Small piece of feedback. The stark contrast between the light and dark areas looks awesome but makes visibility a bit rough even in spots where you should be able to see pretty well. I feel like the shadows are pretty sharp in that regard and could potentially benefit from more ambient lighting so that the shadows aren't so unnaturally dark.
I was thinking this, but playing battlefield 1 the other day, I kinda like the going inside/outside blinding effects caused by the light change. I think it could add an extra element to pvp.

dude, chill, it's just an alpha. Also, we will have to judge when we play it. Character movements needs work for sure, but it also depends on the weapon. For bow, sword and other weapons it looks better. I think they haven't work on animation for wand yet. Also, it doesn't make much sense to work on that now since they game isn't in UE5.4 yet, which includes new animation tech. It would be a waste of resources work hard on that now and then re-do the work once the build is updated to 5.4. Also, movement in asian games is awful and very unrrealistic. In fact, TL one year ago received very bad feedback about it.
@@ToMaSsS10 What excuse, lol. Do you know how character animations work? It's not just one unique animation; they have to create different animations depending on the weapon and the race of the character is holding-orc holding a sword, elf holding a bow, staff, etc. Each looks different, some more polished, some less. But the original comment is acting like animations can't be changed in later builds of the alpha. In fact, they will probably start to work heavy on that once they update the game to UE5.4, since it includes new animation tech.
HOpe to see different name color based on the relation with the player (Ally NPC, Ally Player, TeamMate Player...). They're all green, not really readable to be honest.
A2 preview looks awesomely smooth, can't wait to join you guys at end of October. The starting zone looks beautiful with a lot of Roman influences (ie. aquaduct), love the Lions giving a very epic/grand feel. Starting zone music should create uniquely identifiable nostalgia. Very clean UI & positioning makes a lot sense, has an Aion (my fav) feel. Love the vocal dialogues, definitely makes the game feel more immersive, would be great to be able to change the SPEED (normal, fast, fastest) of the vocals in the settings menu. Still much polishing needed for sure, I can see GMBill has a server desync at 17:40 as both Margaret & Steven is walking in a straight line then disappears. Water textures needs more splashes, NPCs Official Elric & Lenya Moorling at 26:17 are floating off ground, Grundle Mixford graphics glitching 27:23. Needs more fauna/wildlife, it doesn't feel LIVE at the moment, somewhat artificially deserted. Great to see the progress to this stage, love your awesome work AOC team!
The thought and attention to detail in all aspects of the starting environment with a focus on the player experience is very welcoming. The aspects of the art style I didn't like are gone. Walking is still stiff but I'll get used to it. Would like to see more detail in shadows. I only bought the AoC pre-order pack out of FOMO in case Pax Dei didn't materialize as a SOCIAL sandbox. Now that appears to be the case and after seeing this preview I am hyped for AoC A2. Looking forward to meeting y'all in game folks!
Loving the Grand Buildings, Beautiful Environment and Massive Scale of the area. Reminds me of L2!!! Some pending homeworks like character and skill animation. Can't wait to check the playthrough from many content creators here on YT :)
Only alpha 2 and the game is beautiful I am very patient I know the full game will be years away but am definitely looking forward to it I am glad that I invested in 2019.
I tried Throne and Liberty but the art syle of this game speaks to me so much more. I sense passion from this project too, I think I'll wait for this game to jump into an MMO
As someone who has genuine discomfort towards AI and it's current lack of general regulation, I actually find the AI voice super unnerving. It's great that they're using technology + data that is all sourced in-house with good intentions, but listening to AI voices all day would make me feel a little bit too much like I'm living in a virtual reality for a game that I'm playing to immerse myself in an olden fantasy setting. Obviously nothing against the team for using it! But I do hope they reconsider if it ends up making the game feel like it's taking the imagination out of itself.
Hope that this game will be the MMORPG full of soul and original story that everyone awaits now, please don't be the next throne and liberty, at least from the devlogs it looks to be full of soul, please if you ever get big don't sell your child(AoC) to some random soulless corporation for money, keep it and cherish it and maybe like this we will once in maybe 20 years have a good MMO.
I think what would be really cool in the beginning area, and it would be long after launch, would be if as they release big patches or expansions is that they build up Lionshold to show a progression of time occuring.
The area's vastness is truly impressive. It provides a rich and expansive environment for players to explore. The integration of voice-over Technology is a game-changer. It adds a layer of immersion to the game, making the narrative and NPC characters more engaging. This feature truly enhances the gaming experience. The dynamic nature of the game world is truly captivating. With night, day, and season-based quests, the world is ever-changing and always ready to be explored. This feature extends the game's longevity and increases gamers' immersion in the World. The game's innovative use of verticality is a standout feature. It transforms exploration into a thrilling adventure, allowing players to traverse the map in all directions, uncovering hidden vistas and treasures. I look forward to seeing how this feature will be further utilized in significant story arcs, promising years of continued playability. The seamless integration of delves, dungeons, and hidden caves is a stroke of genius. It immerses players in a deep, rich fantasy world where each location is intricately connected. This layering technique enhances the sense of fantasy and high adventure, making every discovery a thrilling experience. The current state of the UI and assets is promising. I eagerly await the lighting and polish pass on the art assets, which I believe will elevate the game to the gold standard, a highly polished, finished product. I would love to find towns, villages, and cities with unique festivals that add changing aesthetics and assets to the games that make the place memorable, where people will travel far and wide to visit during those times to participate in seasonal holiday quests, etc. Keep up the great work. Make sure your character movement and animation flow like those in current top-notch games. Combat is king in games, and the richness and depth of fun things to explore, complete, and do are critical. Building upon or even incorporating systems from other games to hand us a sold gaming experience is something MMORPGs have wanted for years. So many games have pioneered some great ideas in games that should be leveraged and stacked into one game. Why reinvent the wheel when the wheel is already been created and is the best option. You can choose it and make it your own. I like that you do not have everyone a participation award, so everyone is running around with the same Legendary or Mythic armor or weapon. I genuinely hope you incorporated fashion wars in Ashes, where you can mix, match, and MOD everything you have on your avatar. GW2 did an excellent job of this but failed when being unable to mod weapons. The freedom to create in a game is enormous. Being able to mod your housing, guild halls, etc., is a gameplay loop in which people get hired out in the game to decorate other players' guilds and housing. EQII had this mini-game within the game. Please add Guild raid trophies back into the game as they had in EQII. Going into a significant raid guild hall and seeing all the epic raid bosses they took out being displayed was a nice touch that showed visitors the accomplishments of a guild. Keep up the great work, and truly hope all your blood, sweat, and tears transform into a beautiful, memorable experience that many MMORPG players choose to invest their time.
Love games when you start as a "novice" without skills or any equipment, thats give you inmidiatly a starting mission, and gives value to items that you found
I like the Shiny Nameplates for Questgivers etc. IMO would look better if it swiped once to the right then swiped to the left and back to the right in one quick cycle. It looks nice now but has a ticker-like feel.
I think quest icons should be see-through walls within a certain distance. 26:09 Seeing low level gear at ~6 silver makes me think we'll have 6-digit gold prices for good gear early on, hopefully I'm wrong as it turns copper and silver basically meaningless and makes you wonder why even add those fractions instead of going straight to gold integers.
As a voice actor myself, ive always felt a little conflicted and anxious concerning AI voice overs. but as time goes on, I find myself really liking how it's being used. WoW has a couple addons that do the same thing here, but they're of course not as fleshed out compared to the AI in the video. I can say im actually excited to see the use of AI Voice OVer in Ashes of Creation, and many games in the future!
I don't care for AI voice. Like one commenter already mentioned, if you can turn it off then those who like it can have fun with it. The only thing positive I will confess to is that they're using their staff for the AI.
Man, some of these animations have a real lotro or eq2 vibe to them. They feel so stiff and awkward and they've kind of been like this for years now. You'd think this would be one of the most important things to get right and not leave for last, since you spend most of your time moving around.
I can already imagine, when we get to 21:07: seeing hundreds of players questing, trading, hanging out...dang I cant wait for A2 and the future launch of Ashes.
VOICE LINES BABY! in alpha 1 the only thing I called out was no voice acting and everyone flamed me on the forums.. ANY NEW GAME should be voiced, this is a huge win . So much more immersive.
The community trailer brought so many emotions! FINALLY we see normal gameplay, loved every single fact, for many years i have been asking about voiceovers and cutscenes and Intrepid always answered they won't dabble in it at all yet here we are and even at these early stages it brings so much immersion. It would be cool if some of the ''filler'' NPC's have little interactable stories or clues to some treasure maps. Also the animations on the characters especially when running needs to be polished and have more impact when running instead of looking like jogging/hopping. TLDR KEEP IT UP TEAM! 1 MORE MONTH
1. They should add Vines climbing. 2. NPC needs simple idle animations & let them move a round in their area position. 3. Soften the intensity of Sun light & shadow.
I wish they would create something like "The Longest Quest". A sort of quest-crusade that lasts days or weeks, that you have to get certain titles and pass trials to get in. They are also time stamped and unique. If you complete it you get a medal or a title, for example "Battle of the Thousand Trees Veteran" 433 AD. Just an idea, maybe a crazy one.
I think basic character movement animations still need some work. Also, I'd probably want you to be careful not to make starting zones feel "too epic" maybe. I'd much prefer it enforce the feeling of a new and humble begining.
Still most promising MMO out there, watching since years, looking forward to it. Looks nice for an Alpha. Cool hub for a lot of stuff, looks time efficient and respecting player time. Hopefully it's not only for frequent players but also casual players (1-3 hours in the evening, weekends more -> so the ones that aged after 20 years playing MMOs 🙂) find their place for reasonable content and rewards.
I just played like 20 hours of Throne And Liberty, and for me it is an MMORP just like the other 15 thousand out there, it is beautiful and it is a shame that such quality assets are wasted on another game in the bunch, pay to win, no content for groups to make the missions together, no even a challenge because no enemy does you any kind of harm, and you start with like 30 skills to choose so everything is pointless. I was like 3 hours playing and I still didnt know what my skills do, because skills doesn't matter, just smash buttons until enemies are death... no strategy, no resources management, nothing, pointless because you start as a leveled char and even with nice looking equipment. I think Ashes of creations will be different in all this aspects and this video enforce that belief, I will play AoC I have lots of hopes with this game.
I am so excited for this game to be fully released I dont want to hype but I kinda get that tingly feeling I once had when I was playing Dark Age of Camelot for the first time haha
It is terrific that you plan to add higher level content to starting areas. It is sad to see areas ghost towns and wasted space as the server population moves on as they level. Everquest is an example of a game with many, many regions are just empty of players.
Great promise this game has. Still, personally Id love the combat effects to be less consistently flashy and full of sharp colours which makes it look too 'Disney' and crowded with colour like a fireworks show which distracts from the actual combat. One way to improve this I think and still have impressive spell effects is to only make the climax of the combatmove more flashy and bigger and more (sharp) colourfull, and the sequence/strikes before that smaller/less noticable. So visually have some steps in the combat move more impactfull. This would make the overall scene, when there is a lot of figthing by multiple entities, less chaotic, a bit more 'realistic'. This also will make a player have more focus/oversight I believe.
Loving how this all is looking! Just to clarify, they're using in house audio voice overs for the quests, without AI? Also, the worlds seems really immersive with the environment and buildings so props to you guys, but to me, having npcs with fluro coloured hair is really immersion breaking. Plus, I thought previous that we weren't going to be able to have 'unrealistic' hair colours, so has this changed?
Intrepid: creates an integral system of glint and commodity prices to reduce 'vendor trash' and put a dynamic gate on the money faucent. Also Intrepid: Continues to have vendor trash items and allows for selling consumables like potions to the vendor for money anyway.

Feedback inc: did you think about adding a unique/specific music by city/node ? A unique music per node main city would make it more special and like "home", the only place where this music is played. It also work for bosses and epic encounter
Will there be some armor sets that will give some extra bonuses if fully collected? For example helmet + gloves from one set would increase crit chance.
If they can keep the hackers out this will be the best mmo ever made. I suggest permanently banning hacker accounts along with a monthly subscription fee. This combination really discourages hacking because if they know there is a zero tolerance policy paired with a permanent full account ban most people won't risk an account that took a long time to establish and they have a lot of past subscription money put into. If you allow free accounts it will be hackers galore.
I've been following the development of AOC for 3-4 years now, I'd I've yet to comment on something I think needs improvement. This is because I've been unsure about the "issues" I've seen and I don't want to make an impact on something that could turn out great. However I'm very certain that I will highly dislike both the "quest mark" above the NCP's heads as well as the information box detailing the quests! For me this design seems way to Sci-Fi and reminds me more of the star wars mmo than a fantasy mmo. This is highly immersion breaking for me and tbh just the type small details that can ruin a game for me. It would be much more pleasing if the text was displayed in an old parchment or book or something similar. Please take this feedback into account, it really means a lot to me!
I like this idea. I want it clear and readable but something more medieval fantasy would be nice but thats just my take. This game is clearly a mix of sci fi and high fantasy so it makes sense.
@stevenjsharif, @Ashesofcreation, time stamp 6:25, when you change scenes, in the distance, Rian Liu's pose / arm is glitching out. Not sure if you noticed this in your testing. It could be how the local client renders that character based on the camera angle?... it goes till about 7:54 when Steven changes his view.
this is good. maybe they want to work also a bit more serious in having vegetation less awkward like it seems that it just placed it their without context. grass are quite tall and try to refer in a realistic environment. as reference.
OK, the game is starting to move forward! but it's better that it takes time rather than rushing and scrambling like Blizzard with WoW. Is this the starting zone for all races? or each race will have its starting zone?

No single game in history has raised this much money through crowdfunding and taken longer than 8 years to release. Ashes of Creation has the distinction of being the inspiration behind the term "Vaporware". Another related term: Embezzlement. Those of us who have made significant financial contributions to the development of this game deserve clarity and transparency as to the challenges that continue to push back the release date of this game every year.
As you guys are always asking for feedback, I can't quite put my finger on it but SOMETHING about the character movement animations feels a little bit off to me. I understand that every aspect of the game is still in development but if you guys can REALLY nail making the character feel like they are grounded in the world I think that's going to set ashes apart that much more. Watching the casters do micro movements and watching their characters sort of "flop" around just sort of killed the immersion.
I hope this will come out before new engines start to come out and graphics and animations go up even more because this looks clunky now I know it's alpha but considering it's ue 5 I think it should look better. I don't know anything about game developing but I just hope it won't look like this really wish for this game to shine in mmorpg market.
The ID cards are a little lame. You could have made it a guild card or similarly adventure rank pendant. Where you have to go to a guild hall and talk to a receptionist to register as an adventurer. An AI voice would just make it an out of world experience. Not to mention has plenty of room to expand upon in the future not being limited to whatever pre-recorded voice lines or standing in the same spot for eternity. Different receptionists, different days, etc. A physical rank crest/item/other is a fantastic way to show off our achievements without cheaping out and adding a name tag number. It can also be expanded upon with your first time event system so new arera guards would like to see your status before proceeding.
I like the idea of not making a very dense tutorial, but i also think you are lacking some basic adiveces. Even Steven forgot to take weapons when getting out of the city, how do you expect average players to know they are there?
I know this might be a small thing, but let us turn bloom effects off please.lots of gpus can handle it, but it's kinda annoying. so please put that as an option.thank you.
As long as the AI voiceovers can be turned off, I'm good. I've never heard an AI that can repeat dialog in a natural sounding way, there's always SOMETHING off, and I really don't think it's in a place where you can really polish it to my liking. But as long as it's optional I don't mind it being in the game.

It would be a waste of resources work hard on that now and then re-do the work once the build is updated to 5.4.
Also, movement in asian games is awful and very unrrealistic. In fact, TL one year ago received very bad feedback about it.
@@artharionsanchez1793Please fuck off with *its Just a Alpha" its been in alpha for years.
@@ToMaSsS10 what.
i 100% agree the game is beautiful but than when u get to see the characters they are soo bad
Completely agree

I really like how much that city evokes Solitude in Skyrim. It looks fantastic.
My word do I love watching these 4k uploads. The world is looking soooooo good.
This is the coolest starting zone I have ever seen! 😍
This is how i would imagine a perfect LOTR adventure game. Its stunning.
Gosh this looks incredible! I can't wait to play. You can tell a lot of passion has gone into the game!
Voice overs can heavily affect immersion im so glad you did this cant wait to see content abuot the alpha two soon!
I don't mind AI voices for a majority of characters, but for important characters and story specific quests I hope they use real VAs
See you guys in Verra at October 25th! This will be legendary gameplay! 🥹
Be in die a surprise right in your eyes
This looks SOOO good. Excited to be a part of A2. Great job Intrepid team!
Love games when you start as a "novice" without skills or any equipment, thats give you inmidiatly a starting mission, and gives value to items that you found
Loved seeing the starting zones
I like the Shiny Nameplates for Questgivers etc. IMO would look better if it swiped once to the right then swiped to the left and back to the right in one quick cycle.
It looks nice now but has a ticker-like feel.
I think quest icons should be see-through walls within a certain distance. 26:09 Seeing low level gear at ~6 silver makes me think we'll have 6-digit gold prices for good gear early on, hopefully I'm wrong as it turns copper and silver basically meaningless and makes you wonder why even add those fractions instead of going straight to gold integers.
Never heard this game.but the brige thumbnail reminded me of solitude from skyrim.... video looks amazing and getting a pc to try this game
I love the minimalist nature of the user interface
AI voices?! Next thing you know they'll have a self-checkout at the Blacksmith!
Joking aside, loving the progress.
Would love a video focusing on what AoC systems has or what features are planned to support Roleplay communities.
Keen to help test the game out, Hoping the animations grow a little bit but everything looks promising so far
for an alpha, this game is beautiful. landscape design is absolutely stunning. keep up the good work, im stoked to play!
Man, some of these animations have a real lotro or eq2 vibe to them. They feel so stiff and awkward and they've kind of been like this for years now. You'd think this would be one of the most important things to get right and not leave for last, since you spend most of your time moving around.
I can already imagine, when we get to 21:07: seeing hundreds of players questing, trading, hanging out...dang I cant wait for A2 and the future launch of Ashes.
i can't wait to waste my life away from playing Ashes 👍
I thank the gods for voice overs.
i wanna go up, to that bridge!
btw exelent work!!!
Is there going to be any consideration for controller support in ashes of creation? I personally would quite enjoy that 🗿
Looks great! Will we get a heads up when Alpha keys run short? I'm more interested in starting at phase 2.
My guild hosted the stream with 60 A2 key holders. The chat was roaring the entire time. The hype was real. HYPED!
I’m so pumped for Oct!!!!!
So excited to start testing, cannot wait to get into Verra.
Just an idea, maybe a crazy one.
i pray for the day are the game are comming out. I like it, its remember me on the old time.
I think basic character movement animations still need some work.
Also, I'd probably want you to be careful not to make starting zones feel "too epic" maybe. I'd much prefer it enforce the feeling of a new and humble begining.
Where is Rogue? We need to see the rogue showcase ASAP!
Rogue will be added to the game during phase two of Alpha Two!
@@AshesofCreation finally!
Hyped!
Can’t wait to get in on the A2!! And not sure if it’s just me but the fire anims looks hyper fast
I think Ashes of creations will be different in all this aspects and this video enforce that belief, I will play AoC I have lots of hopes with this game.
looks beautiful
This also will make a player have more focus/oversight I believe.
this music gives me GW1 vibes of pre-ascalon. I love it :)
looks amazing ...

I have not even finshed watching the showcase yet but.....the jumping puzzle fails HAHA love it. I can see myself rage quiting so many times at night over this haha
i don't mind jumping puzzles as long as hard ones are only for some bonus rather than mandatory.

I really can't wait for this game to come out. Just hope tech doesn't evolve before it does.
There will be a monthly sub 👍
Agree. Perma ban 100%, provided it's 100% proven to be intentionally hacking/buying gold.
@@blimp1suberTrue. Make them in pair with hackers. In-game currency buyers = permaban. Only solution to deal with that.
There are tons of visual glitches like that. They will polish them
this is good. maybe they want to work also a bit more serious in having vegetation less awkward like it seems that it just placed it their without context. grass are quite tall and try to refer in a realistic environment. as reference.
I feel like animations, character control should be a priority to make sure they get it right.
OK, the game is starting to move forward!
but it's better that it takes time rather than rushing and scrambling like Blizzard with WoW.
Is this the starting zone for all races? or each race will have its starting zone?
cope... game looks shit, even WOW looks better

Please take your time to finish this, 5 years if so needed. Our last hope lol
This game is so gorgeous ❤
Ve una columna... ¡Es precioso!, Pero ve una pared y ¡Oh, es precioso!
I know this might be a small thing, but let us turn bloom effects off please.lots of gpus can handle it, but it's kinda annoying. so please put that as an option.thank you.
Is there a Sandal Lore to this game? or a treasure chest to find the Legendary One Piece Sandal?
As long as the AI voiceovers can be turned off, I'm good. I've never heard an AI that can repeat dialog in a natural sounding way, there's always SOMETHING off, and I really don't think it's in a place where you can really polish it to my liking. But as long as it's optional I don't mind it being in the game.
At that point I would reconside the width of the gap. People do play for their spare time and they have little of it you know ...
