Thank you so much for this video!! I took off the plastic part from my bottle cap and haven't been able to put it on correctly. Whenever I shook my bottle or had it sideways, water would start leaking out and I thought it might be the end of the life for my bottle that lasted 4 years. After watching your video I put it on the other way and now it's all tight and doesn't spill!
Thanks for this video. This is the only thing I found that explained how to reset the gasket. Mine feel out the other day while I was washing it and everything I did ended up with a slow leak. Then you explained that I had put it in upside down
Gotta be smarter then that, even though you plan on using it again right away, putting something wet over that inner part that doesn’t get wet (the plastic part that is against the lid) can cause mold, so it probably is smart to fully dry everything before doing that. You could of even took a paper towel or a blow drier to do that as well
Hi people, just a squirt of hydrogen peroxide will clean the flask. Shake it up. Then use hot water, usually about 140 degrees inside the flask shake it up then rinse. All done.
Do not clean anything you plan on eating or drinking out of with bleach. Most often times you don’t need something as strong as bleach to clean with anyways
Thanks! For a video that was uploaded 4 years ago. Recently bought a bottle and noticed today after a few months that there's some dark moudly stuff building up arund the rubber, was wondering how clean the cap!
For just water and ice... once a day. For ice coffee, coffee, milk based, shakes or soft drinks, after i finish, and definitely before making a new drink. 😉👍
You’ll ruin the insulation! Don’t do it! From HF website: “*You shouldn’t:* Put your flask through the dishwasher or soak the exterior in hot water: The dishwasher can get hot enough to affect the insulation property of the flask as well as discolor the powder coat. Similarly, soaking your entire flask in hot water can discolor the powder coat.”
I had my hydro flask for around 6 years now. Mine had that flip up straw lid. I think I brought it home for my wife to wash twice. Although every few months I’ll take out the mouthpiece and gasket and clean it out. Always filled with dirt and stuff. Sometimes the dirt is red, maybe some kind of mold?
you seriously need to wait for the cap and gasket to dry. you just spent all that time cleaning it, why waste it by creating the perfect environment for bacteria??
1. I don't want to damage my bottle design, its a limited edition. 2. I wash a full load every 3 days, so it only takes 2 minutes to wash by hand. 3. The lid gasket still has to be removed to be cleaned.

Yeah... i had to call Hydroflask to confirm about the seal. You can also remove the seal with a fork.

Bleach works pretty well too. What about alcohol?
@@admiralhood8646 why would you put bleach on your tumbler..💀💀
@@admiralhood8646 don't use bleach or alcohol to clean the interior of the flask. lol wtf

Hi is it ok to use those green pads to clean it? Will it damaged the stainless steel?
How do you remove the mold from the gasket? I already tried using baking soda and vinegar but it's still there.
Replace it
Ive tried it as well
Ayo this was super helpful thanks for the vid 🙏

@@SterlingW8do you take the rubber gasket out every time you wash your bottle?
@@renda4806 yes
@@SterlingW8 wouldn't there be a wear and tear to the rubber over time?
Do you know what would happen if I was to put a hydro through the dishwasher? with everything going on, I just want it to get a good clean
Bottle brush is probably the best way to clean it. If theres any build up, the scrubbing will do it.

Don't know... cleaning frequently is better
Thank you helpful 🥰😍
when I wash mine why there's few more drop of water inside it's not dripping down even I put it upside down to dry it?
Water tension. Air dry or use a dish cloth.
Can you show how to clean the standard mouth? Does the standard mouth lid come apart like this one?
It still has the gasket. I open the cap halfway to clean.
I haven’t use or clean my hydro for a year and mold was in it.
Like tiny floating mold
Knowledge is power 🤣
Mine taste like metal for some reason idk why
Can know what means soapy water. I know is a bit dumb but I just to confirm
i use a drop of dish washing liquid soap. Then rinse very thoroughly until all the soap and suds are gone.
@@SterlingW8 thank you for your help. Now can use the flask safely
Cant really hear your voice. You should edit out the background noise
why is the brush sold by hydroflask is so expensive tho???
Cuz brand. 😆

Lol 😆 i clean it every night. Not worried at all.
@@SterlingW8 then literally what was the point of cleaning it if you “don’t care at all”. It’s either an important step, or don’t include it..
Why not run it in the dishwasher which will sterilize with heated water?

I hear those brushes are too abrasive to the bottle so it will ruin it sooner
If a $45 stainless steel bottle cant handle a standard bottle brush, then its all hype and marketing. I prefer a clean bottle. 😌
Dude dishwashing liquid and sponge do exists 😂😂😂
Your audio is horrible! All I can hear clearly is the water and the hydro banging around. Your voice is muffled……
Thks
How do you remove the mold from the gasket? I already tried using baking soda and vinegar but it's still there.
It maybe too late. I use hot water dishwashin liquid to rub it off before it eats into the silicone gasket.
@@SterlingW8 Oh I see. I wanted to try a little chlorine but I'm afraid it may damage the gasket.
@@SterlingW8 let it soak for a day in the vinegar and baking soda
I noticed when I put a tea bag inside it stains and leaves mold marks on the gaskets. Anyone else has this issue?
