To be honest, I have better memories of the 2005-2010 intro. I remember watching the ABC education block and as soon as I heard that jingle, I knew it was time to have lunch and turn off the tv. Ahhh good times 😌
Just a heads up, in the video description you had typed (1992-2018) for Ian Henderson’s weeknight tenure, but forgot to type his name. Just thought I would let you know so you can correct it 🙂
You missed out The ABC National (Victoria edition) intro from 1985. However, I like this video! Well done! Can you try upload the NSW and Canberra editions? Thanks!
Alex Csar Maybe it's because Victoria, NSW, Tasmania and Canberra follow the same time zone. Queensland and the Northern Territory, as well as Adelaide and Perth have their own editions of The National.
I'm not familiar with Australian accent(s), but is the first newscaster @0:10 speaking with an English RP accent with australian undertones? (The way he pronounces 'act')
Éric K. Fofana That's what Australian presenters used to sound like - you should listen to clips of early Australian radio, they speak with very clipped RP accents! It's only relatively recent that "real" Australian accents are heard in media
Most news presenters and voice overs in Australia tend to be in a very formal accent, basically trying to mimic the UK, I think it has something to do with actual Australian accents seeming less formal and trustworthy.

I remember being rather impressed with the 1985 Theme when it first aired...one of the greats.
1998-2005 all the way!!
I think the 2017+ version is supposed to reflect on the smart phone swiping / twitter era.
The 1989 intro was in fact introduced, earlier, across Australia. The intro was in use from January 1, 1988 until 1991.
Oops. Thanks.
I'm a Canadian, and I love this stuff!
From 1985-2005 The Music Is Called ABC World By 615 Music.
0:24 Didn't knew ABC in Victoria used different version of the ABC News intro (NSW used the version with ABC logo only at the end)
I find it fascinating how the states just seemingly did whatever they wanted!

Muhammad Rafi'uddin Bin Mohmmed I didn't include it on purpose. Yes I'll try to make a NSW version soon
Muhammad Rafi'uddin Bin Mohmmed Not much point including The National as it was just a New South Wales bulletin in all but name.

Aus TV Uploader It aired at 6:30pm, regardless of their timezones.
It wasn't a local news bulletin but a national one. And it didn't have the 'ABC News' title so it wasn't included.
2:04 greatest of all time
That 1989 to 1991 one is about Tiananmen Square in 1989.
what do you mean, it never happened ;)
Well done
