Sounds like, I believe because it makes me feel good. Problem with that is, you can't choose your beliefs. You believe because you're convinced, and you only believe when you don't know. We act based off our beliefs, so I'd like to see people believe what can be demonstrated that way our behaviors will reflect the reality we all share. Nice video, very informative 👍
I certainly don't believe in "ghosts" the way ghost hunters portray them. That's all show and entertainment. Get a group of highly susceptible people together and anything can be a "ghost". I do, however, believe in spirits and apparitions "visiting" at random. I have had experiences that were not just experienced by me, just one time deals, at random, with no explanation to say otherwise. They sure do make good conversation subjects, like that time there was a horrific vehicle accident late one night in the neighborhood. We all heard it. People came outside with flashlights and searched. And searched... nothing. There was not a single piece of evidence of a crash anywhere. But we all heard it and we all agreed it sounded horrific. Truly a "ghost accident".
Being in electronics / communications for over 50 years, I have used almost all the equipment they use in TV so-called ghost type shows, and even the others on TV that look for shadow people, shape-shifters, ....... My wife enjoys watching those types of shows so when I show her how its done she tells me I ruin it for her. However, I have had 3 experiences throughout the years.
Great Series! Thank You Julian and the Seeker+ team! I use to see "shadow people" when I was younger. Now I don't see "ghosts" anymore, because I closed my third eye. 😉

Fairy tales can teach us morality, yet we know they aren’t true. I’d rather we believe in facts and science while still learn from fictive stories being aware they are made up.
Excellent talks on ghosts, which do not exist. As said in the talk, it is all in our head. It is very easy now to define souls, spirits etc which are our brain experience! In Hindu texts as old as the vedas, it is said that soul leaves the body when one sleeps and return back after waking up! The soul, prana etc are some times compared to birds, where wind is associated with a spirit. Usually, that number quoted to have been associated with these spirits is 7 or 7 times 7 etc. A little mathematics is involved in the thought process!
Before I first saw a ghost I could give a shit about ghosts or ghost stories. I made fun of people until Iwas faced with one. Ig was the most terrifying moment of my life. I wasn't a believer.
I would personally not recommend believing in things that aren't real. If you don't have a realistic outlook on life, that ultimately makes you unable to deal with life in an effective manner. Maybe it makes you feel better in the moment, but that doesn't mean that you are actually better off.
I'm sure a lot of people do just that. Some people are just simply crazy lol. But as a normal down to earth guy with 0 mental issues.. that one time I told ya about on the part 1 of this and only that one time me and a buddy saw a ghost or spirit or something that disappeared right in front of us.. I don't know how to explain that lol. Wasn't high wasn't inside a spooky house or anything. Just in the backyard in the wide open. 20yrs later I still have absolutely no idea what it was
3:03. BIG HUGE MISTAKE. Theological librarian here. Purgatory is not eternal. It never was. It's believed to be a way for the souls of people who wasn't perfect in their virtues (like, the vast majority of people) to atone for their sins, pay their debt of penance before entering Heaven. It is actually a hopeful doctrine, either no one or only exceptionally holy people could go into Heaven. Also, the souls can get out by themselves when their penance is over, and be helped with the prayers and good works of the living people to get out faster. It is a current doctrine, and an idea that appears not only in Catholic church. Indulgences are for the living people, to atone beforehand for their sins and hopefully make for a shorter stay in Purgatory, or no time there at all. They are still used among a minority of devout people, and consist mostly in prayers, or sometimes donations to pious causes. Nowadays more practical ways are favored, like direct charitable work. In those times the scandal of indulgences was their widespread sale for money, which for some it meant you could "buy" your entry to Heaven, and even worst, the idea of using them to atone for future sins. Of course Martin Luther and others were furious about that. It appears that Seeker didn't seek to see whether their notions about a subject it doesn't know were right and complete before uploading a misleading video. Wikipedia exist, do you know? Because it appears that the Catechism or history books are too much for Seeker to seek. 😔 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purgatory en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indulgence
Thank you for the accurate definition. I think Seeker is mostly for entertainment. Peoples beliefs are their own. I don't take personal offense at people's non belief, its where they are in their own life experience. My faith is sacred to me and it does give me great peace. I would wish that for anyone.
@@jessiferri2922 I agree with you about the belief aspect of the subject, especially one in which Christians themselves disagree. The problem here is saying something historically and theologically (theology *is* a scholarly discipline) wrong, in a channel that supposedly is about knowledge. Even if it were a totally for entertainment channel, these kind of mistakes carry consequences. People who don't know anything about complex Catholic doctrines can and will take this mistakes as facts (this is a science channel...) and that will warp their vision of "Christian church," and Christians. Too many people already believe that all Christians are fanatical and Catholics are paedophiles. Nobody needs more fuel in that fire. I know this sounds exaggerated, but as a researcher in Church history, once in a book fair I was almost physically attacked when I said the subject I was looking for. A young seller had to interpose between me and some furious people and calm them down. I know a Baptist bishop, who uses a Roman collar, that has been also harassed in the street because people believe he is a Catholic priest. This video should be reuploaded, or a correcting note pinned to it. ✌
@@MariaMartinez-researcher I have bumped into Catholic haters also, mostly online, people who are hysterically angry at Catholics or Christian's are very sick people. This show cannot cater to crazy people. No one should.
2:50-3:12 And if you ask _me_ (not that you would), a Catholic Christian (in the process of reversion), I'd say that I'm not impressed by that ignorant strawman, though I can't say I'm even offended, since I saw this coming a lightyear away from a miniseries that from the very beggining started with two feet firmly planted in the dogmatic truth of physicalism. Word of advice, tho: next time, try and do some better research when talking of other people's faith - you wouldn't pull a stunt like this with say Islam or Hinduism because PCness, now would you? Also - your "copium argument" sounds like a bunch of question-begging, condescending crap; just sayin'...
This isn't fact, it's opinion. Spirituality is something that resides in the very depths of our societal dna. To diminish those beliefs is condescending at best. I thought we live in an inclusive society accepting of everyone's beliefs or is it just for a select few? I personally hate religion, politics and clowns...and heights but, this is propaganda for people that love the smell of their own farts lol.
1. I don't believe in ghosts 2. I just accept that the world is shitty and I have to do my best to make it better for everyone around me I wish everyone would do THAT instead of just believing something not founded in reality, just to make themselves feel good without having to do anything for it. Believing in a God or whatever tends to people not caring about their surroundings, since obviously God just fixes everything, which just leads to a worse and worse world. And yes money is one of those shitfactors as well...
Let's go Brandon....look, someone wrote that yesterday and it got a few likes, and that comment has since been erased. It's petty and wrong to censor a person for saying something benign so, I have to unsubscribe. I'll stick with Anton and Hank, those two won't gaslight unless the topic is about combustion, cheers.
Good job on picking this series back up! Truly miss Trace but Julian did great and right by the series! Keep it up!!
Like Dave Chapelle said... If you're good looking, everyone will tell you, If you're ugly, you gotta figure it out for yourself ..

So glad you’re back 😁 can’t wait to see the next topic
At 2:58 who heard background ghost 👻 noise?
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching mob psycho 100 it’s that I shouldn’t believe anyone that sells me ghost stuff.
Rejuvination, Julian, that's perhaps an even more interesting topic (going from scams and belief to close to reality)

Several seasons of ghost hunters found nothing. Still making money off the gullible.
Ghost music on the far side of the moon is a spooky story from Apollo.
7:15, that sound terrified the f*ck outta me.

are you going to start uploading to apple podcast, Spotify, etc.?
Suggestions from the audience:
You know those guitars that are like, double guitars...you know?
How about an episode on people who wake up to remember their past lives?
Never mind the ghosts it's the extra dimensional DMT head god room thing I worry about
How do you prove something don’t exist?
*What about the Holy Spirit/Ghost? What about photons? What about teleportation? What about telepathy? All of which is true.*
I myself use science to understand the world around me if something goes floating across the room it's not a ghost it's a tractor beam 😄
*You just told the universe that LOVE isn’t real. HOW DARE YOU?!*
Add me to those who want to play with an Ouija Board with Julian! Let's do this!
Believing in ghosts is just like religion. It's fine if you do but dont go using as an excuse to be an a-hole, one way or the other.
No, it will leads you to other stuff. And youtube will make sure you stay hooked to it, no matter what it is.
❤
Monks that can crack rocks or speared their neck no blood? Topic
Lets go Brandon!!!
Ok, but IS believing in ghosts good for you? This was more of a history of paranormal scams than answering that question.
It's a bandaid coping mechanism. People really suck at facing their mortality.

No. You could be focusing your brainpower elsewhere. My thoughts on religion are the same.
There is literally nothing new here. Just the same conjecture that's been used for centuries.
Believing in ghosts, is pretty much equivalent with believing in covid.
Wtf happened to this channel lmao
Believing that imaginary beings are real will distort your perception of reality, but thats your choice, lol.
Cool stuff! Love it!
Better then believing in a dead ј乇𝓌 Zombie that floated into the sky JS.
