She is a great singer, but she needs a better song writer. Most of her songs don't properly utilize her amazing vocal range or lyrically stand out from the thousands of other female artists in this genre.

Ahahahah seriously 🤣 I think you fail to understand complexity she adds in her lyrics whilst keeping the lines coherent and true to herself!!! I hear very few songswriters that are “actually” able to do this!!! Most songwriters will impress you with their wordplay and metaphors often at the expense of true feeling and coherence!!! And Lisa is probably my favourite writer because of her ability to combine all of the above not only successfully but honestly too
At first I couldn’t appreciate her writing because I was too busy watching some super adorable person steal my heart in the video 😅 but trust me, when you actually start listening the complexity I’d there !!!

@@michaelpye83 I have to disagree. I like her voice but her songs are far from blowing me away. I listened to her again yesterday for a few hours and enjoyed her music, but then I switched to some other artists and it was very evident that her songs still lack refinement. Nobody can deny she has an amazing voice, but there is a reason she is not more popular as a solo artist and her original songs are obscure and only listened to by cult fans.

Well at least you know what a good voice sounds like 😉 but seriously Saying her writing still needs refinement when it’s her first album!! (There’s 2 more studio albums by the way 🤣🤣🤣) just shows your lack of listening experience with this very fine writer!!! And yet even her first album wipes the floor with soo many other writers “more refined albums” …. Question…. Is there a drop the mic emoji? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤣🤣🤣

@@brandon-alcocer I guess it's different strokes for different folks to some extent, but in general I agree with Michael on this. There are plenty of songwriters who write stuff that's catchy or appealing for a broad audience, but if you think that's what Lisa is aiming for it's possible that you don't really get her. I actually agree with you that she could be more commercially successful than she is by recording other people's material, but that's really not her gig and never has been. She makes precisely the music she wants to make, and if you and thousands of others are not turned on by that, I think she's fine with that. I seriously dislike the term "cult" (I suspect Lisa would as well), but her true fans appreciate the feeling and coherence Michael referred to in his first reply.

Errr one second while I pick the mic back up 😅 ……… and about the popularity thing!!!!!!! Some of the UK’s and Ireland’s best writers are not “that famous” because they don’t aim their music at at self absorbed teenagers!!! Look at the difference between writers like Ben Howard and Ed Sheeran!!! Sheeren is significantly more famous but Howard’s talent both as a musician and writer, exceeds what sheeran could even dream of being capable of!!! And if he was being honest he would probably admit as much himself!!!
