On this episode of Fake News, the show where we debunk Kremlin propaganda, your host Valeria Ratnikova will introduce you to some of the most popular artists who not only support the war in Ukraine but manipulate the Russians' feelings to convince them that it wasn't Russia that started the war and that truth is on Russia's side.

Great job as always! Do you also plan on doing a video on recent Russian films, particularly historical ones? I watched 'Salyut 7' and 'The Admiral' (which portrayed Admiral Kolchak). Very propagandised depictions of history, and the latter was a whitewashed portrayal of a mass-murderer. The Russian people deserve better films than that.

@@tvrainnewsroom 'Salyut 7' does a real disservice to the Soviet and Russian cosmonauts, and your nation's space efforts. Particularly the international co-operation Russia once helped to foster in space. That film frames them as warriors in space, not ambassadors.

Should one not sing their country's national anthem? I didn't see that when the US invaded Iraq or Afghanistan. Or even Vietnam and Yugoslavia. It was expected that patriotic Americans fight those wars for their country. Russians are Russians and they will support their country. It is the normal thing to do.

@@AFCBFAN1 unfortunately not. The US would note nuke for Ukraine, just as it didn't dare send it's men to the war for Ukraine or impose a no-fly-zone over Ukraine. US not ready to die itself. It will just give a "strong warning" against another nuclear attack. I remember, US strongly warned Russia against the invasion in 2022 when Russia was moving troops to the border.
@@AFCBFAN1 Unlike the U.S., Russia has a "no first use" policy. Please don't confuse a stage performance with a real war. The performance is about Russians standing up and fighting back. The U.S. uses radioactive cancer-causing "depleted uranium" munitions, has miniaturized nukes the size of a backpack, and was developing plans for a first-strike on 20 Sviet cities as early as 1945.

It is a bit funny for a Dane to see these Russian Z-stars. Shaman would make a nice addition to a nineties boyband, the rest are probably chosen to cater for other preferences amongst the audience. Of course, popular art will be used for propaganda purposes. But will people really to listen to these stars, when they don't have to? Or will their eyes and ears turn to something else when in private? Unlike the Soviet period, where copied cassette tapes (samizdat ?) were said to circulate and others tried to catch some unauthorized tunes on noisy AM radios, the media- and entertainment picture in Russia must be harder to control nowadays.

l love Shaman, his voice is spectacular! Every country is doing this kind of videos. Remember Eurovision Jamala? 2016 Ukrania won that year, with an antiRussian song. We continue with Ukraine and Eurovision 2007 Verka Serduchka "I want to see Russia Goodbye" and then we have the winner of 2022 Kalush Orchestra with Ukraina. Europe praises and elevates Russophobia, 2007 and 2016 there was no war against Ukraine.
And I haven't even touched the Israeli political entries. So yes Shaman have taken party for his country but so have many Ukrainian singers engaged in the propaganda machine.
