What an amazing place..It reminds me of friends whom i stayed with up kinglake before the fires. The house was hand built and was 3 storeys high. Everything was natural and was mostly found at the tip. Back then people were throwing out antiques and lots of rugs and wood. It was an amazing house and it took them 15 yrs to build, continuously adding bits to it. The staircase was spiral and it was made from all different cuts of wood. The house was an amazing piece of art in itself. I stayed in the original bluestone x mudbrick x wood house they first built while they were building their masterpiece. We had alot of gatherings there over the years (rainbow camps as we called it. They were my fav years & i called them my happy hippy family. Nothing compares to living amongst nature..That video reminds me so much of those days. 😊
I loved the jewels around the inside of the windows, the bottles on the outside of the windows, the elephant and that tiny, adorable sink in the bathroom. Thanks for the great video! 😄✌️
What a fantastic little fridge! Crosley too. This would have been a great art studio. The glass bottle window was great, the painting very nice & the broken glass patterns on the wall too. Too bad all of it stopped suddenly.
Great retreat for an artist. Nice lighting. Like stepping back in time! Modern is sometimes too modern! Would love to see this place brought back to life. Old stuff is great.
Wow! It surprises me that there aren't more beasties and crawlies in these places,I cringe when you open up cupboards and drawers ,this being AustraliaI know I would be fearful to explore these places,I'm glad you do it,I love watching this. I live in Northern Canada by the way.we don't have all the poisonous critters like you do.
Not all hippies did drugs. It looks like these folks redid furniture. I agree this person needs to put things back where he found them. I also like him being quiet. I also liked the video and it brought back some good memories for me, an ex-hippy.
Cool digs... How's the kit home holding up? Hey, I could live there as long as the grocery store's not too far away... I spent all my Summers like that growing up...
This is a really interesting place. I was surprised to see the big room at the back. It looked like they really lived there. The artistic touches were great like the paintings and the bottles in the wall, I wonder if they had a good time drinking the wine, Jeremiah!
The same happened in the bathroom, with the stones on the counter sink. I am not ungrateful, the video was very good. Thank you for sharing. Neither Jesus Christ pleased everyone ..... so keep cool Now I will watch the video again to see if I find any cannabis plant in the yard. :-)
so funny i am a hippy and proud about it, and there is nothing in this house that for sure is a hippy house, just someone who like art, show me a shag rug, water bed, peace signs some psychedelic art ect, then maybe a hippy house, lol
Darlene Clark So you live in northern nsw and know all about the hippy lifestyle here in Australia? This is an old hippy home converted from a dairy bail and yes hippies in northern nsw do live like this and I am right in the heart of the original age of Aquarius hippy territory so I do have some idea of what hippy lifestyle is like. Thank you for watching
Did you think the people were "hippies" because of the Style of the house? They might also have just been poor or wanted to walk on the earth lightly and use recycled materials. As far as the marijuana, I hope they were growing. It has medical uses and is much better for you than drinking. And the kids would be fine. It isn't where you are raised, but how you are raised. If it is with love and education, they should turn out OK even in a weird house. I noticed your trolls are back!
Me You And this year California has...it's about flippin' time! I think pot, being a natural herb, is the one thing that NEVER should've been illegal in the first place...and I don't even smoke pot...anymore. I did for a couple years in my teens, of which was decades ago, and that was it.
I love your videos! Cant you save some of that stuff? Theres really nice pieces in these abandoned homes.not mention alot of them have so much character it makes me so sad to see them go to waste
this is what i call a simple living.. nothing fancy.. wonder whats the story behind the elephant picture.. looks an Indian painting.. i love the sunny whether you have there.. great video..
Those old refrigerators should have the door removed, children get locked inside when playing and they smother. Please go back and unscrew the door latch at least.
Hi mate thanks for sharing this, is there someway you can let me know the coordinates for this property. As with the current global situation a few other humans i have aligned with seek some refuge
I think an artist lived there and maybe a young girl? That looks like petrified wood on that tiny sink. I’m thinking that they got a bit wet when it rained. Loved it..thanks!
That's the oddest collection of stuff.. but the snow skis threw me for a loop. Why would they leave them behind.. doesn't everyone need a pair down under ? I've see people use colored bottle bottoms incased into cement before... but never the whole bottles. weird .
So you think you want to live there. Australia has the inland taipan, most venomous snake in the world that hospitalize 1,000 each year; the saltwater crockodile, largest in the world; the funnel-web spider, deadliest in the world that hospitalize 1,000 every year; thousands hospitalised each year due to venomous bites from hornets, wasps and bees. Then there is the box jellyfish and great white shark waiting in the water. Not me sister.
Dear God, Please Clean this House up and out ❤ Please fix everything that needs fixing ❤ Please make it Solerised ❤ Please fix that shed it needs help ❤ Please build a Garage ❤ Please make a Vegetable garden ❤ Please plant fruit tree's ❤ Thank you God ❤❤❤ Amen❤❤❤ We are So Very Grateful God❤❤❤
Most old Australian buildings were made with brick and even stone. But occasionally there were timber/weather board construction buildings like this one. Now days though, new buildings are not as good quality. They use a lot of Gyprock and hebel construction these days. Cheap and nasty. The old buildings are the best.
Fuck that it has to be winter for you to be doing that cause if it was summer i wouldnt be pulling things out and walking around place for fear of snakes im from the North Coast myself and that to me looked like a haven for snakes .

Yea we do have a lot of those in Australia. In particular, spiders.
Not all hippies did drugs. It looks like these folks redid furniture. I agree this person needs to put things back where he found them. I also like him being quiet. I also liked the video and it brought back some good memories for me, an ex-hippy.
LORETTA VANNATTA omg you people are crazy
It looks like they may have done upholstery. With the fabric and furniture.
Love the artwork and bottle wall!
I bet if the fridge was plugged in it would work. They made things better back then
This shack is so cool! It would be awesome to fix up and live there. I really love seeing these place up here in the Northern Rivers. thanks :)
This was a very, very interesting tour!! What a strange and unique house!! Thank you for sharing! Enjoyed! Take Care!!! :)
Cool digs... How's the kit home holding up?
Hey, I could live there as long as the grocery store's not too far away... I spent all my Summers like that growing up...
love your videos, they keep me company when I can't sleep, wish I could come along with you
What the heck makes you think that this is a hippy house?
because I live in the area and know exactly the type of person that wants an alternative lifestyle and it ain't a bank exec.
I think there was upholstery work done there.
This is a really interesting place. I was surprised to see the big room at the back. It looked like they really lived there. The artistic touches were great like the paintings and the bottles in the wall, I wonder if they had a good time drinking the wine, Jeremiah!
Maybe the roof blew off. The fabric in the closet looks like it is still good for recovering furniture.
love those upholstered chairs
Oh yeah! they were gorgeous
That was a Great Explore!
Looks like an upholstery shop.
That lovely old fridge was in great nick
First off, I bet that house was cold as heck in the winter, and I loved that bottle wall, someone took a lot of time and effort to make that!
Someone took a lot of time and effort with quite a few things, I think.
yes certainly a hippie house, like the video, memory lane for me and also like that you do not talk, makes me feel like I am there alone, thanks!!!
The same happened in the bathroom, with the stones on the counter sink.
I am not ungrateful, the video was very good. Thank you for sharing.
Neither Jesus Christ pleased everyone ..... so keep cool
Now I will watch the video again to see if I find any cannabis plant in the yard. :-)
Looks to me like these hippies were truly artists in their own right.
so funny i am a hippy and proud about it, and there is nothing in this house that for sure is a hippy house, just someone who like art, show me a shag rug, water bed, peace signs some psychedelic art ect, then maybe a hippy house, lol

Henry Williams
Now THAT I agree with you on, Henry.
Not many kids knocking about though, place looks untouched for years as it is at the 'bottom of a dead end road'.. Good point, though !
I read a comment that someone's living there now
Hi mate thanks for sharing this, is there someway you can let me know the coordinates for this property. As with the current global situation a few other humans i have aligned with seek some refuge
Someone has claimed it and is living in it now.

YahshuaLovesMe there are psychedelic murals on the wall
Conservative thinking in most cases.

Hey would you please be able to let me know about any abandoned locations in the Byron Bay Area as I am a respectful photographer, thankyou.
I think an artist lived there and maybe a young girl? That looks like petrified wood on that tiny sink. I’m thinking that they got a bit wet when it rained. Loved it..thanks!
Nice video!
I believe he or she may have been an upholsterer.
That's the oddest collection of stuff.. but the snow skis threw me for a loop. Why would they leave them behind.. doesn't everyone need a pair down under ? I've see people use colored bottle bottoms incased into cement before... but never the whole bottles. weird .

Henry Williams
Boy Henry, you're just a downer all over the place aren't you?
Someone used this for reupolstering furniture.
very odd......but interesting video.....
What is it with Australian houses? Have they not heard of bricks? They all look like they're make out of matches and sellotape!!!
Most old Australian buildings were made with brick and even stone. But occasionally there were timber/weather board construction buildings like this one. Now days though, new buildings are not as good quality. They use a lot of Gyprock and hebel construction these days. Cheap and nasty. The old buildings are the best.
