wow! another video! i am watching this as i drink coffee in my cabin in SC, my wife will cook breakfast for me and a friend who is coming over this morning to do some shooting on my range, we are avid BP shooters, thank you so much for another video,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I am honestly so enamoured by your videos. The costumes, the music, the beautiful rifles. The Slow-Mo is breathtaking. Thank you so much for making these!!
Brother here to Gene. Great to see him live in the action with fellows who enjoy the same! I tell ya they ALL looked sharp in their garb & guns. I agree with another comment about it not being long enough. Back in Pennsylvania they are getting groups of Veterans with PTSD together to build muzzleloaders & flintlocks as rehab & then going on a shoot. Would like to see more of this kinda stuff.
I have enjoyed all of these videos but this one may be the best yet. Thank you for all the hard work and thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who allow us to join in. Winter well.
Thank you to everyone for sharing this video. Beautiful country, firearms , and music. The fellowship of like minded individuals. The detail and uniqueness to everyone's accoutrements is fascinating. I look forward to your next posting. Thanks again.
All thet smoke in the air surely smells like Freedom! Give it another measure of powder and ring the Freedom bell. I'm jealous lol excellent videogaphy. From the Eel River Mountain men, Medicine Man.
I would love it if there were such gatherings where I live in NZ. I am very much a "lone wolf:" where flinters are concerned. Most people seem reluctant to acquire the expertise to operate them effectively. The way things are going here, flintlocks might be all we are allowed to shoot before long.... 🙂
What a nice representation. Kinda makes me in the mood to rendezvous. A beautiful cross-section of period attire and accoutrements, in a beautiful setting. Nicely done sir.
This is a real pleasure to look at, thank you all very much and keep these treasures alive. With great respect greetings from the Netherlands and Bless You All.
You guys should put together a video of all the hunting bags, accessories, patch knives everyone uses because some of those are as nice as the guns you're using.
If I had one complaint it would be that the video was not long enough !! I love your videos and your get togethers, wish I was there to enjoy the fun. Keep them coming. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Finally got a chance to watch this, certainly worth the wait! Such beautiful scenery, gear and comradeship. Hope you and yours are well and happy holidays
I think you have the best muzzle loader videos on youtube. Who is the grizzled old gentleman that has the green scarf around his neck. He is in all your videos. Most all the clubs are gone in middle Ga. where I live. The ones left are what I call formal clubs with a shooting range. I like your woods walk much better. Sitting around a fire eating and drinking next to a river swapping ideas and stories. It just don't get any better than that... Looking forward to your next one. Great camera work by the way.
Another great video!! I love the river scenes, the forest scenes, the clothing, the flintlocks and you all seem to be very good shots!! Not to sure about the the cold and the snow. lol 😂 Heading into summer here in Australia. Keep up the good work and looking forward to your next video. Cheers
Gents and Ladies, i have been at this type of shooting since 1977. The biggest killer of what you have are strange people that think they have some god given right to challenge our freedom. Protect what you have and keep on doing what you do. " LIVE"!. Kindest regards to all, best moment 9.49. The sweetest blade ever and would love to skin a deer or two with this blade. From New Zealand.
Just found this channel and subscribed. Very cool video. I make all my own gear and powder, my wife makes my attire. I made my coworker a .50 cal Traditions Kentucky pistol kit. Giving it to him for Xmas. Hopefully he will get into blackpowder and I will have a new shooting buddy. Thanks for sharing this video and keep your powder dry.
@@FolkFirearmsCollective I was checking out your channel and saw a picture of a blue NW trade gun by Clay Smith. Went to his website to see all. There was a picture of a Blackfoot brave holding a lever action rifle. He was wearing a chest plate made of trade gun dragon side plates, 6 of them. Would love to hear the story of how he acquired them.
I want a brown bess flintlock sooooo bad, right now all I have is a Hawkins style cap and ball rifle. One day though I'll have one. Quick question I'm a lefty so dose the flintlock bother left handed shooters???
Is the gentleman who had the English sporting rifle still participating in the shoots? I haven't noticed him in the past couple of videos and he seemed very knowledgeable and involved.
Oh absolutely! He was here at this one but earlier shooting and got through the walk before I could catch up with him. He’s a founder of the club and one of the most active and knowledgeable individuals. He inspired me as a matter of fact, with his English Gentleman’s rifle being the first flintlock I ever fired.
He’s in this video a few times if you look for him. Has an amazing beaded bag. Pours father winter big Dave a cup o coffee at the end of the video also.
@@FolkFirearmsCollective @capandball has a video about super short jaegers that were used hunting from horseback. I look forward to his presentation. I'm looking for a flintlock jaeger for myself.
it is a copy of an English carbine I found in a book from the library. The original had a 15" barrel, plus another set of swivel barrels. mine is a 58 cal.

That would be such a great time getting to watch and chat with all those guys
DARN! Now I have an Itch that needs Scratching! and an Itchy Scratcher Finger! Spinning up a new batch in the mill Now! Love the Smell of BP Any Time!
Built a Hawken cap rifle many years ago, now I look forward to building my first flintlock rifle I have ordered. Can not wait till it arrives.
Question: Does shooting a flintlock make you a better man? Answer: Yes!!!!!
Shooting smoothbores makes you a mountain man!
Some of the best shooters are women.
@@8626John A lot of women do Manish things, and when they do they are acting like a man, and I agree it does make them a better shooter.
100% only way the shoot black powder rifle

Hands down the best traditional muzzleloader content on YT.
There was no way I could have traveled there to see it up close. So I appreciate the video being posted. It's almost like being there.
Great job, again! Gene shot a nice buck with that carbine later that day. Wonderful bunch of people to spend the day with!
Beautiful rifles
Thank you!
Definitely an old geezer’s/mindset sport...Love it!
If you keep shooting the flintlocks, I guess you can't go wrong. Thanks for sharing with us.
What a great video. Good shoots, great slow-mos. And really enjoyed the guys' chatter. Looks like an absolutely amazing time. Thanks for sharing.
