There's two things wrong with this sentence
1. Demons are also easily combo'd in story mode
2. He already did it with Vergil
1. Depends on the demon.
2. People wanna see SSSmoke fighting against enemies that actually react to his actions and fight back rather than being idle punching bags quite literally programmed to never fight back.
I'm not saying SSSmoke isn't skilled, but there's only so many times you can wail on the same idle, static training dummy before it loses its luster and entertainment value.
There's nothing wrong with people wanting to see SSSmoke's skills applied more in a practical setting rather than in a training mode.
And if SSSmoke takes genuine issue with people wanting that, then I think his frustration or anger is misplaced.

Tbh it wouldn't matter if it was training mode or not, those two are literally two different styles of play, one is more combo focused while the other is focusing on bouncing from target to target In a stylish way lol the fact someone may have actually said "but you can't do that against real enemies" is dumb lol but everyone who plays this game are the ones that taught Donguri how to play
To be fair, unless you do it to the last enemy a combo can be disrupted by the other enemies so i think its normal to think that he might fail if he does during battles

That's why you try the hardest difficulty possible. It will last you a while until you get to *those* combos then you need to mod the demons to last longer.

That's actually a good reason for enemies to have higher health on higher difficulty levels. More skilled players will be a able to do better combos.
Being completely real, I would love to see more content like this from you, doing your training mode combos out on the field.
Yeah, it's cool to see some creative combos, but it gets a little boring seeing them in training mode all the time. Seeing them being applied in the actual campaign (or even bloody palace floors), that's a whole lot more engaging.

That was absolutely awesome to watch. I'm awestruck at how good you are.
I don’t think anyone has ever doubted Smokes’ abilities. It’s more like some viewers want to see a little more outside from the Void. They want to see practicality against “working AI” vs an “Idle punching bag”. Here Smokes displayed very well he can handle multiple groups of demons. For example: 1:38. But if I can nitpick for a bit, the use of SDT to avoid damage does prove it’s a bit harder to put the combos to use in the fields. And he kind of jumped away a bit from an incoming attack at 2:00. By all means there’s no shame in doing so, but fighting outside from the Void has more risks and reward for the execution of the combos. Stay Smoking Smokes 👌
And if anything, it shows great situational awareness, reaction, and decision making. I would have never anticipated having to doing that after landing the dive kick. Pretty Amazing.
Using interesting mobility tools to dodge attacks is a key aspect of high level freestyle, SDT Jump is one of Dantes fastest and most visually entertaining ways to dodge, doesn't matter how good you are, if an enemys attack is about to hit, you have to dodge, skill is making that dodge look stylish as fuck

@Frax yeah I’m not sure what was confusing. Basically Frax is saying it’s harder to complete a combo outside of the Void because enemies can interrupt your combos; forcing you to cancel your combos and reposition yourself. If you allow the camera to capture every single enemies in the field, that’s a tough battle. Cheesing the camera to 1v1is obviously easy. 1v1 in general is far too easy.
@Frax I agree. It actually kind of baffles me that there are some players that thinks of this game as a kind of competition. This is the first time I have ever seen this kind of attitude in DMC 5 ever after reading the comments.
@@animatorze1140 @Frax 1st of all it doesn't matter in the end cuz as you said you can reposition the camera yourself to keep the enemies away. 2nd this argument is dumb cuz it's like saying you can't showcase a combo in training mode in a fighting game because in a real much the opponent can defend and interrupt your combo.
There is no "training room only" combo in DMC.

Tbh, with the amount of damage he over a loong time, i doubt any enemy other than Vergil can take the most optimal combos. And i think Vergil has a cap of how much damage he can take before he resets to neutral

Why would they regret it? It motivated Smoke to give us a show in a cool environment against a group instead of a blank void against a single target. This is way more fun to watch.

I love watching like all of your videos and I think it's funny when people say shit like "You can only do it in training mode" when you're very clearly able to do stuff like this. I will concede though that my favorite of your videos are definitely the Legendary Dark Knights videos. The one of the full Mission 11 (Dante on the Cavaliere Angelo mission) has to be my favorite, partially because of the use of God Shattering Star, but also because it got me to download the mod instantly (and then it broke because Vergil came out unfortunately).

Tbh seeing combos outside of training mode is nice it actually can help them far more better then in training mode its nice to have a flawless combo where its easy to do it but i’d say it’d be a lot more fun and challenging to improve said combos for group fights

TBF this is better if more people upload content like this with real enemies than in training mode. It gives me good vibes from the past of DMC3 MAD combos with elysium music on it.
People that tell you that you cannot do something are never the same people with enough courage to go out and try and fail. You can't let people like that dictate reality to you, they aren't in touch with it.

It's easy to miss but I love the subtle crowd control with the camera too.
Among everything else of course, but people trying to get into the groove of doing all these crazy stylish combos often forget that aspect of it.
You have a lot more control over enemies than just attacking and timing things.

Why would you doubt that he could do it outside of the void? DMC enemies are punching bags with the sole purpose of being combo’d. If this was Ninja Gaiden sure, but this is DMC and the easiest DMC at that (not counting 2).

The difference between comboing enemies in void or outside it is in void you can finish it while outside theres a chance you cant finish it because they might die unexpectedly, they all can be easily staggered for combos. Even vergil can be combo'ed.
