This vs the Korg SV-2? This has more features and the SV-2 has some baffling shortcomings but damn it looks and sounds nice. Wish they did the CP in white!
Very different beasts. The MODX/Montage are hella deep menu divers and primarily synths, plus from a piano perspective the touch in the CP is going to be much more piano-like (ie heavier).
Can you please demo 'pads' sound layers with grand piano like you would use on contemporary worship music. I'm trying to decide what digital piano/sync to buy for our church. Thanks
I can’t really disside on feather I should get this or the Yamaha p515 both have great sound but the thing I like about the p515 is that it has speekers which the cp88 does not have but something about the cp88 sounds a bit I don’t wanna say batter.
Kind of torn now. YC61 coming soon or cp73? Yc,s got some pretty sweet EP sounds bur also more organ options.,...but...cp has some organs too, 🤔 for the same price I think the YC wins.
I went ahead and picked up the CP88 over this memorial weekend to which I am beyond ecstatic. Having played my Korg SV-1 live on stage over the last six years and demoed several stage pianos over that same amount of time including the Nord Stage 2 & 3, I can honestly say that the CP88 is the best stage piano I've ever owned and in my opinion is the only board that is in the same league as the Korg SV-1 yet takes it to a whole another level in deep playability and rich expressiveness. Oh and for the people over at Korg: I'm sad to say that you guys dropped the ball on the further development of the Korg SV line. This should have been your board but instead, you went off the rails and decided to bring that beyond ugly AF monstrosity, the Korg Grandstage, to market. Just why the hell you went ahead to do that, I will never understand. Plus, your effects section layout on the Grandstage is stupid as fuck being that why would I want to only choose between using Delay or Reverb and not both or the fact that it takes 30 seconds to boot up? Or the super ugly vertical gray striped shit color? It's all these various stupid design choices that lead to the Grandstage being an utter flop. Korg should have stuck with the Studio Vintage concept and refined it to where it could have been the next CP88 but apparently the geniuses at Korg thought it was best to ignore the thousands of people who bought the Korg SV-1 and thus decided to drop a trash looking stage piano that looks like it was made for the home piano consumer market. In summary: Dear Korg, please get your experience and design shit together.
One electric bass sound , no mini moog bass sounds. This board has everything I ever wanted except the proper bass sounds. It's a deal breaker . Such a shame
This is going to be a smash! The sounds are bright, vibrant, and cutting edge. A classic has been born!
That's some nice lighting and videography there! (The keyboard and sounds are great, too!)
That Rhodes ❤️
such a nice rhodes yea
Aaahhh loved the intro.
George Elliot ASMR vibes :)
Okay, that's the CP73/CP88. Now we have the YC61/YC73/YC88. When are the CS61/CS73/CS88 and DX61/DX73/DX88 coming out?

I like this better than the Modx but in fairness.. it’s because I have the Montage already. Anywho - this is going to be a winner!

Yamaha simply rock
Nord doesn't stand a single chance against the CP88! I changed!

They never show the layered sounds on most of these demos which I don’t think are done well.
Ooo castigo, ouvir este som da mão ✋ passando levemente sobre as teclas!!!!
As teclas dele são barulhelhas?

How do you record with this? None of the videos mention it. It must be
very simple and obvious but I'd like to know before I buy.

Woos, no escapement
does it come with any software like Cubase
Yamaha Synths Official Thanks for info although I seem to remember I got Cubase light with my Yamaha CP4.
👍
Is it the same rhodes sound as the reface cp?
What is the best amp to use with this keyboard?
Is it possible to do firmware updates so that the split can x-fade?
Yes
Can this all be done on a Montage or is there special features only the CP-88 has?
I think, it's all possible on Yamaha Montage.

Question Yamaha. Does it have string resonance?
Internet says no, but it has damper resonance

Oh wow...inbuilt drums too?? Ohh. Nope it hasn't.
