So Who are Campervan Journey?
We are JT, Harry, Claire, Sam and Ben, oh and Hunny the Dog. We discovered campervanning in 2015 when we bought our first Volkswagen T5 Combo after seeing many at our favourite campsites. We were staying with our tent, and dreaming that one day we would have our own Campervan. After much research, we bought and converted our own T5 Kombi to suit our requirements, check out the video on the channel. We soon discovered that owning a Campervan is a way of life and it is not just about amazing trips round Europe, it’s as much about great days out and family time…
We have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places with our van, many of which we know we wouldn’t have seen if we had not owned it. They instil a sense of adventure and where shall we go into your life.
After 3 years with the T5, we upgraded to a Volkswagen T6 California Beach, our current van, and we continue to enjoy travelling and visiting some amazing places. You can check out our latest videos and adventures here on the channel !

Having had the ‘pleasure’ of an MRI scan i can confirm you are not wrong ! Just a big shame the Sven can’t be had in a 3 or 4 Berth configuration…

Really nice van much prefer the interior to the grand cali. Plus I think not being as wide is excellent. Thanks for sharing

It is a very nice van, shame it does not have a 4 berth option...

Grand cali dumps its water when it goes below 0. The cupboard catches at back are rubbish and the table is a lump.

We hired a Grand California for a few days and whilst I loved the drive of it, there were definitley some niggles. There are a couple of videos on the channel of our experience if you are interested. Maybe they will address these items in the udate of the Crafter which is coming very soon... cheers JT

And the MAN options list inc. 4motion/4x4. Very easy to get carried away. You can get folding seats that fit. Those side extension pods arnt a great idea IMO, however, there are several body panels available that give you enough room (e.g. evomotion). For anyone looking to self convert, there isnt anything that comes close to the TGE. And it wasnt that long ago you could get top spec, 4x4, for under 35k inc VAT.
