The hotel reception asked you guys to leave probably based on information they retrieved from some WeChat groups(you know sometimes inaccurate or rumor spread by boring people). People get so sensitive during that zero covid period that no one wants to get quarantined. Anyway, these are all past tense rn, stay safe Amy!

That makes sense. If the staff thought that a lockdown was imminent, they'd want to evacuate as well or face being locked down themselves.

Amy won't dare say it, but more likely it's a foreigner thing. I live and work in China, travel some. There's a different set rules for foreigners staying at Chinese hotels. Some hotels will flat out deny non-Chinese visitors. Others will change check-out time. Does it bother me? Kinda. Does it make me want to leave? Nah.

About the "hiking trail" you mentioned at 8:25, I might give you some reasons why we have such thing. Most of us Chinese don't have the concept of "hiking equipments", and those equipments are not cheap for most of us. We build this kind of trails at most of the famous scenery spots to let all the tourists enjoy it. On the other hand, it would protect the local enviroment since everyone walks on a trail rather than directly on earth.

I did the route from Beijing to Jinzhou a few times and the trucks are mad. 80 km/h is enough for most.

Surprised you didn't mention the Tianchi monster, it's pretty popular in China for it, kinda like China's lochness monster. Love your videos!

Finally had a chance to watch your vid. First, I’m a New Yorker so used to aggressive traffic. Second am close to areas that has drivers from China so totally feel you as far as, drivers overly aggressive and unusual driving practices. As a New Yorker want to say “curb your enthusiasm !!!” but it’s rather charming. Love to both of you from the states ❤️.

@@matpk In fact, Chinese people cannot. China doesn't recognize dual nationality. Once the public security department finds that you hold passports from other countries, your Chinese passport will be canceled.
