hey man thanks for this it, that's actually what I did a few months ago when my hd wasn't mounting. Connected to windows and worked again. But now it's failing again. What do you recommend?I don't have access to windows every so often. Thanks a lot!
Probably now it is no longer the same trivial problem. Something else may be going on, which requires more advanced troubleshooting. Not sure what equipment you have, how technical you are, etc.

what drive would you recommend buying that failed less ,I purchased these and they failed
@@brianwynn10 They all fail. Strategize on making backups rather than relying on the reliability of any one drive model, brand, etc.
