Same with Tamiyo. The number of walkers in Sulti colors that have self mill is fantastic; even more so when you figure Muldi and Tassiger can let you reclaim walkers from your GY.
When I heard there was going to be an entire set dedicated to Planeswalkers I got very excited because I am DEFINITELY a 'Timmy' and I really like Planeswalkers cards and the story behind the cards (I have collected almost all the novels). I may not alter any of my existing EDH decks, but I will certainly build a Super Friends deck (or 2 or 3..... :).
10:35 The actual rule is that there is no sideboard. Wish cards pull from any card you own...period. However organized events restrict the meaning of "own from outside the game" to your deck/sideboard list. This is technically an organized play limitation and not an official MTG rule. This "rule" does now however show up on the MTG rulings page but while specifically mentioning "In a tournament event", this is technically an exception extending beyond the actual MTG rules for the mechanic.
Realistically tho a deck that's 37% planeswalker would be horrible. If you've got the average mana base of 38 lands, that only leaves room for 25 other cards. Idk, I'd be lying if I said I didn't wanna see someone rise to the challenge
38:18 Besides Arlinn's Wolf, the Wolf token she makes and Voja(the Wolf token Tolsimir makes), are there any other Wolves in this set? It seems like such a weird ability to have.
With the risk of going "Ummm, actually", I must point out that in Classic Dr. Who, the character was often called "Doctor Who" in the credits. So my take on it is that both "The Doctor" and "Doctor Who" are acceptible names for the character.
19:50 Emrakul actually does have a connection to white. Emeria is a deity based off of Emrakul to the Merfolk and the Kor, and Emrakul even uses Emeria as an avatar when she visits the plane IIRC.
Pausing at the beginning when you discuss the Amass mechanic, so if this comes up later I apologize. I feel like Amass/Army is how they want to handle cards that make a lot of tokens now. Fixes a problem the computer versions of Magic have with large numbers of tokens. Creates lag, token limits, screen space, etc. Now that Arena is out and doing well, I feel like they want to smooth out the overall play experience going forward. Also similarly help mtgo players (to a lesser extent.)
Do you guys think making a dark ritual for each color would be a good idea because I would like to have one for each color in my decks to just help with mana problems I sometimes have.

I play a Liliana, Heretical Healer reanimator deck. One of the main goals of the deck, although it isn't required to win, is to flip Liliana and try to ultimate her. I was so excited when I saw The Elderspell. Not only is it going to help me deal with a more planeswalker intensive meta, it is going to make my Liliana ultimate win-con a lot easier to accomplish. There are a bunch of awesome cards for my deck in this set, but The Elderspell might be my favorite.
49:50 The infinite combo with Ral, Storm Conduit; Fury Storm; and Opt (or similar card draw) would work VERY well with Niv Mizzet, Parun, I think. Just think of how many cards you'd be drawing?! That's 1 damage to any target each time! Not to mention the instants and/or sorceries you're casting to take advantage of Ral's ability! That's insane!!
It actually works, but i don't think josh explained it clearly. You use the second copy to copy the first one, and you get a copy of it (since you hadn't cast it, you don't get aditional copies). Yo use that third copy to copy the first one, geting a forth one, then a fifth and so on. This will be just nonsense, because you aren't doing nothing relevant, but the catch is Ral is doing one damage with each step, because he cares about the copies. You can do the same thing with two copy spells instead of Storm of Fury
I hope this gets seen. You mention and showed off a Chandra stained glass playmat but I cant find it anywhere. Josh, Jimmy who makes it? Where can I buy it?
This Ugin is going in any Eldrazi deck, and sorin is going in my Edgar markov deck because the tokens from edgar and a lot of vampiers dont have lifelink and lifelink is nice
Liliana and Ral look great - I don't play much black, but this new iteration or Ral is for sure going to join the 99 in my Izzet deck. Jace will be basically the 2nd copy of laboratory maniac in decks using self-mill as win condition (including my stax). And speaking of mill, Ashiok imho is the dark horse of the set: currently she is somehow still under 1 $, definitely going to get her as single if I don't happen to crack her at pre-release next week.
With the Naraset and Tereri's Puzzle Box interaction, the normal draw for turn happens before the Box triggers. So actually they wheel away their entire hand, and then get nothing back.
Out of curiosity, where do you guys get such high quality images of all the cards? I often find I can only find much lower resolution versions on the wizards site and some of the other card search engines
Very important for Ashiok, only stopps effects your opponent CONTROLS from allowing them to search THEIR libraries, they can still search if you ghost quarter them for example, or if they are searching YOUR deck, Ashiok does not stop that
I saw the Liliana ultra Pro playmat. But I can't find that playmat anywhere. It features her from the trailer before she starts burning up. How do I get one?
I can see Jaya, Venerated Firemage having a home in a token sacrifice deck paired with cards like Goblin Bombardment to double the damage of each sacrificed token. I can also see her being useful in a Nekusaur or old Niv-Mizzet deck, doubling their damage dealt per card drawn.

Well not all the Planeswalkers will be even played, but all are worth talking about. The vast majority of the Planeswalkers will be slotted into some type of deck. But, the real reason they did a multi part is due to the number of other great non- planeswalker cards as well. If they mention everything, it's a bunch of hours long. If they don't, someone gets mad
@@herzer1313 The set is more than just its PWs you know. There's lots of good toys and commanders in this set to mess around with
@@herzer1313 plainwalkers as commanders and only legendary creatures in the deck instead of regular creatures because plainwalkers lead their legendary creature army to victory.if u ain't got like thirty legendary creatures u can't play bub
Josh 40:08 "It increases the size of your thing" xD nice i want that
"How will we Defeat our enemies?!"

@TheCommandZone Regarding the infinite Ral+ Fury storm copy : "The copy is created on the stack, so it’s not “cast.” Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell won’t trigger. This means, for example, that Fury Storm’s copies may target Fury Storm itself, but this won’t trigger the copy’s “when you cast this spell” ability, and it won’t increase the number of copies of other spells you end up with."
The combo still goes infinite, as you just loop copying the original, but it doesn't generate increasing amounts of copies like they said.
Arlinn is good with that "Friend of Wolves" guy.
In commander any cards legal that makes games lethal and dangerous and fast
Wait is that a leather bound mistborn book I see in the back?!
Based on the symbol on the spine, that looks like a yes it is.
I never noticed the various backgrounds you see through the windows till now and that level of dedication and detail is one reason I will always be a fan of Command Zone and the people
1:07:12 Saheeli can't copy Paradox Engine because it's legendary.
Okay... so first make paradox engine into a creature with the new karn, equip helm of the host onto it and create a non-legendary version of your engine...
@@cloaking111 why would you need more paradox engines xD
Or just add Mirror Gallery.
@@manuelgeraldino2235 you can't have enough paradox engines. It's an unwritten rule. Just accept it.
the lore on the wanderer is that she keeps planeswalking uncontrolably if she doesn't concentrate on keeping herself locked on a plane.
who needs Planeswalker removal when you have player removal.
When said planeswalker stops your player removal, maybe?
Tamiyos static ability might still be ok if u know that your opponents play decks with : wheel effects > wheel of fortun u dont discard and still draw 7 cards.
the anti sac part is also quite relevant (enought cards forces to sac see liliana or singel combat from war of the spark)
yeah her +1 is bad in comander/ singelton unless u are desperate searching for a combo piece [and rember u cant lose your hand so hand hate will not prevent the combo only exile handcards/counterspell]
and her -3 is a return so if u lost a part of a combo u gain it back.
shes not op but not as bad as u might think
I think she could be baller in Muldrotha. Load up the graveyard. Get back the odd non permanent spell and recur her with Muldrotha.
If you use the new Jace in a Muldrotha deck, you're basically drawing 3 cards with his +1.
domri is male @thecommandzone
Woman't
he is also dead
Are you assuming the cards gender
@@graysonchristian2668 no its cannon
Casimir Nelson can’t I just make a joke
10:35 The actual rule is that there is no sideboard. Wish cards pull from any card you own...period. However organized events restrict the meaning of "own from outside the game" to your deck/sideboard list. This is technically an organized play limitation and not an official MTG rule. This "rule" does now however show up on the MTG rulings page but while specifically mentioning "In a tournament event", this is technically an exception extending beyond the actual MTG rules for the mechanic.
In b4 Josh plays 5 color Niv Mizzet Reborn and runs all 37 planeswalkers
I jokingly said I'd build that when Niv was spoiled 😂😂
Realistically tho a deck that's 37% planeswalker would be horrible. If you've got the average mana base of 38 lands, that only leaves room for 25 other cards. Idk, I'd be lying if I said I didn't wanna see someone rise to the challenge
Fek i wanna see that
I loved the "best in the set" at the end, y'all. As someone who gets a bit overwhelmed, that kind of stuff really helps.
Me and ugin have something in common, no one wants to eff us...
38:18 Besides Arlinn's Wolf, the Wolf token she makes and Voja(the Wolf token Tolsimir makes), are there any other Wolves in this set? It seems like such a weird ability to have.
Doesn't seem like it, wolf's are scares in general in green and white
THE Doctor Who?! It's JUST THE DOCTOR!
1 hour 23 minutes and 45 seconds
Great job guys
Pausing at the beginning when you discuss the Amass mechanic, so if this comes up later I apologize.
I feel like Amass/Army is how they want to handle cards that make a lot of tokens now. Fixes a problem the computer versions of Magic have with large numbers of tokens. Creates lag, token limits, screen space, etc. Now that Arena is out and doing well, I feel like they want to smooth out the overall play experience going forward.
Also similarly help mtgo players (to a lesser extent.)
If mtg ever gets a cinematic/televised franchise idris elba needs to be teferi! Lol
I bought a box but I didn't get Tezzeret 😐
Laboratory jace and new tamiyo look sooooo good for muldrotha i want them both. Not sure where tamiyo goes but i still want her
I know right. I am planning a Nekusar commander right now and planning on adding that jace.
friedpinnapple it’s actually laboratory, thought scour jace. At least that’s my name for him.
Do you guys think making a dark ritual for each color would be a good idea because I would like to have one for each color in my decks to just help with mana problems I sometimes have.
I hope you guys are asked to design the next commander anthology! WOTC make this happen!
rav·el
/ˈravəl/
verb
1. untangle or unravel something.
2. unravel; fray.
3. confuse or complicate (a question or situation).
noun
1. tangle, cluster, or knot.
You're telling me that ravel is a synonym of unravel?
Are you kidding Nicol Bolas is the most powerful! Sorry for the hate, I love this show😊
I think jaya works great with calvacade of calamity and krenko goblins
Purpheros says hi too

Don't know if it was said before.

so...who do we know thats stuck in a moon?
thats said; the oriental style on the wanderer
and the fact that an Umezawa already faced off with Bolas once
seems more likely...
My depression is forcing me away from Magic. Thank you, command Zone, for being there.
My two cents:
I would be fine with Planeswalkers being commanders if we brought back the Banned-As-Commander list. Actually I would enjoy that.
And restrict doubling season in that you cant run it if you have a PW as commamder
If people wanted to play commander, but use planeswalkers, they could try Oathbreaker. Does anyone else know about Oathbreaker?
The Command Zone and Doctor Who?! It’s a dream come true!!
I love how they made Domri look so butch/feminine that people mistake him for a girl, lol.
I thought he was for the longest time.
Then I realized if Domri was a chick, he'd have his tiddies out
Great video on explaining all Comanders. LOVED the reference to the movie The Princess Bride. lol
That infinite will not work with Fury Storm, you need Increasing Vengeance.
Where can I find those guild sleeves you always talk about ? They seem to be unavailable everywhere!
Players who wants to play these new planeswalkers as their commander i say go play the brawl format.
Leng Thao Brawl is dead. Planeswalkers should be commanders.
Worth noting that you can also reset the uncommon walkers if you flicker them. Maybe in Brago and the like?
Did you know domri is black? And tamio is other kin
52:20 favorite part when they were listing the copy spells :D
Let's hope this set brings brawl back.
I hope this gets seen. You mention and showed off a Chandra stained glass playmat but I cant find it anywhere. Josh, Jimmy who makes it? Where can I buy it?
Ashiok seems like the most playable planeswalker. I think literally every deck in those colours should probably run it. It's so good.
TheEarthdeity I feel like Ashiok is the card that will see play in the most formats.
Could The Wanderer be a Kamigawa era Kitsune, many of whom had similar protective powers - like Opal-Eye, or be Kyodai/Michiko Konda?
I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE!!@@
Very important for Ashiok, only stopps effects your opponent CONTROLS from allowing them to search THEIR libraries, they can still search if you ghost quarter them for example, or if they are searching YOUR deck, Ashiok does not stop that
I saw the Liliana ultra Pro playmat. But I can't find that playmat anywhere. It features her from the trailer before she starts burning up. How do I get one?
Muldrotha superfriends looking fine as hell after this set.
Is tezzeret going to also be in the set? meaning you can open him in a booster?
Did anyone else notice that Ashiok is on the meditation realm in their art?
I can see Jaya, Venerated Firemage having a home in a token sacrifice deck paired with cards like Goblin Bombardment to double the damage of each sacrificed token. I can also see her being useful in a Nekusaur or old Niv-Mizzet deck, doubling their damage dealt per card drawn.
