On Saturday, March 1, 2008, more than 2,000 people streamed into the Meyerson Symphony Center. Not only were they treated to an inspiring speech by Dr. Maya Angelou, but also to two solid hours of amazing and life-changing experiences.
Hope for Peace & Justice www.h4pj.org and Cathedral of Hope www.cathedralofhope.com, honored one of the greatest peacemakers of our time, Dr. Maya Angelou, with the first "Voices of Peace" award in recognition of a life lived in the pursuit of peace and justice. Dr. Angelou was humble, humorous and inspiring - a truly phenomenal woman.

She is the reason why I do not believe in the Nobel Prize. She deserves it but she did not get it. She is a full human being.... self-actualized!
*I will not altogether dismiss the Nobel Prize, as some of those who received it/were awarded really did and do deserve it. But I am in agreement with you that, indeed, she deserved and should've gotten the Nobel Peace Prize, or Nobel Prize in Literature.*
