wow. I didn't know that "Apache Chief" was updated in this way. Kudos to whoever was involved. Hopefully this character can be brought into the comics.
Honestly I cannot stop laughing at Static's honestly pretty creative name for the astral projection. Just copying off of his last name "Did you know your, uh, Long Shadow was laser proof?"
Edmond Nwamoh I watched a video talking about the Runaways and it was mentioned that they were together. I don’t know anything about that though. Maybe in the comics they did? None of the runaways ever seemed really close in my opinion.
For those that dont know, Tye Longshadow is based on the old DC character Apache Chief from the Super friends show and comics. I love the way the reinvented the character. El Dorado is another character that they brought back and reinvented. ruclips.net/video/lSdcJcqT-cM/видео.html
Longshadow is voiced by the same dude who played Buck Cross in ABC's Young Riders and Thunder Hawk from the 1994 Street Fighter movie. The actor is Gregg Rainwater.
I remember the old Apache from super friends nice to see the update I hope they add to his abilities as a spirit warrior or shaman they would also have spirit weapons like spear and shield like to see him evolve more as a Native American hero with greater powers
Apache Chief is one of my favorite superheroes from the Super Friends cartoons who has the ability to turn giant size by yelling the world, " INUK CHUK ". Long Shadow ( JLU) and Tye Longshadow are based on him. He, Samurai, Black Volcan, The Wonder Twins, Geek The Space Monkey, and El Dorado are original characters for the cartoon and not from the DC comics. That was way before Harley Quinn was created for Batman: TAS in the 90's.
me too, only El Dourado appeared and Virgil, but both with very few appearances, not to mention Tye's friend who is the blue beetle also didn't appear much
If the Meta-Gene residing within Homo Meta's adapts new survival abilities to aid their hosts chances of survival against extreme circumstances then theoretically they should be able to develop covalent if not divergent powers and abilities as they continue to endure continuous environmental stress.
Not in Young Justice, no, except for El Dorado, who's the teenager with the skateboard in this video. However, in Justice League Unlimited, there's an episode that features "The Ultimen", who are a group of heroes commissioned by Amanda Waller, and manufactured by Cadmus to counter the Justice League if the League ever goes rogue. There's "Juice", who's a reimagining of BV, "Wind Dragon", who's a reimagining of Samurai, and there's even a version of Tye Longshadow. Unfortunately for The Ultimen, they find out in the very same episode that the cloning process that created them is an imperfect one, resulting in severe cellular and psychological decay. I don't want to spoil the rest if you ever decide to check it out, but it's a pretty sad episode, and also one of my favorites.
This Astral Projection form is more powerful of the all other users of this power: Dr. Strange, Prof. Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Trance or The Cuckoos Sisters. Wow!👍😮
Longshadow, Wind Dragon, Juice, Downpour and Shifter were originally made as pastiches to Apache Chief, Samurai, Black Vulcan, and the Wonder Twins respectively. The former two were seen as racist stereotypes alongside El Dorado, who didn't even get a pastiche in Justice League Unlimited. Young Justice combined their original counterparts with their JLU pastiches to create these characters. But they brought back El Dorado and replaced Black Vulcan/Juice, who only existed because they didn't want to pay royalties to Tony Isabella for using Black Lightning, with Static.
It will probably become more durable as he trains with his power, this is still early stages so he should be a bit further along now when we next see him
That 'OHM' sound when Tye manifests his astral form is dope
Agreed
Me encanta
Inuk chuk.
I love that sound when Tye transforms!
This is the original

The proper word is creating an avatar.
It's like some Nightwolf stuff for MK.
YAS THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE
Me too!

"Breath and be" - A GIANT.
*"OHMM" Intensifies*
wow. I didn't know that "Apache Chief" was updated in this way. Kudos to whoever was involved. Hopefully this character can be brought into the comics.
Ya Eldorado was updated too now this is a superfriends i could get behind
And the name "Longshadow" is a reference to the DCAU character.
Kimble Simpson they were also reinvented in Justice League Unlimited season 1
Hopefully the character will not be found in some way to be racist and removed. I think this is well done and would hate to see it go.
@Kimble Simpson what are you talking about? Every single character in this show is a pre-existing character from somewhere else lmao
Honestly I cannot stop laughing at Static's honestly pretty creative name for the astral projection. Just copying off of his last name "Did you know your, uh, Long Shadow was laser proof?"
I think i's a reference to his hero name being Long Shadow in Justice League Unlimited.
That ability is freaking dope
Right?! So much cooler than turning into a giant lol
@@TheGeekRevolution Agreed!
@@TheGeekRevolution turning into a giant also fits Giganta better
Also beautiful. With the golden glow, Tye looks godly at the center of the giant with eyes closed and calm.
I like this version than the JLU Version which is More Epic.
Such an awesome take on Apache Chief from SuperFriends. They need to put him in the actual comics.
yeah. Read the wikipedia article on him! I love how they fix stuff.
I hope we get to see Tye and the Sam in the next season. I mean, we already have Virgil and Ed, but it'd be cool to see Tye and Sam too.
For sure.
There’s gonna be a fourth season now?
Do you think tye and Sam are in relationships? because they don’t seem close
Edmond Nwamoh I watched a video talking about the Runaways and it was mentioned that they were together. I don’t know anything about that though. Maybe in the comics they did? None of the runaways ever seemed really close in my opinion.
@@edmondnwamoh6830 yeah it's been confirmed
like the calmness of his power.. like something you'd do in a dream.
Really wish he stuck around. He was a cool character
For those that dont know, Tye Longshadow is based on the old DC character Apache Chief from the Super friends show and comics. I love the way the reinvented the character. El Dorado is another character that they brought back and reinvented.

That's just not just them, but they also brought Virgil (SuperShoque) representing BlackVulcan, and Asami Koizumi as a female version of Samurai
That ohm is everything
"Grandpa was trying to teach me focus since I was 8" That sound very sweet🥺..
As someone that grew up with the original Chief I actually don't mind this updated version
Longshadow is voiced by the same dude who played Buck Cross in ABC's Young Riders and Thunder Hawk from the 1994 Street Fighter movie. The actor is Gregg Rainwater.
I like this astral projection body as opposed to his actual body growing.
I really wish Tye was in season 3 or would have more screentime. Ol Boy is cool af
OMFG! You actually did it! YEEES! *Added to favorites*

Technically, Black Vulcan was a substitute for Black Lightning due to a dispute between DC Comics and Black Lightning's creator Tony Isabella.
Nightwolf eat your heart out. Tye is my new fave.
🤣 exactly what I was thinking
This has to be the greatest power ever
They need to bring this team back in the next season damnit ....
I completely forgot he was this versions longshadow
Tye needs to make a comeback
Hashirama Senju on Susanoo mode
Imagine having hulk abilities in this form
So sad we didn't get to see Longshadow in the fourth season Outsiders.

Way cooler than Apache chief. Went from stereotype to badass
But ....but....what about "Inukshuk!"?
Never thought I'd see the guy again 👏
I’m glad all this is on here.
I'd like to have all powers without any weaknesses, but I know that 's impossible. After all, I am only human.
INUK CHUK! (The real ones get it...)
Is this based off the same Long Shadow from the Cadmus arc in JLU?
Yes
Yep, both adaptations of Apache Chief from Super Friends
Kinda interesting that his name technically translates to "the enemy"
Hope he returns in season 5 and Wally kid flash also
I'm 100% apache mescalero native american he my twin as a cartoon love his super power 💯🦅👏🏾🔥🌎✨🌜⭐👩🏾💯
I'm part Maya, I know it isn't technically considered Native American, but it's cool for me to see indigenous representation of any kind 👍
I hope we get Tye and Asami joining the Team or the Outsiders
I bloody well hope not! I wanna see them coupla of times again, but leave the kids be and live their domestic life.
His power is like a Susanoo
No catchphrase needed to look cool either
I remember when I used to get baked AF and watch YJ! Sigh, those were the days...

Ya'eh im tye
So any updated versions of Black Vulcan, Samurai and El Dorado?

Not in Young Justice, no, except for El Dorado, who's the teenager with the skateboard in this video.

STANDO POWAAAA
YH XD
Wonder why he is cut short in young justice?
What is that golden avatar made of? The doctor said astral form, so does he summon it from an alternate dimension?
Astral as in astral projection, meaning he’s channeling his spirit into corporal form.
DC finally got its STANDO user ;)
If only he choose how big or small the construct was
This Astral Projection form is more powerful of the all other users of this power: Dr. Strange, Prof. Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Trance or The Cuckoos Sisters. Wow!👍😮
It's impressive but I wouldn't go that far
It kind of reminds me of Hisako Ichicki's(armor’s) power. Which is to turn into an almost indestructible psionic armor.
None of the characters you mentioned are DC lol
So is longshadow a seperate character than apachee chief? Or is it a more socially approved name?
Longshadow, Wind Dragon, Juice, Downpour and Shifter were originally made as pastiches to Apache Chief, Samurai, Black Vulcan, and the Wonder Twins respectively. The former two were seen as racist stereotypes alongside El Dorado, who didn't even get a pastiche in Justice League Unlimited.

Power seems cool, but goddamn does it seem useless. Every other scene is him getting smacked down and it dissolving.
Right, what was the point of making him have a giant astro-from if it's not going to be durable?
It will probably become more durable as he trains with his power, this is still early stages so he should be a bit further along now when we next see him
He is literally a teenager who only just awakened his power. What did you expect? For him to manhandle Red Volcano and Black Beetle with ease?
