i bought a blue 343 with tinted windows from 1979 saturday as my first car for when i'll complete my driving license test. it runs good and is problem free, i love it that the car is just simple and i can work on alot of things by myself. i also found it funny that it has heated seats.
Vredestein Tires!!! Used to be the most common and reliable tires to buy in the Netherlands. Side note, My grandmother had a similar model as a DAF version when I was growing up. Love this video! Thanks for uploading this Siôn :)
Good stuff, I had an A reg 340GL with the bonkers variomatic, then I had a D reg 360GLE, then a Volvo gap next one was an X reg S40, then another big gap, as a second car now have a 15 year old V50, good videos, keep them coming
Last time I saw an R-reg 343 was in 1990. It was white and full of rust. That was the only time I saw an R-reg. Initial production figure of the 3-series were low. I consider myself lucky enough to get hold of my A-reg 340DL 5dr back in 2015. Took me a while to find an early model.
Wow! This car is fantastic. It's got patina beyond belief and of course it's so bad it's lovely. Totally brilliant! Good luck with the seat material, don't envy you with that job. Do please keep these videos coming!
I’ll try that again (damn you iphone keyboard 😂). Your opening shot 340 brought back happy memories of my E reg 340 GL the same silver/grey colour, it was my first ‘quality’ car and I loved it. Looking forward to see what you can do with early model 😀🇸🇪
I love the dials!! Should’ve definitely kept those, I think I prefer the interior on this model year, the seats look great too. I imagine parts are really hard to source, I’m lucky in a sense that a lot of the mk2 stuff is interchangeable with the mk3’s like wing mirrors and interior trims etc

I still can't believe you managed to find that original fabric, brilliant!
please take good care of this classic. I personally like the brown look of the inside. I have a late 1970s school desk also totally brown.
Very enjoyable video! I have always liked these cars, especially the early models such as this.

Would loved to have seen the process of you restoring the seats. Great videos by the way. Daflo 66 GL (1977) owner here. Subbed.
Funny but almost everyone that repainted rims makes them to light.
Just a little bit darker looks perfect

My 83 has smiths dials but they’re a different style to those.
Sion, what cars do you currently have in total?
Nice DAF 77. I have a Volvo 66 from 1977 but I call it 'the DAF'...it's not a Volvo. I rather like DAF's. Quirky little cars.
Like 100 Fantastic car.
