As I undrestand, complete landing gear is based on Falco's gear, modified a bit and made of titanium. The prototype had Sequoia Falco landing gear. Btw, Falco is still my favourite aeroplane. EVER!
I understand that gear and flap extension speeds are 108 knots, which is quite low for a high-performance airplane, and gear cycling time is also slow.
I’m kind of old-fashioned, but old planes will have a place for a long time due to the cost of a new aircraft, and if this is what modern aircraft will be like, I doubt I’ll have any complaints.
@@Rocco-tb9ih Not aesthetically. Practically, yes, it is very well designed. But I do not like how it looks. I prefer aircraft that look utilitarian, almost tough, like the DHC2 (my profile picture.) I know these aircraft are often not aerodynamically clean, and inefficient, but that’s what I like aesthetically.
@@owencarey2954 Ah interesting. I'm very young so naturally I'm biased towards the modern looks that this plane has, but I do see what you mean. I'm training in a Piper at the minute and I suppose it does look more robust in a way
@@Rocco-tb9ih I’m actually quite young too. It’s just that I learned about aviation through aircraft from the Second World War primarily. It gave me appreciation for old fashioned design language. In any case, congrats on having begun your training.
@@MonicaHolly143 this thing was made to look good. Which I will admit, this thing looks sleek af. But for 640k+ you have a lot better options than a little 4 seater single. Both performance wise, and looks wise.
@@redactedrider7606 I don’t think you really do. Eventually it’s gonna hit the used market and when it does there’s not a lot of other planes that can compete for the fuel efficiency and cruise performance beside the DA 50RG but that’s also like 1.2 million brand new maybe it might not haul as much as some other planes but not many compete in fuel efficiency for power
The problem with this plane is the weak tail strength, that’s why the “never exceed speed” is very very close to the high power cruise speed of 195 kts. Push the nose fwd to descend for landing and your In trouble. The other problem is the engine cooling, it always overheats in climb out in warm climates.
Im not surprised. Those intakes are just too small. It is an absolutely beautiful air frame and incredibly efficient. I have a feeling they are betting on the electric versions down the road.
@tropicthndr Surprising how much armchair pilots know about a product that is not yet certified and is of yet only experimental. Wow, you are a SUPER-GENIUS!
the selling point isn't that it's big, it's that it's fast, efficient and stylish also, I'm not a *wide guy* so those seats look super comfortable regardless
The electric version of Pipistrel will revolutionize GA. The newest Li-ion battery has the same energy density as hydrocarbon fuel. Incorporating the latest battery tech into the Pipistrel means GA will be more reliable, safe, and economical. Stay with this airplane company.
have excellent only if have 6 seat one engine cheap plane less than 100k $ ewery people can buy and fly. but if not have, not excellent not smart not good.
The nose gear is from the F.8L Falco, which we sold from our Sequoia Aircraft Corp to homebuilders and also to Pipistrel.

Excellence all round. What I want for Xmas.
It's a badass, but isn't the high panel a problem with forward vision especially when landing?
I've heard it's very high.
It’s made for pilots not for rookies

Althogh the 200 knots/hrs Cruse speed is significant, DA-40 is still my choice.

Who is the intended customer for this? Just curious.
Potential Cirrus customers that want something different but also not as proven.
I was only talking about the nose gear, which is unchanged.
Just waiting for the lotto to send some $$ my way haha
I need a printed tee shirt of the Panthera.
Let me guess I could buy my own private jet and a military trainer for the price of 1 of these. Looks really good though.
Edit: I was right.
You could buy a retired fighter jet for the price of one of these, ignore the maintenance costs😳
@@AidenBrown429 Hope to afford a F-4 Phantom someday.
You can't afford to actually fly and maintain those though.

Why are we still developing planes that use Avgas
Their sales is lacking, I contacted both the old and new US dealers and neither replied back to my inquiries.

You routinely dive bomb the runway ? 😂
SO one thing , in this video this thing taxies up next to a cessna 150 and doesnt look much bigger LOL this thing is way small
