@@skraegorn7317 He only played one song on the Wall shows with the Esquire (Run Like Hell), but he had a new white Esquire (with a neck pickup added, as had the Wall one) for two songs on the On an Island tour, and he used the Wall Esquire quite heavily on the Rattle That Lock tour.
In fact that is near the same guitar that made Johnny cash famous. The late Luther Perkins used from the very beginning for a few years. Great sounding guitar.
As a guitarist, let me just say, I'd gladly strangle a random stranger for just about any of them. Without a second thought, as if I were the Manchurian Candidate hearing his activation codes. And I'm typically a very nice guy.
I'd be interested to know if you play gigs and who you play with, Mark, because you are one hell of a knowledgeable and talented player. Also curious about what your personal top five favorite guitars would be. Just wondering.
Esquires are so cool and macho! Lol. Why do you not see more people playing them? They really force you to think about your volume knob, touch, and attack, since you cannot switch pickups. Super cool vibe and awesome playing, man!
You know that mellow lead tone Stephen Stills had in CSN's "Wooden Ships"? Esquire, position 3. Not a switch position you'd use all the time, but definitely usable.
love Tele Tuesday but my favorite is Strat Saturday .. i have a business trip scheduled for Socal this year, i plan to stop by and buy a t-shirt, it might be difficult to buy a seat on the plane ride home for a newly purchased Strat at Norms ... more to come.
I have a 2017 MX whiteguard Tele std & a very well used 2011 60th anniversary, "very crackled black / yellowed maple, MX Tele, among lots of other guitars. I'm stumped about which 1 to turn into a Esquire, with a pickguard, pickup & wiring. Love em both as they are but have a 2019 Player blackguard I'll keep as it is. Out of interest, any Idea what a brand new condition 2009 sunburst / maple USA Strat would be worth? US $... In Australia, by the way.
Wouldn't use 3th position but hey I guess this is all we need, I'm going to get one the sound is exactly what I want country to soft rock oh yeah , thanks buddy ...
It's cool you chose a Joe Walsh song to play. A couple months ago I saw Joe play in Portland, ME and got to meet him. I asked him out of all his guitars he owns what is his one "desert island" guitar. He paused and thought about it before replying... "Probably my Fender Esquire". Very cool. Keep up the awesome videos. One day I'll get out there with enough coin to buy one :)
Awesome stuff Mark . . . maybe one day :) hey and ya got the "phone ring" in just under da'wire lol ... question - - is Camera Jen ever gonna make her vid debut? . . . just asking :)
Shoulda played some Floyd with that guitar. The Esquire is famous for the psychedelic scene just as much as the twangy sound.
Early Jeff Beck/Yardbirds as well.
slogans777 And he gave it to jimmy page when jeff left the yardbirds
David Gilmour got a lot of use out of his Esquire. He did most of The Wall Live shows with an esquire.

Well since my Birthday is 8-18-1955 by all rights you guys should just ship that beauty to me as a present ! I would of course accept it graciously.
Over to you, Norm!
Tomorrow: "hey that esquire we had, John 5 paid a ridiculous amount of money for it"
Hey, John 5 loves Tele's he got to get them all :)

Yeah, that' s very correct in "Walk the line".
dont know shit about guitars but i love this channel

@@218maryland Sure thing, maryland! You keep yourself safe and try not to work too hard, friend.
Syd Barrett’s main squeeze was an Esquire.
Wow. I never realized how versatile that single pickup was. Amazing guitar. I don't think anything sounds better than a Tele bridge pickup.
Mark is awesome ....Great for the store ....great spokesman for Norm's .......great musician and knowledge on history of items...Good Job my Man .....

Mark, I just bought a 2020 Esquire from my local music store. And I LOVE it! It’s in white blonde.
$26,500. I wish he would mention price. None the less another BEAUTIFUL guitar from Norm and the boys!

TAME IMPALA 🎉❤😊‼️😩💯🔥
Love the "Life's Been Good!" I can't play so I just watch you and wish I could. Highlight of my evening is "Guitar of the Day!"
He breaks into "Gator Bite" by Brent Mason, lol most of you don't even know that song..... Nice Mark!
Pure goodness, love to hear what it would sound like being played by me at my house after magically acquiring it. Dreams are free
This channel is very educational for me,,I'm seeing these guitars as art pieces in history
Nice playing Mark.....I never knew the way the pickup worked on an Esquire....now I do...thanks
Come on Mark I wanna see what 12-strings you guys got!

Phone wrang at the end, it's gone already.

Terrific work Mark, the transition into the quiet bit on life's been good is excellent.I miss you man, keep on rocking 👍😎

i love the muffled setting and the little headstock looks brand new..would be a fun guitar to play with.

by far the best video you've made
Hell yeah! Life's been good to me so far!
What is the solo starting at 5:53 ? It sounds great !
Awesome video, Mark, and this Tele is, IMO, the perfect guitar. Nice work.
I used to not like these guitars because of the one pickup but it's got a lot of different tones.
That ash Strat with black pickguard in the background... :O
It look at me throught my screen since I begun to watch your videos !
Hi enjoyed that glad to see they aren't giving any more grief about the leather jacket
Checking in from the future... the jacket comments never stop lol
I like the way you play... But especially on the tele! It fits you... Sounds great!
Mark seems like a cool guy to hang with & that is a great guitar - enjoyed that vid. Thanks

Jen is far out man and giggles & beautiful xx
Absolutely killer tone
I'd like to hear the neck switch position used as it would have been back in the day. Esquires are my favorite, at least for this week.
A little "Bakersfield" sound , Don Rich ,Buck and Billy Mize?
Tame Impala! I live down the road from Kevin Parker hahah
Have you ever talked to him? Is he a nice person?
I heard hes really nice
ive bumped into him a few times and he's a really nice guy, very genuine and extremely talented
you've met my dad? lol, my dad's name is literally Kevin.
Dude!! You gotta tell me where to find him!
Miss Mark.....nice axe
Back when we all waited for guitar of the day to post. now it's just loopers and delays
teles and tele type guitars have really grown on me, especially if theyre this hot
Henry is Rad me too. I’m really considering and esquire replica or somthing
keep the vintage Fenders coming!! Great video!
Super entertaining. Super guitar player!
Hey! He’s playing authentic! 🙂
Some fine pickn right there!

Oh yeaaaaaa Marks getting his Tame Impala on this week 😂

I love this twichey spaz.
Nice guitar

Killer guitar, playing and the looks f it.
Gotta love me some Joe Walsh :)
Ok friend of mines dad has one of these! It's beat beyond belief though.
Nice Mark!
How much did the 1960 strat go for?
lets see a vintage tele thinline!
also just wanted to say the background/history on the guitars is one of the best parts of the vids.
Maaaaan, that guitar🙏🏻
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh nice!
Mark Agnesi !!!!!
You rule Mark.
As each day passes, he looks like he's losing a bit of his soul recording these.
Like he said, 'Not a Museum.' And he stretched it, took a risk, going for Joe Walsh there . . . his 'guitar face' showed the work . . . great vid.
Not really he's a Gibson man.
One pickup is just fine.
Ohhh you *BEAUTIFUL* thing, you!!!
...the guitar, of course.
(drooooool)
Toooooooooonnnnnnnnnnneeeeeee!!!!!!
6:41 is Joe Bonamosa calling to buy it.
Richie Walter hahaha yup
Hahaha hell yeah man
You had me at Tame Impala's Elephant
Sick rocking out tame impala
What are the first 2 songs?
Sick, sick, sick. I wish. I wish.
More Esquires please.
Sick
Different bridge saddles in the whiteguard era, too.
All I can think when I hear this is Syd Barrett’s guitar on “Piper at the Gates of Dawn”
Hey, do we ever get to see Jan???
hey,,,lol.....luv esquires..the best..
omg.......the ultimate......seriously..
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My Fender Esquire made my wallet cry, I spent my money, now I don't buy. ;)
What does a 55 Esquire like this make?
What was the second riff? On the middle posting
*position
Kenny Olszewski someone on here said it's brent mason, gatorbite
why is there wear on the very end (highest fret) of the fretboard?
Play some brad paisley for me the on the next tele Tuesday!
It would be nice to hear the vintage Esquire played through a better amp.
Just can't beat a telecaster
