Dalll-e for me, 7 to 2. Midjourney seems to focus on more artistic output which makes it more tricky for POD use. I've not included the text in the scores as I don't think AI is there quite yet.
If you’re not in raw mode with MJ it gets more creative, prompting in raw mode will stick to what you’re asking for. I think that will make a world of difference. The higher the stylise the more room you give MJ more creative license to make the image more ‘beautiful’ within its bias of what beautiful is. When I want something exact, I got raw mode & never more than s100 , usually I start -S zero & work up 50-75-100 get a balance on giving MJ that artistic licence 👍

First: Great comparison video. The stylizing in MJ is tricky and it would be nice to be able to figure out ways to get these tools to output the text we are providing with more accuracy.
Second: I often wonder if there are prompt structures that are more accurate than others.
The long prompts seem to do the best in certain apps but as you said, and demonstrated, they produce different results. Fascinating video, one that is relevant and a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, evolving creative process.
Lastly: I agree with you regarding the video, text, design differences that you mention throughout this comparison video. Gotta keep these coming every few months as the tools change and evolve. I definitely plan to! 🙌🏽

For POD graphics / t-shirt designs, Dall-E won by a wide margin. The Dall-E renders look way fresher, more contemporary and crisp. Those cheese and beer illustrations that MJ rendered feel dated and I can’t imagine anyone would wear a t-shirt with that art printed on it. In my mind, it seems like MJ is still better for fantastical imagery and photo realism but Dall-E is better with vector style graphics and lettering.

Looks like Midjourney won't see me sprinting towards it anytime soon. 😂 I'm quite taken with Dall-e 3's flair for the cartoonish. It handles text like a pro, and its few quirks are nothing a quick dab in Inkscape or Kittl can't fix.
Pro tip: if Dall-e 3 gets a bit tipsy and keeps spilling 'beeer' all over your prompt, just copy and paste it into a new chat. It's like a soft reset for its slightly buzzed brain. 😉🍻
I don't know why you would give a point to MJ in the owl round. Yes DALL-E misspelled the upper result but the bottom right result blows anything and everything away. Its POD ready good to go on sticker, t-shirt mug you name it.
I believe Dalle-3 is the king because of the help for POD users

Wow! Thank you for creating this video comparison! One video I watched someone said on twitter that in order to achieve better text written results in Midjourney, you must write it with CAPITAL letters, not small. You are correct for your choices. But on the Owl design I prefer the Dalle One, because it is more of like a logo perfect for a tshirt or on a mug. For the Raccoon I prefer the Midjourney image without the text. And finally for the Surfing I prefer the 1st of Midjourney's. By the way, the Ai images will never be Perfect. They will always need some photoshop editing. and thats Ok! 👍😉

Dalle 3 defo won by far, i personally believe that’s due MJ having a learning curve with its raw & standard creative mode options, keywords for MJ in V6 is T-shirt typography (this way it will know the writing is paramount,) flat vector illustration design. I run test permutations with different stylise settings to get a balance for the style of art I’m using. I also let it know what cartoon style from kawaii/manga/anime etc otherwise it’ll go random on what kind of cartoon, whereas I noticed dalle does the same kinda cartoon style as a default. All in all Dalle did what it was asked it’s simple & easy (slow & restrictive… but easy). As a professional & crazy biased as I’m a MJ fan & know the platform so well, fast efficient & once you learn the to communicate with MJ its mind-blowing.
5:4 for me, Midge won. I don’t care about text since that’s easy to add, I was judging them by “which one graphic I would choose to put on a shirt”
I also love the artistic style of MJ, it suits my own style a lot better.
It comes down to personal preference I think but yeah adding text manually is sometimes easier 🙂
Great idea for a video, and I think you gave a very fair comparison. Personally, the ability to add text to an AI image is not very important to me. I would rather choose the font and have clean looking text. I think both platforms give great inspiration for layouts. Regarding MJ V6 vs MJ V5: I've done some comparing on my own, and V6 definitely seems to be going for a more highly detailed look. Thanks for this!
Thanks for sharing your experience with V5 compared to V6! I do agree sometimes it's just easier to add your own text. At least so far it's more reliable in many cases
I use midjourney for the art style and experimentation. You can do the most amazing posters with it, among other hundred things.
Dall-e3 is great too, besides the aspect ratio, Dall-e3 in Bing (free) works better than in CHATGPT (heavily censored). So if you want a more vector design kind of style with great font integration with your image, Dall-e3 is the way to go.
But I still love Midjourney the most, rarely use Dall-e3.

I think mid journey is good for the uncensored moments where you cannot get celebrities in the AI format on Dalle 3 or chatgpt Dalle 3,
But Dalle 3 is still good enough for everything else
Mj requires a lot more time with prompting and regenerating, Dall-E 3, spelling errors are fixed quite fast. Looks like MJ has problems producing minimalistic results, or I need to relearn the prompting in V6, POD worked better in V4&5 in my opinion. Also it is worth noting you can interact with chatgpt in optimizing the images way faster after a few interactions instead of prompt engineering in MJ, which takes a lot longer.
Yeah I also like that aspect of dalle3 it feels a lot more user-friendly
If you use the exact same prompt for different image generators to compare their capacities it is not optimal. The prompt you show is in favour for DALLE-3 type of prompting. For text in MJ I use --style raw --s 40

Hi Philip Dalle 3 most of the time creates designs in a Split View. Do you have any suggestions how to avoid that?

I think the most focus should be on the fact you asked for a vector owl. Midjourney is more vintage indeed, but not vector at all.
I love these comparison videos! You could re-do this one more time with adding more guided prompting, as it's necessary for the Midjourney v6, Dall-E 3 reworks the prompt to more complex ones in its background code. You should use --s 120 (max 150) for flat designs, even try to experiment with --s 75-ish ones. --style raw also helps to get better text ( i guess it will also avoid these micro texts). MJ fan here, I am using DALL-E 3 as well, but hate it's rate limits and random errors and fails, on the other side you have much more free hands with MJ. They released the v6 early because of a big pressure from their users, they will add vary (region) and few more tweaks, Then DALL-E 3 will have no chance :)

Its not fair to use the same prompt for each platform. Each platform requires specific prompt language to get what you want so using the same will not get you the best of each.

Midjourney V6 seems to struggle with simple and cartoon styles.

To avoid sin and error which leads to the death of your body and your spirit-soul in hell fire (second death), you must make God's Word the standard for your life, not AI. If not, God will let you face AI on your own (with your own strength) and it will cast the truth down to the ground, it will be the cause of so much destruction like never seen before, it will deceive many and take many captive in order to enslave them into worshipping it and abiding in lawlessness. We can only destroy ourselves but with God all things are possible. God knows us better because He is our Creater and He knows our beginning and our end. Meditation in the Word of God is a visit to God because God is in His Word. We know God through His Word because the Word He speaks represent His heart's desires. Meditation is a thing of the heart, not a thing of the mind. Thinking is lower level while meditation is upper level. You think of your problems, your troubles but inorder to meditate, you must let go of your own will, your own desires, your own ways and let the Word you read prevail over thinking process by thinking of it more and more, until the Word gets into your blood and gains supremacy over you. That is when meditation comes - naturally without forcing yourself, turning the Word over and over in your heart. You can be having a conversation with someone while meditating in your heart - saying 'Thank you, Jesus...' over and over in your heart. But it is hard to meditate when you haven't let go of offence and past hurts. Your pain of the past, leave it for God, don't worry yourself, Jesus is alive, you can face tomorrow, He understands what you are passing through today. Begin to meditate on this prayer day and night (in all that you do), "Lord take more of me and give me more of you. Give me more of your holiness, faithfulness, obedience, self-control, purity, humility, love, goodness, kindness, joy, patience, forgiveness, wisdom, understanding, calmness, perseverance... Make me a channel of shinning light where there is darkness, a channel of pardon where there is injury, a channel of love where there is hatred, a channel of humility where there is pride..." Heaven is God's throne and the dwelling place for God's angels and the saints. Hell was meant for the devil (satan) and the fallen angels. Those who torture the souls in hell are demons (unclean spirits). Man's spirit is a free moral agent. You can either yield yourself to God or to the devil because God has given us discretion.
