What a fun project! Thank you. Going to make with my kids while we're in quarantine. I love the little "cut" noise you make to tell your camera person the scene is over!
Hi Jenifer, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You can also make a smaller rug for a pet to sit on or for place mats. Don't forget to watch Part 2 where I show different sizes. Stay safe
Hi Beth, I'm so happy you enjoyed my video. Thank you for the compliment. You made my year. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I should check my comments more often. By the way, if you get a small hoop, the size of a dinner plate, you can make a placemat using the same technique
Ez igencsak inspiráló videó in shaa Allah sokan kipróbálják . Üdvözlöm és szép napot kívánok.
Thank you!! I used to make these as a kid. The 1st one I made was when I was a Girl Scout, I had to make it and also donate it. Now, it's time to do them again! Ya teach simply and I will keep you informed of mine!
Hi Tawana, I'm glad you liked my video. Now you can make as many as you like and get to keep them all. You can also make a small rug for a little pet. Be safe
Beautiful and well-done, ma'am! Thank you for sharing this. I'm working to develop a series of things that people in economically left-behind places can make and sell ... especially using free or low-cost materials. This looks like a great addition. 🙂
What a great project! I hope you've had some success in the last couple of years. I quill and it's a craft if you go simple that doesn't cost much at all.
Hi Krista, I'm happy you liked my video. Since we're all stuck at home it's therapeutic to make these rugs. I made a small one for a little chihuahua. Be safe
I'm so glad you like my video. You can make a smaller version of the rug and use it as a place mat. I just made my second video today. It's called "Simple Winter Wreath for Dummies." See if you like it. Be safe
This looks great! What size tshirts are best? About how many tshirts to make one? Is the finished product heavy? I was thinking about my Girl Scout troop make these. But, keep them attached to the hoop so they have their own "circle of safety" for social distancing while sitting on the floor at meetings. Thoughts? How long does it take to make one?
Hi Courtney, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. A big T-shirt is best so you have more fabric to work with. I'm not sure how many t-shirts I used for each rug, because I used different colors from different shirts. Why don't you make one at home to see how many you use. It's not heavy at all. A young girl scout can carry it easily. They can each get a small hoop. It takes a couple of hours so they can do them in three sessions and they can put their names on the hoops so they will know which ones are theirs.
You can put something heavy and flat to cover to cover the mat for a few hours. If the center was raised up when you finished it, that would mean the stitches were too tight. I hope the weight will work for you
Thank you for sharing this! I’ll be trying this as a wall hanging. Can you use the cut strips at the end to tie around a branch after you tie them together? Thank you again!
Hi Marnie, I would wash it in the bathtub with a couple inches of soapy water. Then I would squeeze out the water with the palms of my hands and let it dry flat on an old screen or a table outside
Hi Eslah, I'm happy you tried making a rug. When you say stuffed do you mean it was too tight? If so, maybe you can try fixing it by opening up the last stitch and taking out some stitches and make it loose and flat. It happened to me once. Don't worry about it, if not throw it out and start over 😊

I have half the size of hers, do you think I’d do half of the strips?

@@lillianulman90 Happy New year :)
How many t shirts did you use?

I've tried this method and the center raises up. How do you avoid the centerpiece from raising up when it is used over time?
You can put something heavy and flat to cover to cover the mat for a few hours. If the center was raised up when you finished it, that would mean the stitches were too tight. I hope the weight will work for you
@@lillianulman90 I will try this. Thank you.

Wow, it's so fast! Thanks for the video!
Hi Tess 2626, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you very much
Where can I find part 2?
The part 2 is on her channel
What if we have a smaller hula hoop?
A smaller hula hoop is fine. It just means you have a smaller rug. I used a smaller hula hoop to make a small rug for a little dog
She is holding her scissor up side down
Can you wash the rugs.
Hi Marnie, I would wash it in the bathtub with a couple inches of soapy water. Then I would squeeze out the water with the palms of my hands and let it dry flat on an old screen or a table outside
Lindooooo!!!
