  • Can you take a Swamp Runner long tail up a small creek?
    I've been in a good size river with my long tail, but I've been wanting to try some tight places. Us locals call this the little Choctawhatchee river but it's really more like a creek than a river lol. It can be done but you really have to be careful and pick your path wisely!

      I was with a group of three that kayaked down that stretch last November, and there was one serious cross-channel jam. It took us about ten minutes to get all three kayaks through it. I'm pretty sure it was the one where he got his propeller shaft stuck in this video. Be careful.

    That's a beautiful section of river. At 5:17 you encountered the cross-channel tree-jam that tipped me over on March 27, 2022. The sawed-off limb at 5:47 is the one I sawed off to clear a path for the three kayakers behind me before I got to work on the main tree. I have been kayaking for over 30 years and this tree was the only obstacle that has ever knocked me out of my kayak. The main tree was the culprit. Thanks for this excellent video.

    I’ve been looking at buying a small set up like this for taking my 4yr old out in some of the smaller stuff like this (and a little bigger). We trout/fly fish on the river a lot, but I need a “beater” for stuff like this. How shallow will that run? Any stability issues with the 36”? I have only been looking at 42 and 48” because I thought the 36” would be too narrow.

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  4 месяца назад

      The 36" isn't the most stable boat lol. It's nice and light for moving around but when there's 2 people in it you can definitely tell it if someone moves around. If you can find a 42 I think it would be a little better for fishing especially if you're standing up fly fishing. I'm by myself most of the time so the 36 works pretty good for me but it would be nice to have a little more room when someone is with me. I have another video on my channel to show you just how shallow you can get with it. I bought a fly reel and rod last year but it's still in the package lol I really need to get it out and play with it some.

    Made it was almost a tank of gas. This way my brother measures things I ask him what kind of mileage do you get out of your jeep he says I can go from here to Abilene and back on a tank..., so I asked how big is a tank, he had no idea ...so there you go. This clip is not exactly a battery burner but it's pretty close.

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  Год назад

      Yeah I guess l got to see how many hours it takes to burn out a tank which is a gallon tank on the 420 predator. With that said there is a lot of variables to a test like that weight and speed just to name a few. Thanks for watching!

    What throttle handle/control do you have?

    • @Bamaoutdoors
      @Bamaoutdoors  Месяц назад +1

      It's very unique but really not hard to replicate for any setup. The swamp runner tapers at the end and it's the perfect size for a weed eater shaft so I'm sure any weed eater throttle would work. Maybe this video will help.
