“It’s one I started and just not made a ton of progress on for whatever reason” - oh man I so feel that with some of my ongoing series that I liked after starting them!! Same thing for me with Earthsea, the Band, and KJ Parker’s the Siege. If I don’t keep up momentum then some stuff just falls to the wayside somehow. Let’s keep that momentum going with Shiang 💪💪💪
Absolutely true, sometimes there's just so many other things some series fall by the wayside! Shiang will almost certainly be towards the end of this month or December at the latest!
There are actually 6 books in Age of Fire. Each of the 3 dragon povs get a cover twice. Though 1-3 and 4-6 are almost separate series. The series reaches a conclusion in 3 and then kind of restarts in 4 after they've established lives for themselves. I'd recommend finishing 3 and the other three are optional.
Sounds like a lot of awesome series to continue with. I've started some that I'm not really sure if I will continue with Sun Eater being the main one I'm on the fence about. I'm awaiting the next books in The Kallatian Saga and Stormlight Archive series, but am otherwise caught up on those. I think the main ones on my TBR are probably The Hybrid Helix and whatever the series name for No Land for Heroes is called.
@@nikosbookreviews I liked the first book well enough. It was written in like a memoir style which was pretty interesting. My biggest issue is that I couldn't really tell you what the story is "about." It's sort of just the very deep reflection on Hadrian's younger years from the perspective of his older self that plays out very much like an actual memoir except this is a science fiction world. It was very good and translated exceptionally well on audio, I just feel like I need a much stronger sense of direction in order to carry me through a long running series like that.
@@derekb.4292 Oh that's interesting, I did not know that was the style! It's one I know some love and some don't care for at all, so will be curious to see what I think!
@@nikosbookreviews it's got some really rich world building (or universe building, in this case), so I think there's a decent chance it works well for you.
Holy crap. I don't think living like this with so much incomplete would be well for my mental health personally 😂 Unless you count the stuff where I'm waiting for books to be released, I only have two right now - K.J. Parker's Fencer trilogy and Janny Wurts' WoLaS which I both started recently. I'm one of those people who tend to read an entire series throughout before moving on to another. I don't think I'll be doing that with WoLaS though - given it's split up into arcs, I'll probably go arc by arc with other stuff between.
I used to complete series before moving to the next, but that's gone away with booktube lmao. Funnily enough WoLaS is the series I did end up just dropping everything to binge read!

Oh good I have to get Darien finished so I can read book 2 with you. I put it on hold for two strong must reads, I Was A Teenager Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones & Grace by Paul Lynch.
Why is it so much easier to start new series than to just finish what we're already working on? lol I will make you feel better, I have 80+ ongoing... it's a problem 🤣
How do you keep track of so many series?? haha I usually try to binge, but I've been failing at that more and more and my own list is expanding at an alarming rate 🥲
I had to sit down and make the list lol, but thankfully my reading retention is usually really good so I don't have too bad a time picking up a series even when it's been a while

Oh I did not realize! For some reason I was thinking there were only four, thanks for the tip!
Great video Niko! Those are some awesome series! So honoured THE DROWNED KINGDOM SAGA is among them! Thank you so much for reading my books!
Yours is definitely one I need to get to soon! Very much on my priority list!
A good reminder I really need to do a series check in 😅 Good luck!
You too!
I have probably as many series started. Buddy reads do help to keep on track, but most books on my list are in hopes I’ll get to them!
Buddy reads are definitely good to actually finish out series lol, I tend to start way too many otherwise
I have 42 series I haven't finished and that doesn't include the ones where the next book hasn't come out yet. I blame you for making me count them.
I mean... that makes me feel pretty good about my list lmao

One of these days I'm going to get to trying Sun Eater lol. I'm not sure he will feel either. I do also need to get to the No Land For Heroes series!
