What's a natto with you? Natto taste test

So, when in Japan right?
After years of looking forward to being able to visit Japan we finally get there and ofcourse my friends who have already visited the country decide to pressure me in to trying the omminous Natto. A fermented soy bean delicacy. I have no clue as to what this will be like but I have heard numerous stories of it's bad taste and equally bad smell.
