  • First river test on my jon boat setup (part 1). 1232 jon paired with the SPS swamp runner kit, powered by a harbor freight predator 212 engine with a 6 1/4" prop. I look angry but the sun was in my eyes, if only I had sunglasses lol

I have the same size boat, currently with a new, 6 HP Suzuki Outboard which I do enjoy, but I'm also looking to get a mud motor for the shallower and more isolated creeks and waterways. Thanks for the video. I was most impressed to see that you seemed perfectly capable of sitting while running along. That is pretty important to me.

Great video, I just picked up a project 1232 that needs some TLC. I plan to put that exact motor on there. If you don’t mind me asking, about how much do you weigh and are you pleased with the performance? Anything you would change or do different? I’ve got a river that looks identical to that and its really shallow in places with rocks. Thanks !

I am about 170. I'm very pleased with the performance still. I've taken that boat all over the place at this point. I ended up upgrading the size of my propeller, which helped the takeoff speed and top speed noticeably. The setup is perfect for a solo fisherman. If your riding two people, don't expect to carry much gear. As long as you keep the load light, this is a very fun and capable rig.

Picked up the motor yesterday. Used stock 212cc on a Mud Skipper kit with 3 blade 7", curious to see how it performs @@Travis-FNG

How much that motor weigh by itself? How much The whole setup cost? I got a 6hp yamaha 4 stroke on my 1236 that does 8-9mph with 2 ppl. I need better speed. Ever had 2 on that? Mph if so

What was your top speed? U ever gps it? Thinking about this setup for a couple rivers I drag my outboard on. I'm 1236 but semi v. Had this set up over 20yrs

    • @Travis-FNG

GPS'd at 19 mph down stream with a very light load. In a 12×36 semi-v I would expect 15-16 mph. I love this setup so much. Very nimble and can go anywhere
