Thank you for the review. Really interesting to hear your opinion. Some reviewers said m11 not very different than m11 but as i believe in your truthfull opinion i trust you more. I like my m11 but for him you need to have not bright or dry headphones. Other way it will be too bright, good technically but not to the musical side. M11 pro seems moved to the side i like more. Perhaps it has more low end than m11 which i would like to have with my msr7b ( these possibly you haven't heard or heard but not reviewed as it's renewed version of msr7.). Now thinking which way to go, change source or change headphones. As i am in love with audiotechnica sound, and like m11 control ( when combined with controlled nature of msr sound it becomes control lover juicy dream) but still i like also good mass in the low end ( controled way as it is done by msr7) with m11 it isn't alway enough for me. So quess m11 pro could improve this. Also would like to know btr5 is more bright than m11 or is it to the warmer side, and which of them has more low end as a source? Because i really thinking to get such small device for outside with balanced out. Still thinking what good sounding small dac to choose for for my msr to make sound in low end more balance or better say more colourful and powerful. Thanks for your honest opinion.
Well, in short, I hear the difference between M11 regular and Pro version. It's not huge, as they share a similar signature, but M11 Pro is indeed "M11 but better" Also, M11 Pro has more weight too, so it will add more mass. At the same time, I can't tell, if it is enough, when I've tested MSR7, they didn't change much on the lows with source, preserving their own signature with slight variations. So, maybe a bit less bright headphones can be a better choice, but unfortunately, I can't recommend any model (didn't have inexpensive cans for a long time). As for BTR5, it's about the same in terms of brightness with M11 (maybe with a slight difference), so if you want a warmer BT source, probably it's better to try Shanling UP4, it's a bit worse in terms of UX, but it's warmer. and actually, with it, you can try if a warmer source can improve your experience with MSR7 or you need another pair of cans
@@PortaFi thanks for this suggestion, up4 perhaps one of possible alternatives to btr5. And you are right msr have tendency to keep their special tuning even when source is changed. That's not very often to see. As i like msr tuning this is good to know. Of course more drastical way to change signature is to use with some dacs that have bass boost to add mass and warmth in low end but this usually changes all tuning to worse so i try to avoid this when possible. But with m11 4.4 balanced msr7b is really really good for my taste. So if i only had option to add a little bit more mass to low end it could be ideal for my ears. So as you heard btr5 is it similar ammout of low end as with m11? Because that brightness similar to m11 isn't bad but i understand that btr5 represents the same fiio tendencies to make low end less dominant in their tuning what i hear from their latest devices. And this way up4 with stronger low end could be better choice for me. So once more thanks for good reviews as always giving us possibility to know about stuff what we are not able to hear yet.

basically, it's a simple :) M11 Pro is more technical dap: more resolving, with better control, better texturing (especially on the ends of spectrum). while SR15 has that A&K coloration aka "fluid mids" :) so, do you want a "younger brother" for an Ultima? or do you want to try something new with a different signature and approach to the sound :)

Question is this or sp15 for portable at work set up?
M11p>DX160>M11>SR15
basically, it's a simple :) M11 Pro is more technical dap: more resolving, with better control, better texturing (especially on the ends of spectrum). while SR15 has that A&K coloration aka "fluid mids" :)
so, do you want a "younger brother" for an Ultima? or do you want to try something new with a different signature and approach to the sound :)
@@PortaFi I think the sp15 may be better for me even though most would probably prefer the M11 pro. I'm also pondering on iems for my work set up, dunu 3000 pro, audiosense t800 or do you have recommendations for a multi genre listener,?!
@@garygriffiths7353 I'd assume you'll enjoy DK-3001 Pro more, as they are more neutral, while T800 is also really great, but more V-shaped in tuning. But it's just a projection of my thoughts on your hypothetical preferences :)
This or dx220 for andromeda green?
well, subjectively, I like M11 Pro a bit more, as it's adding a bit more weight
but it's a matter of preferences if you want maximum resolution and neutrality, DX220 will be a better choice for you
Porta.Fi thanks for your response. For dx160? I need more fun, not critical listening.
Im genuinlly surprised there is so much good feedback for this - The 'Middle' of the sound is great but there is sad lack of sub bass and quality bass over all - The highs end is very poorly done - cymbals are almost like an afterthought - Was not impressed, although I have yet to be impressed by the AKM...they just dont seem to sound natural :/
probably more forward treble of Sabres fits your taste more
@@PortaFi Funny you say that, that's my conclusion as well. Just bought a Hiby R3 for a run around DAP - Love its sound. Bought a few different DAPs but nothing sounded quite right or 'natural' - I just think its only Sabre chips that work for me! After a fair few hundreds hours Im very happy with the Dx200 :) Hopefully I will win the Lottery and be able to buy a DX220 - Thanks for the tip, appreciate it buddy
thank you for your feedback once again
Idk why I am watching this lol. I can’t even afford the FIIO m5 or FIIO m6.
well, either you like my accent (most often reason actually), or you're just setting you targets in life and in some not so far future you'll get yourself a SP2000 with Erlikongs :)
@@PortaFi haha I can't disagree. The accent does play a part 😂🙌
Thanks for your kind words. Hope i get to own sp2000 soon 💪

FIIO M11 pro not supporting apple music!!! It sucks!!!
Apple Music requires higher Android version
My old portable DAC , pioneer cop-300R and my ONKYO DPX1 is android 5.0 accepts Apple Music. What the heck, then I will have to subscribe again to tidal and drop Apple Music #*%€;(. I hate politics.
@@guitarshred863 yep, I'm also an Apple Music user, and devices without support of this service irritates me :)
@@PortaFi how about the FiiO m15? Does it support Apple Music?
More power to you and your RUclips channel.
It comes at price of an iPhone , fiio is getting expensive.
compared to A&K and other flagships, FiiO is still really modest :)
@@PortaFi that is true , what i meant is fiio line up started cheap now they have become premium.
I started with fiio x3 3rd gen now i want to upgrade M11 and sell my last one but M11 come at 46000 rupee in India and i was just wondering M11 pro and M15 will cost double of that. That is equivalent to my 2 months salary.
Example : i got fiio E10k for 5000 now its upgrade is twice the money.
And fiio haven't released any mid tier devices for common consumers like me for a long time even their headphone are getting a premium tag.
@@moonabhinav Can't totally agree here, they've got affordable devices: M5 and M6, BTR5, and so on. And their sub-brand Jade Audio is going to release a $60 dap
@@PortaFi m5 , m6 are good but for me they would not be a good upgrade over my fiio x3, but i didn't knew about jade audio will check them on ali-express thanks to let me know. I really hope i could find a good upgrade for my fiio x3.
@@moonabhinav well, yes, to get an "upgrade" over X3 you need to consider at least m9
