- Yet another CNC Router playing the Mario Brothers theme song.
Was unable to do this all that well with previous controller, and just changed to LinuxCNC and it's improved the musical capabilities of the machine quite a bit. :-)
Used mid2cnc.py for this, as do most other examples of CNC music on RUclips. Наука
-Bro what are you doing on this CNC stuff?
-Playing mario....
I’ll be impressed if the CNC can play this while cutting out a picture of Mario.
Jake estepp yes
A greed
Picky ass
Possible but the mario cut out might take very long and not be good looking.
This is actually a very satifying rendition of Super Mario Bros
That's pretty amazing. I can't even cut a descent circle with my cnc.
dude... you deserve more subscribers
You WIN the internet !
OMG! Lol! I truely admire your time put into that!
rofl.. 99.9% of the effort was from the folks who wrote the midi 2 CNC script not me.. Amazes me how many views this video gets.. 🙂
Awesome!
I'm just now study cnc programing and thought, - this stuff can make music. So then ofc I went to youtube to check it out 😆
Also, bossman say, way the lube oil? No, measure the way lube oil! No lube the weigh measure oil!
"What customer project you are doing today?"
Yes
Continues playing Super Mario theme
:-)
The genius is in its use. Mario brothers works well. By the way since I have your ear, might I ask of how Linuxcnc is working for you? I would like to implement it in my CNC project. Does it compete well with MACH3? Thank you for the chat.
Linux/Ubuntu ftw!
When i did this, it played it on the y axis and was really low pitched. How do i change the tone or move it to a different axis?
Hi.. Were you using mid2cnc.py or another program? I used the command-line python script mid2cnc and there's a constant 'machine_ppi' you set on line 25 which effectively sets the tone. It's the number of steps per inch your machine does...
@@ChrisHellyar where can i find mid2cnc.py
Great that you didn't make it play the underground theme like some people do when playing this :\
Without giving up any trade secrets...how in the world did you do that!!!!! Either it took you HOURS of work or you have created a Donkey Kong music algorithm. Maybe we can upload this into the Iranian nuclear centrifuges and blame it on the Scottish.
Where did you get the g code?
man...part of me wants to sneak this onto one of my company's CNC machines as a prank, but I have a feeling there's a lot of tweaking of settings that would just get my sorry behind fired😂
Alright, do Meshuggah next!
I need to do this. I just need the file.
Just google mid2cnc.py and you'll find the guys site who wrote the tool and a bunch of how-to info. It was pretty easy to get sorted out.
This is awesome! Just like floppotron! Can you try DOOM Please?
But what does it make playing the music?
rofl.. Sort of a wiggly line in space.
Aww damn It would be good if these could actually play a neat tune and make something cool at the same time.
wow
Ooh, I see you to the dark side by using Linux, or is it just the logo of the software =D
The sound of horror
But can it play doom
would have been better to play "everybody dance now" LOL
Green Hill Zone please
rofl.. I suspect that's a different problem to playing music. :-)
I can't take any of the credit really.. There's a python script called 'mid2cnc.py' which has been around for a fair while.. You point it at a midi file with some settings and it spits out gcode.
if you google mid2cnc you'll find it pretty quickly.
But if you search around a bit there are various versions/variations around.
And I'm not sure the Iranians and Scottish actually have a beef right now? :-)
Thank you chris
Share file Gcode pls. (Y)
Hehe. Nice. Though I can't help but notice that the rhythm is a little off now and then. Is this a limitation of the machine, or just a bad midi file?
Michiel Helvensteijn ROFL... It'll be a combo of the path interpolation / acceleration settings in EMC2 and the midi conversion. I've had a bit more of a play with this since i made that video and some midi files convert and play very faithfully, some are really bad. Using steppers not connected to a heavy machine you could set the acceleration to be 10x higher than I have on the machine and get a much better sound I imagine. :-)
Chris Hellyar Do you have the Gcode File or just de CNC text so I can put it in my machines? Thanks Awesome video!
Tomás Chernoff If you google 'mid2cnc' you'll find the program to create the g-code. You need to set up mid2cnc to create the file for your machine.. Step size, microstepping etc. to get the tones right.. It's pretty easy to get working, and a bit of fun. :-)
Sorry no offense to the Scottish, they just don't get blamed for anything.
Play the elder scrolls :P
not again, Griffin it's not a instrument
Griffin?
