Nicholes the original Ohura. I love my name but it is hilarious to see people who know who that actress is and try to connect that I a pale half Irish half polish/german gal to the name.
What I hate is when people say he can name the baby when he pushes the baby out she didn't get pregnant on her own and he has every right to divorce her and leave her a single mother
I agree with that last comment on story 2. Naming a kid directly after you is hella narcissistic. On another note, Stewart?! That's not even a good name.
I would've simply told the mother in first story that there's a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. Forgiveness is for the person who was wronged. Reconciliation is for both parties. Forgiving a person does not mean you have to be near them, talk to them, or be friendly. You could very well ignore their existence and still forgive. The mother had no right to pressure OP for reconciliation and assume it's the same thing when OP is practically traumatized.
Story 1: yup same thing happened to me except it was my dad, not my mother. They always preach Christian values but end up cheating anyway. That's a Christian for you.
As a son, who is an "II" I will admit it is pretty shitty if your parent is pretty successful... my father was a small buisness owner that grew his company to being the biggest mom and pop shop in our state. Everyone knows who he is within the industry and within our city. Being the 2nd made me not have my son be the 3rd. I love my dad and as the oldest of 4 boys, and now having 3 sons myself. I understand why he worked so hard and did what he did. But it really messed with me while growing my own career being constantly compared to him and belittled by others since at my age he was much more successful than I am. At 30 now and still working with my father (company no longer exists he sold it when covid started) I still hear how I'll never be as great as him.
1st story: heard this before here, been a while but don't think it has a new update since last. 2nd story: holy crap that's a horrible name, full stop. I get wanting unique names and all and I get (but don't agree with) him wanting it to reflect him but don't go inventing new ones for your own ego.
As someone with an unusual name (in some circles) don't give your kids unusual, unique or made up names. They have to live with this nonsense and childhood is hard enough without having to defend your name.
Something off with ppl nowadays forcing their spouse to try and give the kid theyre name to "honor them" youre not a king or a warrior you dont need to be honored in your kids name technology literally exists youll be fine
What sucks most is with today's technology, "legacy" or "family" names tend to create problems out the wazoo with credit and background checks. You can't have too many folks in the family with the same name or they'll spend ages trying to untangle their info about their residences, credit scores, job history, and heaven forbid arrest records. That kind of thing can really screw up job searches when they do the background checks and all. I used to do background check fingerprinting and the stories I heard of folks who had someone make a typo somewhere on a form or confuse them with an uncle, and the hoops they had to go through was nuts.
Story 1: That is when you offer to host a party for all of them then expose the affair in front everybody and call them out on their bs and their abuse. Make sure to record it for yourself. Story 2: I don't need to hear it to know OP saved her daughtrr from years of bullying
I will only forgive after the person whi made the mistake apologizes truthfully and tells me what they are apologizing for then again affairs usually go on for months at a time and mistakes only only for a couple seconds or minutes
It’s not weird to have a family name. My grandfather, uncle, and cousin all have the same first name but go by their middle names so it’s not confusing.
S2: I object to the idea that you can't EVER name a kid after someone, but I think the ideal is someone who's been long departed by the time the kid arrives so that everyone's had the time to grieve and the kid can carry the name as their own without any expectations on their shoulders. As an example, I wanna name my first son after my grandfather, I don't even have a long term SO yet, so that kid is gonna be well removed from any pressure by the time they get my grandfather's name. Also my grandfather's name is an actually good one on its own, bit folksy but it's the kind that sticks out in a good way.
Naming them after grandparents or something is a good idea. I cringe at the idea of naming them after a younger, recently departed. Too many horror stories of folks who haven't grieved properly looking at the new child like a do-over or "legacy" baby. NOBODY deserves that.
Story 2: I don’t mind the idea of name your kid after someone because of the fact that I actually want to name a future son David after my dad who passed almost a year ago.
Personally, I'd want all...five?...of Story 1's kids to get paternity tested. JUST in case the younger sister & Rob's brother turn out to be half-sibs, if nothing else - though I'm sure THAT would make things...even stickier.
That story reminds me of another story mom wasn’t a cheater but the op of that post she left her family when her ex bf knocked her best friend up she got little to no support and in fact on the day her best friend gave birth they went out drinking to celebrate the new baby she left after making sure her family couldn’t find her and she met her future husband had a few children and long story short she met her family again and her mom was so insistent that she forgive cheaters downright she was attempting to bully that op into forgive the cheaters it kinda broke the family apart this story is so similar apart from the mom for all I know wasn’t cheating on her husband
That story just made me wonder how the hell the OP survived without trying to delete herself at any point, she'd been just dismissed so hard for so long... same with this one. The mom trying to gaslight OP so badly in this one just adds a new element of horror, and then she had the gall to do the "I told you so" as if the dump truck full of wrong made THIS "right" okay, so it's all good. Ugh!
Of course the mother who sided with the cheaters turned out to be a cheater herself. Cheaters ALWAYS have each others' backs.

Stopping kids from saying first
Practice what you preach hypocrite
In 2nd story the commenter wild about the "Stacy mom" joke
It's from the song Stacy mom
another dumb story but still always fun to watch
Story 2: I don’t mind the idea of name your kid after someone because of the fact that I actually want to name a future son David after my dad who passed almost a year ago.
Personally, I'd want all...five?...of Story 1's kids to get paternity tested. JUST in case the younger sister & Rob's brother turn out to be half-sibs, if nothing else - though I'm sure THAT would make things...even stickier.
Momma would have gotten the dragging of a lifetime. All the hypocrisy and enabling was just projecting.
I like the texture you used
That story reminds me of another story mom wasn’t a cheater but the op of that post she left her family when her ex bf knocked her best friend up she got little to no support and in fact on the day her best friend gave birth they went out drinking to celebrate the new baby she left after making sure her family couldn’t find her and she met her future husband had a few children and long story short she met her family again and her mom was so insistent that she forgive cheaters downright she was attempting to bully that op into forgive the cheaters it kinda broke the family apart this story is so similar apart from the mom for all I know wasn’t cheating on her husband
Ugh!
Her parents are terrible despite having a close relationship with the both families does not make the baby her grandchild
