Tried setting up my own POD tshirt business a little while back. Problem is that the margins are tiny. Nobody buys listings of over £20 or so for a tshirt even if its unique. Lowering the price to say £15 got me sales but after fees I was left with about £1. One single return wipes out 15 sales
People do indeed buy t-shirts priced at £20 or higher. I and others sell our t-shirts for above those prices every day. It's about how you position yourself. Most people try to race to the bottom with prices, assuming that price is what stops people from buying, when in reality, having the lowest price can actually hurt your sales. Hello Sarah! wonderful and useful content as always, thanks... just something I picked, in South Africa the currency is South African Rands, not dollars :-)
Hey Sarah, is there any other AI tool that has a free plan? I believe by the time you made the video maybe Midjourney was still free, but it isn't the case anymore.
another great video! I have the 30/month plan on MJ. I have stayed away from the "high quality (2x cost)" because... not sure how much more it actually is. Any insights?
It uses up twice the extra processing power a paid plan purchases if you're using fast mode. But you can instead switch to relax mode and use 2x setting - but it will take a slower amount of time to generate.
@@WholesaleTed thanks for your quick response! thats good- I switched to relaxed mode shortly after i got a subscription so I could make more images and worry less about making too many. Side note, you should do a tutorial on stickers and/or wall art with MJ! thanks
I've been watching all this channel endeavors for a minute. Ted has to be a multi billionaire by now. & still manages to find time to make you tube videos
I highly recommend watching the full video. At 10:28 I discuss using print on demand apps, like Printify, to print them for you. I have lots of videos on this channel that discuss how it works, I highly recommend checking them out, such as this one. I explain Print On Demand in this video at the 5 minute mark: ruclips.net/video/fQTsmtXBkew/видео.html
Please don't delete my text I just wanted to know will a credit card cover printify for etsy free store? And if so how much would you need starting out on a credit card to start selling in the beginning and then the items that sell would start taking care of those costs. I'm sorry if this is stupid but I need to start making money and how little can you start with?
Thanks Sarah. I’m following each step on this video but unfortunately it’s telling me that free trial users aren’t allowed to DM the mid journey not. Also isn’t allowing me to switch to relax mode on setting as it’s asking me to switch to a pay plan. So looks isn’t free.
I just want to clarify this video, I never called Midjourney free and I did not imply it was free: 1) At 7:11 I directly call it a paid membership. I say it costs money, not that it is free. 2) At 5:20 I show the pricing plans. 3) Nowhere in my title/description does it state that Midjourney is free. At 5:20 the subscription plans do show a free trial. That trial is, however, shown to not come with the same features as the paid plans. I can see from the comments that some people have tried to register for the free trial, but it is now temporarily closed due to high demand (this was not stated on the website when I made the video, otherwise I would have shown that too). However, as 5:20 shows it doesn't have the same features as the paid plans, I therefore do not consider the app free, which is why at 7:11 I directly call it a paid app. One of those missing features being, of course, the commercial license. I do understand that in this video, while I did not call it free, I did not directly state it isn't free either in the title and only discuss the paid plans half way through the video. Perhaps because I make a lot of videos on free apps, people assume that all apps I discuss are free. That is an understandable interpretation given how many videos on free apps I have in this library. From my perspective, in my RUclips dashboard, it shows me what other videos my subscribers are watching, and it showed that a majority of them are watching Midjourney videos. And so I also made the assumption that my subscribers knew what Midjourney already was, and therefore had to know it is not free, which is why I don't directly state it's price, I thought it was well-known information at this point. I did not want to bore people going over it's price in detail, since I thought people already knew this, and instead just wanted a tutorial to directly help them with an app they are already using and paying for. I can see the confusion on both sides: my subscribers being confused because I make so many videos about free apps, and me being confused because I can see so many subscribers are using the app already. On a personal note, I do wish that the people who assumed I didn't discuss the price until half way through was for malicious reasons, would give me the benefit of the doubt. Some people have assumed I was purposefully misleading. Whereas in reality, I didn't discuss the price until half way through, because I was trying to be empathetic and not bore people with information I assumed they already knew. I went into this with good intentions. There is often an innocent reason for why people make decisions and I was surprised more people assumed that I did it to maliciously be deceptive 🙏 I will take this into account and be more careful next time I make a video about a new app/website to ensure that it is clarified that any app/website I use that isn't free, is directly stated to not be free 🙏🙏🙏
Creating the design is "easy", getting the sales if you're just starting is really hard. But if you're consistent, you'll definitely get sales. Improve your SEO and look for more tutorials. Don't think that you've uploaded 10 shirts you'll get $10K/week.
Im just getting into it. Im not listening to the naysaysers. They say i have made no money!! But did they only have 10 shirt designs. I plan on not going active until i have 10,000 designs
I barely write on RUclips videos but I thought to share my experience. I firstly have to say that you have inspired my to create an etsy store and I've got 200 sales over 2 years and I'm now actively pursuing this more. However, I do have to say that whilst you are sharing valuable insights and tips and are a great presenter I can't help but feel irritated at your recent videos claiming 10k sales in a week or similar. Yes etsy can go viral for some but it's rare. Let's break down 10k sales / 30 usd is 333 order per week. Say 1k orders per month. Do you know how unrealistic these figures are for viewers? Etsy ain't a sprint its a marathon and tons of obstacles for new shop owners. Even POD stores, etsy fees etc from 30 usd leaves the owner about 10 usd, so your claim at receiving 10k is way overrated. Plus there are many people doing this making the market competitive and anyone with a bit of knowledge do all of this themselves. Again, I really do admire your videos and they have helped me but I feel at this stage RUclips is now for clicks.
I will be honest: I don't think that this is fair. It is an expectation these days to have exciting, interesting, curiosity driven titles. If I didn't have them, nobody would click. I think we should all understand that any content creator needs to have exciting, curiosity driven titles and if they don't, then they would get no views, and would stop making videos. I would stop making videos, and stop sharing my content, because nobody would watch it anymore. So unless I can continue to use interesting, curiosity driven titles - I will have to stop making videos. Secondly, I also don't think it is fair because this video is not a video discussing average timelines for success. That is not the topic of this video. The topic is that AI art can match the quality of art seen in top selling designs. And it's true that some of my viewers DO have fast success. It does not have to take time. That is a strange myth that people have: that success HAS to take "time." I have had plenty of subscribers like Skuu Digital (see comments on this video: " ruclips.net/video/7ZlZFPBWC74/видео.html ") who have had overnight success. However, that is obviously not the norm, and this video does NOT talk about timelines for building a successful store. That is a separate video, for a separate discussion. This video is all about creating great t-shirt designs using AI art & showing you can create similar quality to top-selling t-shirt designs using it. I would just ask that people allow me to make videos on different topics. I have videos that discuss normal timelines & discuss why some people have fast success, but most don't. You can watch my entire video on that one specific subject here: ruclips.net/video/A-bQFXWppoA/видео.html 🙏
@Wholesale Ted I appreciate the reply but there are a few things. You've stated in the title that you could get 10k/week, most people who click are trying to make extra income and get rich quick which is fair enough, but it's an extremely unrealistic point. I personally watch videos with the idea to build overtime, if it happens quick then cool but I know from experience this doesn't happen. Most of your audience, without sounding bad, are looking for this stuff. I'm saying that sure you can make titles, thumbnails to get people to click and be entertaining but you can be much more valued if it was more realistic. Its like saying 'hey, in 1 week you could earn enough to buy this brand new car', which we know most people couldn't even achieve it. I subscribe to channels who have 30k subs and they are very realistic.
I'm with Ted. Every situation is different. I'm making designs then I'll dump money into ads and influencers. Maybe it kicks butt or maybe it doesn't but I'm in control of the outcome. We all are in control of our own outcomes :) good luck everybody ❤
@@WholesaleTed would you mind making a video along those lines in the future? Given your honesty in this reply - I highly doubt it would hurt you. It would definitely help your viewers and I believe most of us would even appreciate it. All in all, I think most of us tend to often be critical to others rather to ourselves. And I definitely do not think we should put ourselves down etc ... but simply - if we see that our approach hasn't worked for a month or two - why not change it? Maybe entirely, maybe partially? Etsy not working for me - let me try a different platform, a different product ... Also, success definitely requires some level of perfection (time invested in doing things well, trying things out for ourselves. How many people never order a single T-Shirt they're selling, for example, just to see how it actually turns out ...)

@@creativeinspiration5672 I mean, the process is not as simple as some of you make it seem. There are several apps and services that you must use to copy this method, not to mention the upfront cost and time spent generating and editing images. The barrier to entry in terms of time and knowledge and payment for said services seems high enough to create enough opportunity for someone to break in and create their own corner of the market. Tshirt designs after all almost nearly infinite.
Hi Sarah! I heard from another RUclipsr that in order to use Midjourney pictures for commercial use, you need the paid plan. You didn't mention that. I can't imagine you can use everything to sell for free..
@@WholesaleTed Hi, thank you for explaining this! Do you have a video that goes further into the rights with these AI image generators? Big fan of your channel! Cheers!
Hey everyone, sorry, it's been pointed out to me that the free plan is now CC with no commercial use. Regardless, I do think that everyone should be using the paid plans which is why I say it has a flat monthly fee in the video. Sorry for the confusion! Details on each plan are here: docs.midjourney.com/docs/plans
Just a couple of days ago, copyrights court in the United States said ai artwork cannot have copyright protections because they were not made by a human. I would suggest you google it because idk how to post links to articles in the comments.
There are plenty of other options, other than Etsy. For example: * You can set up your own POD store on your own website, and then create free videos on TikTok to advertise your products. * You can sell POD products through eBay. * You can use other POD specific websites, such as RedBubble.
If the extra cost is within your budget I think it is a good idea. But chances are your images will just be lost with all of the other images on the platform so it is probably unnecessary.

Hello Sarah! wonderful and useful content as always, thanks... just something I picked, in South Africa the currency is South African Rands, not dollars :-)
How do you know if you NEED to change resolution?
i love how all youtubers are making millions each year
Any other options for Using another AI software/progame other than MidJourney????
Hey Sarah, is there any other AI tool that has a free plan? I believe by the time you made the video maybe Midjourney was still free, but it isn't the case anymore.
Thanks so much ❤
Do you need a business license to do print on demand?
Where do you find the listing details on Etsy please?
Hi Please help, midjourney is telling me that i have to a subscriber first in order to gain access to changing my settings commands
Kudos!!😍
another great video!
Side note, you should do a tutorial on stickers and/or wall art with MJ! thanks
Now that I have some extra free time and need some money I might give this is a try!
How do get the box your design is on in Canva not to print on the shirt in printify?
thank you for your videos. which AI to enlarge the pictures please, thank you👍
I discuss that in this video, I highly recommend watching the full tutorial, I discuss it at 9:33 🌞
I've been watching all this channel endeavors for a minute. Ted has to be a multi billionaire by now. & still manages to find time to make you tube videos
If I choose the Setting > Relax Mode, and then it will said " You must be a subscriber to use this command "
How do I subscribe this Chanel?
How do I print the t-shirts? Should I buy a machine or cooperate with a factory or something?
I highly recommend watching the full video. At 10:28 I discuss using print on demand apps, like Printify, to print them for you. I have lots of videos on this channel that discuss how it works, I highly recommend checking them out, such as this one. I explain Print On Demand in this video at the 5 minute mark: ruclips.net/video/fQTsmtXBkew/видео.html
That's explained fully in the vid
So wonderful
In which software do you prepare the images that you show?
Is there a (AI)-way to create that image where a model is wearing the t-shirt, apart from actually getting a model and take the photos yourself?
Is the $10k a profit or how much they sold in a week?
Amazing video 🙏 you are great 💪🏻 follow you
Please don't delete my text I just wanted to know will a credit card cover printify for etsy free store? And if so how much would you need starting out on a credit card to start selling in the beginning and then the items that sell would start taking care of those costs. I'm sorry if this is stupid but I need to start making money and how little can you start with?
Thats great!!!
Love and respect from Pakistan.
Which tool that showing you monthly sales ?
Alura. I have it linked in my video description 🌞
TQ U inspired me
Thanks Sarah. I’m following each step on this video but unfortunately it’s telling me that free trial users aren’t allowed to DM the mid journey not. Also isn’t allowing me to switch to relax mode on setting as it’s asking me to switch to a pay plan. So looks isn’t free.
I just want to clarify this video, I never called Midjourney free and I did not imply it was free:
1) At 7:11 I directly call it a paid membership.
There is often an innocent reason for why people make decisions and I was surprised more people assumed that I did it to maliciously be deceptive 🙏
I will take this into account and be more careful next time I make a video about a new app/website to ensure that it is clarified that any app/website I use that isn't free, is directly stated to not be free 🙏🙏🙏
Creating the design is "easy", getting the sales if you're just starting is really hard. But if you're consistent, you'll definitely get sales. Improve your SEO and look for more tutorials. Don't think that you've uploaded 10 shirts you'll get $10K/week.
You'll be lucky to get $10 per week!
Im just getting into it. Im not listening to the naysaysers. They say i have made no money!! But did they only have 10 shirt designs. I plan on not going active until i have 10,000 designs
Your awesome Sarah
You barely write on RUclips videos? Must have been saving up for that long comment 🤪
you seem like someone i can trust so i'm willing to purchase this course LOL
@Wholesale Ted, did you try this out your self? What was your revenue after 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month? 2 months?
Oberlo's not working in Canada. Suggestions?
Hi Sarah, great informative , Creative info here. Just wondering about the bad rap about Ali Express with long delivery times and poor quality, and how that would affect our business, refunds etc?
And all the other software we would likely use to create products, am guessing would add up costs initially.
GO KIWI'S !!! aren't we awesome :o)......
How could be a person so generous about her skills. I'm really envy you😊💐 you re such a good and talented person. thanks a bunch
Don't be so gullible. It's to get clicks and pay from RUclips.
Nobody ever makes money using her videos - she makes stacks of money by us clicking - these ideas won’t make you anything I promise- over saturated methods now
@@creativeinspiration5672 Thank you! That is exactly what I said. I don't know how people are so gullible.
@@creativeinspiration5672 Do you know any other you tube Chanell to able to make money, I would like to know 😊 Nevertheless I love her possitive vibe🙋♀️
Gonna have to watch again with subtitles. Eats jist I kint understand the accint and all the vowils are missed up ❤️🤣
Don’t you have to pay printify with your own money first before Etsy gives you the money?
Fantastic lady with fantastic Ideas. Clap for you
Hi Sarah! I heard from another RUclipsr that in order to use Midjourney pictures for commercial use, you need the paid plan. You didn't mention that. I can't imagine you can use everything to sell for free..
@@WholesaleTed Thanks for explaining!
$60+ 😂
Thank you for great video. Am from Bangladesh . Etsy don,t available in in our country . Have any other option.
There are plenty of other options, other than Etsy. For example:
* You can set up your own POD store on your own website, and then create free videos on TikTok to advertise your products.
* You can sell POD products through eBay.
* You can use other POD specific websites, such as RedBubble.
I design t shirt but doesn't have follower who can buy this, I do have my own website.. please tell me where we can sell these t shirt
Hello, but is it legal to use midnourney AI tool generated images or patterns for sale
If you're a paying member you can use the images
Do you need to use stealth mode if you want to design and sell shirts?
If the extra cost is within your budget I think it is a good idea. But chances are your images will just be lost with all of the other images on the platform so it is probably unnecessary.
@@WholesaleTed Thank you for the reply! I am a stay at home mom and I'm trying to come up with something to do to earn a little income, as the economy is crazy at the moment.
hello sarah ive just registered for midjourney and as i was signing up an instead of clicking members i clicked the bot first because it didnt show at thetop of the screen after i clicked the bot an now the bot wont talk to me what do i do
Here's what to do. First, open Discord. Then, click on the Midjourney channel. Next, click on one of the public Midjourney chat rooms, such one of the Newbies lounges. If the member list is unavailable, click the little member button I showed in this video to have the member list pop up. Then, find the Midjourney bot in the list of members. Right click it and select message. Now you can message the Midjourney bot with prompts 🤖
How can people get to know about the etsy store without running ads?
The products you are showing more than 2k sales, are they selling them with out adds ?? Or it's based on Advert ..
Most sales on Etsy come from free, internal, organic search traffic - not from advertising.
@@WholesaleTed I am a look time viewer , tried pod tshirts but not on Etsy..
Yr my favorite etsy coach
Hiii. Long time follower here. Question for you…. What about marketing? I do not want to become an influencer and people because of me. A face less store. How can I get people to know about my store or even Etsy store. Or any platform. Thanks. I personally print my own shirts and have pod. Any help would be amazing. Thanks!!!!
I'm also wondering about that! These videos don't explain a few points
U r good, very good!!
