You made a brave attempt at rolled cabbage leafs. The mince part is really done like you would make bolognaise sauce, and you did good by adding the rice. The cabbage leaves only need blanched and the centre stalk removed, this makes it easier to roll. The tomato sauce on the top needs seasoning with salt and pepper and mixed herbs. As the tomatoes are too sweet. A valiant attempts. Thumbs up to you 👍🏻

Cabbage rolls are probably about ten on my favourite thing list, that's after biscuits, walks, dinner, chasing cats, shouting at the postman and raking about in the bin. Fumbs up.
I would never throw away the damaged leaves. Chop them up, brown, and cook them separately / totally. Add them to your ground beef and onion mixture. My grandma made them that way. They were awesome tasty.
Extra virgin olive oil is fine for cooking, Kay. You usually only want to avoid it when cooking at very high heat or when searing anything because it doesn't have a high smoke point. For things like browning mince meat olive oil is A-ok.

by the way, if you ever wanna try getting whole leaves off of cabbage again, you could try using either a kind of cabbage that has loose leaves (such as savoy) or to cook the entire cabbage after cutting out the bottom part (including the part of it thats still inside) until they loosen themselves up to avoid the waste :)
Hey Kay me and my Nan love your vids keep up the good work, we have a suggestion for you on what to make in upcoming videos. Try making a cheese and cream pasta. So get your pasta and cook it. While that’s boiling get a pan and heat it up. Add in garlic and onion and quickly add in a tbs Of tomato purée. Mix it all together now add in some double cream. It doesn’t have measurements juts do enough for how much pasta you made, now once the cream is nearly done add in pepper and some crated cheese. Any cheese you like. Mix this in with the creamy sauce for a very short amount of time as you don’t want it too burn. Now drain your pasta and add it to the sauce and you’re done! If you want some meat in the meal you can add in sliced chicken into the dish at the end
Hi Kay I've got a new recipe for you, Its a family one for Bacon Omelette: 4 eggs, mushrooms, diced onions, bacon, thyme, 50ml soy sauce. Instructions: start by mixing the eggs and then pour in to a medium heated pan, after 5 mins add the bacon with the mushrooms while stirring, continue to cook for another 5 to 10 then add the onions thyme and soy sauce, leave to slightly crisp the edges for another 5 minutes. Then you are done! Its such a amazing, quick and easy recipe and I think you'll love it!!! :)

Kay! I don't recommend using a plastic spatula, it makes the stirring so much harder. I switched to a wooden spatula a few years ago, and never looked back
Loving the content Kay! You’re a staple for me and my housemate! A recipe for you to try, a light scallop salad: Julian a Granny Smith apple (you want thin batons) and place into a mixing bowl. Add two handfuls of lamb lettuce and season with salt, pepper, a drizzling of juice from half a lemon (and the zest) and a small drizzle of olive oil. Mix and set aside. Prepare the scallops: Dry the scallops, seasoning one side with salt and pepper. Place into a smoking hot pan, seasoned side down and arrange them around the edge of said pan. Once in the pan, season the upturned side of the scallops with salt and pepper. After a minute and a half (or so), flip the scallops, starting with the first one you placed in the pan and finishing with the last. Fry for another minute and a half. You want both sides to be golden brown. Remove from the heat and add the juice from the other half of the lemon and shake well. Immediately place onto some kitchen roll, this will stop the cooking process. Serve immediately, arranging 4 scallops onto the plate and then place a handful of the salad ontop. Enjoy! 😊

Not good for cabage rolls.
I would recommend using savoy cabbage, the leaves are easier to take off, larger leaves and more softer so easier to roll up without breaking.
