Hey guys, fantastic vid again!! But can I give you a word of warning!!! Please do not use such a large pan on the portable gas stove!!! I was in the fire service for a number of years and had one call-out to an incident involving this type of stove. The gas cylinder had exploded, upon investigation it was found that the over sized pan had directed the heat back down towards the gas cylinder which resulted in a small scale “BLEVE”! The resulting injuries to the person cooking were burns to hands arms face thankfully nothing life changing!! So please use a smaller pan👍👍
@@Willowsmum not stupid at all!! It’s a stove so you cook on it……it surprised me during the investigation that it was simply an oversized frying pan that led to the failure.
Just a little tip , when you make bubble and squeak,, add a bit of marmite and stir through the mixture. It gives it a much nicer, meatier taste!! It’s lovely!! Xx
Lovely to see a properly crispy, crusty bubble and squeak. Please save some to use for topping a cottage or shepherd's pie. So much tastier than plain mash. Have a happy 2023.
Guys you nearly made me cry, cause that was my Daddy’s “speciality” on St Stephens Day, and it was perfect! He chopped up some gammon and added a beaten egg to his though and then made them into small patties that he did in the oven, cause there was nine of us and we’d be fighting over them!! Do you know, I’m gonna do those asap in the Ninja. Thanks to you both, another classic
Doesn't get any better than a video from you guys to start 2023. Sharon your Christmas cake looks amazing!! Love how you guys used your leftovers. Definitely using the knife trick. Thank you for all that you do and keep the videos coming ❤
Bloody hell i nearly choked when he said “we probably won’t eat all the meat today “ Jesus you could feed 500 on that lot 😂🤣looked delicious though got me 🤤for a plate full
We always have bubble and squeak on Boxing Day. Fried. But what was left I put in a glass container sprayed with oil and put in air fryer. It was lovely
Oh blimey! That takes me back to Christmases Past at my dear ol mum & dad's 💖 My mum managed to feed 14 on Christmas & Boxing Days....like feeding the 5,000!! Normal sized oven. Fridge with tiny ice box. (The spare 'fridge' was actuaaly just the lobby under the stairs by the back door (pre-central heating days)!!) No microwave...how did she pull it off? But, aside from the massive, beautiful turkey, we rarely had any 'leftovers'...and definitely NO roast spuds and parsnips!! So, if we ever had Bubble, it was cooked from scratch! Big families never really had leftovers...we'll not in our house! 🐷 🐷
Happy New year to you both enjoyed all your videos over Christmas thank you Sharon I made your Christmas cake in my airefryer and like you feed it weekly with rum which we like it has been the best Christmas cake I've ever made and at 71 I've made a few it's my husbands birthday today he's 81 and we have saved just enough cake for his birthday tea tonight thank you for all your recipes just gone to prove never to old to keep learning keep the videos coming there great kind regards Elaine and John Garnett
Thank you very much for your wonderful videos. We bought an air fryer TODAY We went right in as Martin will say and we cooked bratwurst sausage Sweet potato fries and Sharon’s cauliflower and cheese sauce. I was amazed at the speed in which it all cooked The amount of lesssss pans I had to clean and how delicious the food was. I am Very grateful. I had 2 major operations and more on the horizon. This is going to make my like much easier. We decided on the insta vortex 6qt Worked great. Cheers from across the pond. Bless you both
Beautiful Christmas cake...will be making that this year since you've made it so easy to do...I would've never believed it could be done that way! (And how wonderful the bubble and squeak is...leftovers have a whole new life...frugal and creative cooking for anyone and everyone to try themselves...without worry...)
It's wonderful to see you both Sharon & Martin! Happy New Year! I do love bubble & squeak. That looked so good 👍 I'm really looking forward to seeing the turkey curry too 😊 Thank you both 😇 😇
That looked really nice. You can only make a good bubble and squeak with left overs, if you cook veg to do it it’s never the same. Your Christmas cake also loved Lovely. I still laugh seeing left hand people doing things, even being left handed myself as is my hubby. I think your right it’s how you mash it up that makes the difference. Food you cook yourself never tastes as good as when someone else does it for you. Even a sandwich tastes better. Enjoy being spoilt Sharon. Thank you both.
Oh Sharon & Martin, boxing day bubble & squeak with cold meats is my favourite part of Christmas! With plenty of pickled onions and Branston Pickle. Superb with a nice white wine! 👍😆
So many nostalgic thoughts come to me watching your videos. I used to spend weekends and school holidays with my nan. Sunday was always roast beef dinner. Monday was bubble and squeak with cold roast beef with a little squirt of Daddies brown sauce. Veg always had potatoes and cabbage plus anything else that we'd had. Nan used to leave it a little bit more chunky to help get those little brown burnt bits to really add to the flavour. Another dish I've not had in years that I think you're inspiring me to have a go at making.
I have started the obligatory diet that most women feel they have to start after Christmas and now I feel I have to have bubble and squeak, it looks smashing, mine never looks that good, I think I rush it so it never gets those lovely brown tasty bits, I have learnt my first lesson of the year from you guys. 🎉 happy new year. Keep those videos coming please.💖
Just love you guys so simple and real and just love how your dogs how they are around you always your food always looks yum thankyou for your food and ideas happy new year 🎉🎉🎉❤🙏🐶🥰🐶🥰🐶🥰🐶🥰😊big hug Sydney Australia
Thanks to you two, Martin and Sharon, I did my roast potatoes, roast parsnips/carrots, stuffing balls etc in the Ninja. I'd already cooked the turkey and ham separately in the Ninja. Loving your videos, you've already given me brilliant ideas. Thank you sooooo much. Xmas day dinner and even boxing day dinner, Roast beef and yorkies in the Ninja, even did the starters, psocuitto wrapped halloumi. I have a Ninja 9 in 1 which I got for christmas 2021, I've used it for a year but not anywhere near as often as I do now, thanks to you both. Happy New Year and keep them coming xxx ps I often do bubble n squeak after a big meal but I put all my veg and pulse it in the food processor then form it into little cakes
Great video guys you guys are brilliant love watching all videos looking forward to your next one happy new year to you both and your family hope 2023 will be a great year for all x
I absolutely love a bit of bubble mmmmm , haven't had it for years. The way you done reminded me of my late mum only difference she used to chop a couple of onions. Keep em coming Martin and Sharon and HAPPY NEW YEAR
Sharon & Martin, please take note of Garett Ski……notes, for safety reasons, TAKE YOUR LARGE PAN BACK (because it’s beginning to stick food) and change it for 2 SMALLER ONES.
It's nice to see you both back. Your Xmas cake looks lovely Sharon . One year I made Delia Smith's Creole Xmas cake, that had a lot of booze in it, it was really nice. The bubble and squeak looked lovely and the egg was cooked to perfection. I noticed your oil dispenser, I had one like that but when I refilled it the nozzle ended up towards the back inside it so I couldn't use it. Anyway I've ordered a one with a trigger thing on it. I got some new grinders with a lid on because I was sick of the pepper dropping out of the bottom. I also got some pink Himalayan sea salt so I've left them on my worktop as they look nice. I made some of your mincemeat, it was lovely and I also used the ready made pastry like you did. It was so much easier and quicker. I would just like to thank you both for all the recipes and tips from last year. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year
Hi Martin and Sharon Well what can i say apart from good wholesome food and you cooked it to perfection, you have given me hunger pangs 😄😄😄. I like your video's you both gel well together. Happy New Year to you both , and i look forward to your next vlog
Very tasty stuff matin and sharon and the family and your lovely dogs Happy new year you guys are the best you bring joy to everyone Phil & Jackie In stoke
We had that boxing day, love it with brown sauce, I let it catch (not quiet burn)on bottom, but I call it it snickles , But don't matter what its called, still tastes great, thousands of ppl would of just binned all the left over veg,(save it n use again) ,x
I copied your recipe for your Christmas cake in the air fryer, it was very moist and truly delicious. For years I’ve followed Delias recipe done in the oven and never really enjoyed it, always really dry, so yours has been a triumph, thank you xx
Omg my family tradition was cold meats, bubble and squeak and pickles as the families went to the pub and the men did boxing day dinner I miss those days
I cut mine up the same but I think you made it much better. Yes the trick to get crispy bits is not keep messing with it. I allow the bottom to brown, mix, then brown again, over and over. I like to simmer my leftover turkey or any meat in some broth. I'm glad I'm not the only one to forget part of the meal.
That bubble and squeak was a candidate for the air fryer if formed into fish cake sized portions. Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. Happy New Year both. Love the videos. Ray and Sue@ Ray and Sues Travel Channel.
Love bubble and squeak. But never made it, wish I had now. Thanks for another great video. Missed the " you know, don't you, lol. Look forward to.seeing your curry. :-)
Loved this video martin will check out the northeners on tour as i used to have a big motorhome long time ago,and im surprised you and shaz dont get your own one?debs xx and happy new year you 2 diamonds 💎 💎
Happy New Year to the Butler Family. I'm looking forward to the coming vids using the Ninja Foodi multi cooker, as I also got my Ninja 14 in 1 just before Christmas, an upgrade from my 2014 unbranded non air fryer PC/Multicooker which I loved and is still going strong, but will go to my holiday van. I'm sure to learn some new and innovative ideas from Sharon, and I know I'll get a giggle from Martin's gourmet reviews. Keep it up, I'm in Australia & Love your Work Guys it's always drool worthy 🤤 Also the Bread on Steam Bread in the Ninja is so good you won't be buying from the shops again ever!!

Excellent advice 👍
Thank you, for that information. I hadn’t thought about that, but it’s so logical. We’re stupid, don’t think.
@@Willowsmum not stupid at all!! It’s a stove so you cook on it……it surprised me during the investigation that it was simply an oversized frying pan that led to the failure.
It looks like an induction hob (I have the same) It only heats where the pan touches.
Lovely ..... nothing nicer than a little bit of old fashion bubble and squeek 🍽😋👌
Love Bubble, I normally make smaller round patties, dust with flour, then you can freeze them for weeks! 👍
Just love you two, just ordinary, no frills, but so entertaining.
Brings back memories of my old granny we used to have bubble & squeak every Monday for tea 👌👌👌
Thank you, never seems to amaze me ,I learn something different every time I watch your channel.
Guys you nearly made me cry, cause that was my Daddy’s “speciality” on St Stephens Day, and it was perfect!
