While I understand the "unspoken" agreement I'm a logical guy by nature.
I think in dealing with a filipina at the start of a relationship I'd prefer to have the conversation about both our expectations.
Number 1 on my list of needs is honesty.
I don't like lies. I wouldn't be happy if she blamed or held me responsible for the way other men may have treated her.
If I piss her off I need to know why. How do you fix a problem if you don't know what the problem is?
I'm not going to be rushing into any relationship but when I do, especially after seeing this, we will be having the conversation about expectations and I will be pointing out "I travelled 8,000 miles and this is what I'm hoping to find. What do you expect?"
If you take the time to speak about the unspoken agreement there's very little room for any misunderstanding.
I've learned a great deal from this and other channels from the Philippines.

Calvin, I love seeing Marilyn in these talks. It really helps me understand the Fillipina mindset. In one of your other video's with her you asked her if she was happy and she said. "No, I'm not happy, I'm SUPER HAPPY!" That statement right there told me more than a 100 video. Really that's all we are really craving...happiness. You checked all of Marilyn's boxes and she checked yours. You are right Marilyn is very intelligent and she know what's important to her.

My partner and I got together around the same parameters. Its great to see the Philippines still knows what time it is. Even though, I tell her to "check the clock," sometimes when she brings up bs to start something. It actually makes us both check ourselves and sort of come to a laughing resolution. 👍 great video Calvin.
Hey Calvin, I’m 69 years old and I can understand what your saying. I grow up in the Christian western culture and I was brought up to believe to find a good woman get married, provide a safe home and food for your family. My wife takes care of me and the children and the home. That is the unspoken agreement in most cultures as far as I can see. From my experience it’s like a law of nature and when that law is broken, the culture falls into ruins. I believe the is what we are seeing in the western culture today. Calvin, I believe your a man of wisdom and compassion and I love listening to your thoughts and opinions about your experiences. We are all human and I believe our experiences shape the souls we have become. Thank you for your vlogs, the young generation and learn from your experiences.

This thing called unspoken agreement is actually LOVE LANGUAGE. The LANGUAGE of LOVE by nature is not verbal, it doesn't have to have words to it. LOVE DOESN'T ASK WHY, IT SPEAKS FROM THE HEART, IT NEVER EXPLAINS...LOVE LANGUAGE is not English, French, German, Tagalog, Cebuano, Mandarin, Zulu etc., it is a Universal Language that manifest by way of Action. ❤😊

I have followed your advice and have thrown many back LOL. We have discussed certain aspects of a relationship and I feel the understanding from them. I do this not to brag or to try to be a player, I chat with several women of various ages to gain a good understanding about how these ladies think. Why would I ever need to message your lady, unless you told me to ask her something you didn’t know about. Another situation, a friend of mine is not on Facebook, but his wife is. I may comment on a picture, but it’s very very rare that I send a private message or text.

Can you talk about how hard it is to be faithful as your woman ages and her looks fades? I’ve always been told if you love someone you won’t cheat, I have never believed this. The word love in terms of relationship means so many things. For example as your woman starts to show her age, do you find it more difficult to stay faithful when so many beautiful and younger Filipinas are willing to take her place, even for one night?

Love is a commitment of your will. This is what love is. It's not a commitment to your own pleasure over your partner or a commitment to your eyes and lust. If so don't get married is my advice

I disagree with you that it is about a commitment of my will. That would mean I am always in a struggle against myself to prevent hurting the woman I love, because there is temptation out there, love will not stop temptation. Humans are the only animals that I know of that not only have one partner, but one partner for years, so one could argue that it’s not normal. I don’t like feeling stuck with someone, all in the name of love. I define love by happiness, happiness is what brings the love and what keeps the love, the happier we are, the more we love, the less likely we are to go astray. If there isn’t true happiness, cheating will most certainly happen if given the chance. The fear of losing true happiness in and with a partner, is what will truly prevent cheating, if you feel like you have nothing to lose you will cheat, because when we cheat there is always the likelihood it will get found out.

It's not a knock on the oldest profession in the world, but in any form of business a transaction is in essence an agreement. Legally if you don't rebuttal a claim, you're by default, entering into an agreement by your silence.

I don't know if it's truly an unspoken agreement. Of course the two parties in the relationship know that the bedroom activities come along with the meeting and disproportionately on the first meeting between the foreigner and Filipina than in the west. I know I talked to my wife before I made the trek to meet about whether she would stay with me in the hotel. Typically the younger/innocent the Filipina is when you meet will bring friends or family with her to meet you out of concern for her safety. Once she feels comfortable with the guy she will discreetly ask the strap hangers to excuse themselves from the situation.

The interesting thing I've noticed about you guys is that you both have intense and passionate personalities. You two were definitely and absolutely meant for each other. Lol.
Nothing like the old fashioned, traditional ways--to a certain extent. Is the man really the head of the family? Does modern culture teach him HOW to be? That's one thing. Yes, he is expected to be a provider, but also to be a leader when it comes to the family spending. A good woman will prioritize the family, her kids, husband, and their support structure. Things start to fall apart if/when that is not the case. So limits MUST be set. In the beginning this might lead to a lot of tampo, if there are unrealistic expectations. Also, the biggest trap is looking out at what others have or do and COMPARING YOURSELF. Be on guard for the 'green eyed monster,' which is forever hungry for more, and exhibits unhappiness and dissatisfaction when its unrealistic expectations are not met. This is the make or break phase for any relationship. Financial harmony is a must, and will enter into all dimensions of the relationship, especially intimacy and sex. Speaking to that, you hear some women here joke: "I'm already expired,' meaning they don't want sex anymore. A friend of mine here told me when his wife said that he replied, "That's fine sweetheart, there are many others here, who are not yet expired." She got the message. :P In any relationship the woman will sh*t test the man, and perhaps the man test the woman. Sh*t tests/probes for your limits/weakness. Always try to catch the signs.

This topic ties into a question I've been asking all of these vloggers and getting no response maybe because they don't want to put their girl on the spot, or sow doubt about the "purity" of the relationship, but when they get accused of being a sucker in the comments and that their young attractive girl isn't in love with them they have to make it a point to ramble on about all of the things she does to prove that she's bonkers about a guy 50 yrs older & talk about how she orders the cheapest thing on the menu at dinner, so that proves she's not a golddigger. It's so stupid & they look like desperate fools. My take is this: If this woman is going above and beyond to successfully make you the happiest that you've ever been... Who gives a damn if she's only in it for the $ & comfortable living? If deep down in her heart, she's pretending, it affects me zero. If a woman can put on a performance that good until the day I die.. perfect. Money well spent. It's like the best part of the day is enjoying your favorite cup of Maxwell House coffee on the porch every morning, that turns out was Folgers for all those decades, but you never knew, or ever even found out -so what's the difference.? You're never going to know 100% if it's love, but you damn well know what happy is. Maybe the long-con is just as good, but without the insane jealousy. Peace man. ✌️

My previous fiance, Cambodian Thai did not know or obey the unspoken agreement while I was. When I caught her on Facebook with other guys oh, that was pretty much telling me the end. When she said so don't you have any money, and getting demanding about building a house, to her liking oh, that was when the decision instantly appeared know this one's not coming back to USA with me. Too bad because my buddy married her mom and now she is in the US. As well as her running me blindsided into her new boyfriend who is a POS stunk like cigarettes wheezing coughing and obviously hungover. I told him directly I don't want her she's all yours and you could tell me thank you for teaching your English and spending a lot of money on every piece of clothes she's now wearing good luck. The funny part was I heard through the grapevine it took about a year for her to stop calling me Daddy and certainly that must have driven the new boyfriend nuts. Fools get what they get🙏🙏

What’s up black man been watching your videos for a while, I just touched down in Manila two days ago, I like this BGC area but I saw your last meet up video so put the word out the next one you have I’m there wherever it is for now just trying to get settled into my new life peace!
I was kinda wondering; what happens if you take a filipina who is maybe a little prettier than average with a nice body, (maybe a 6+), and she is transformed into a 8, 9 or10 because of the "unspoken agreement" and you've given her a nicer place to live, better clothes, sent her to the salon/spa where she learns to properly use the makeup you bought her, and a gym membership for her body? Then; all of the sudden she becomes a magnet for every slick expat or, young good looking local guy who would have normally walked right past her. Some of those women can't deal with the attention as well a Marilyn seems to have done. And I doubt if you can tell upfront which ones can. With that new attention, she may start to think she can get a "better deal" because she's now "hot", and forget about who gave her the upgrade in the first place. "Unspoken agreement" broken!
Men's groups are talking a lot about this now. They even have a term for it when women are looking to upgrade their status. There is a saying here in the Philippines: "Don't get too attached to anything here, since you might have to leave it all at a moment's notice." If you happen to find a woman of truly good character, she won't 'monkey branch' to someone else. Such a lady is gold, and worth holding onto. If she's young, pretty, NO KIDS, she has a LOT of options when it comes to men (whether she realizes it or not). If she is staying with you (especially if you're much older), there has to be a very strong psychological/spiritual connection that you share. Another Big mistake IMV, as an older man, is finding a very young lady with no kids and expecting she'll never want a family. I've seen this lead to many conflicts/divorce, where the man is fixed, and she suddenly changes her mind. Most Filipina will want a family or kids of her own. And a lot of older guys want nothing to do with this!
be ready for the short-term lover. remember love comes easy on the island. save your money on housing. lease only. move around, be free. find your next new lover if she wants another. just go with the flow...
I am having difficult time understanding how a beautiful 27-year-old Filipina with two kids can be interested in a relationship with me, a 70-year-old. I feel like this is not really possible and that i am being played for a fool. The Philippines Statistics Authority reports that 58.4% of Filipino households are considered low income/poor by Filipino standards. Household income of 24,164 php a month ($436 USD) or less.
So many Filipinas are in the low income to poor class. Especially single mothers with kids. This is the unspoken agreement. You lift them out of poverty ,they will take care of you.
Even Calvin's woman was a single mother with 2 kids living with her mother. She met Calvin he provided for her, bought her a house. She is extremely loyal and dedicated to him. The unspoken agreement. You provide, she takes care of you.
When you are poor it is all about utility not love. Just be careful and not get used too much or risk money you can't afford to lose. Set your limits/boundaries.

It is funny my wife has heath problems but she mention she wants her way and said she would take half my stuff because I have not found a way to get my son his own place so I said I will just go to the Philippines and she you are not going to get a wife from there we have been married 26 years but if I outlive her I probably will come to the Philippines if the culture stays the same and my health holds up
Nice video I bought a ticket for $1,599 roundtrip to Manila to go see my gf I met on fb almost a year and a half ago and was to go there May 8th but decided not going as I'm 72 yrs old and see is 45 and I just am afraid of that 27 hr flight with layovers going and coming and my health not great and afraid I may get sick or injured there. I may be missing something that I will regret and will lose my money for the plane ticket but maybe in the near future can just bite the bullet and do it. Damn this lonely life in South Carolina sucks but just not willing to risk what might happen there. Also I can't eat rice three meals a day like she does and seeing your previous video of it being blazing hot there right now not sure I want to go there and have a freaking heat stroke or heart attack. Your wife seems very nice so you did good. By the way I was just approved by the PACT act because I was in Southeast Asia during herbicide spraying and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009 so getting an extra $1000 a month.
