hey, so after riding around with my Borla axle-back exhaust on my 2017 Mazda 3 gt for a few months, I wanted more sound eh eh... I did a resonator delete since the corksport mid-pipe was too expensive... I don’t regret it at all, it sounds really mean... I hope this video helped you decided if you want to do it or if it helped you in the process. It took me approximately 3 hours.
TOOLS NEEDED:
saw to cut the pipes, a 10 and 12 mm socket with a wrench, and the Harward, in my case, it was 2 2 1/4 pipes with 1 2/18" clamp with 2 2/14" clamps with some exhaust sealer...
super simple to do.

Just a heads up, drop the car on the jack stands then use the jack as security. Because you can snug the jack up to the diff or somewhere around where you're working. If the jack fails because of it's hydraulic components the stands can tip over or fail completely and collapse causing the car to drop. Never have a gap on jack stand, make sure the weight of the car is on it or the stand can fail it's designed to hold weight not take an impact of two tons. The more you use a hydraulic jack as a jack stand the higher chance it will fail. Great video man, not trying to lecture you, just want you and others to be safe. Good work sounds great.
If you ever get tired of the rasp I’d recommend a vibrant resonator bottle style!

I got the Borla Axle back Type S exhaust with Aero performance resonator installed and it basically gives you a nice controlled sound. Sounds super beautiful. Now I'm thinking of doing the mid pipe leaving the resonator and mufflers and see how that goes

Ayyy thanksss man, it's really fun to drive but if you have the borla exhaust... and you delete the resonator it's really loud. But if you're on stock exhaust or a aftermarket quiet one you'll absolutely love it

Great video! But I heard the resonator is tuned to give it more hp, about 8-12hp. It being such a high compression engine to get as much fuel efficiency, the tune on it goes hand and hand. Does it drive any different for you??
Not sure about 8-12hp, but 5hp easy. High compression or not, a resonator is an integral part of any good exhaust system and necessary for optimal flow. (Unless you have a dual pipe exhaust setup with ability to add an x-pipe, such as on an exhaust system for a V8)

unrelated to the actual vid but like, what did you do for you taillights?? did you use a type of tint or spray to make them darker. they look amazing! i tried to use a tint cut for my model but failed to wrap them correctly due to the heavy curves of the lights
It is vivvid dark tint on amazon.. i used a hair dryer.. it takes time to do it correctly tho

Yes, it does. You're just going to have to do a slight rear bumper mod to fit the exhaust tips.

What's the most affordable way to give my 2013 Mazda3 a deep growl exhaust sound? I was planning on doing a resonator delete but I've seen mixed opinions on that when researching this...would that be my best option or no? Also, does the 2013 Mazda3 have 1 or 2 resonators?
Hey, I’m on my other account.. if you still have a stock exhaust à resonator delete will sound good, I didn’t lost power... you got 1 resonator and 1 big muffle on the stock exhaust
Late reply but I did a resonator delete to a magnaflow exhaust and it is perfect very loud tho but gives a deep rumble when cursing also
@@pedrosegura4031 hey this is exactly what I ended up doing to mine. It's not as loud as I was hoping for but I read that magnaflows get a little louder with time so we'll see I guess. If not, I'm still pretty happy with the current sound.

J’ai également une Mazda 3 comme toi avec juste actuellement un silencieux ulter, je vais passé en full tube , donc supprimé le silencieux intermédiaire ainsi que le catalyseur , j’aurais quelques questions , ton tube est t’il en inox ou en titane ? Le bruit est t’il vraiment excessif à ton goût ? Cela est t’il gênant à la longue ? Et bon je voit que tu est de Montréal moi je suis en France mais au niveaux police ? A tu déjà était embêté ? Shift in 2k to 3k rpm and give it a throttle blip and you can make the car pop. It's supper fun!!!

Woah... that is way loud & raspy with the Borla system. I'm thinking a resonator delete with the stock system just might give me the sound I want. Either that or replace the resonator with a shortie glasspack.

yhea, when you're slowing down in most cases you can hear little burbles and pops
I would suggest putting a vibrant resonator. That way you can get the volume without the raspiness. Very very loud without the resonator.

A vibrant resonator would have been better then the delete, I’ve done this and thought it sounded so bad and raspy. I put the 18 inch vibrant bottle style resonator on and it made a world of a difference

Ur gonna loose horsepower cutting the resonater with the skyactice engine bc of its high compression system. it needs that special resonator
