Family fare in Michigan 80/20 $1.97/lb in 3lb pkgs. Limit 2. It's nearby to me so I made a couple of trips and yes I also went over budget. Worth it. Made me realize I need to build in more stock up money for those extra special discount sales.

So sad that $2.99 is a good ground beef but we are currently out because we haven’t found any deals on that. I did get $1.49 boneless skinless chicken so we will be eating a lot of chicken. We are over budget $31 because I found $1.49 Heinz ketchup so I bought a years worth because I haven’t found a sale that good since last year. Grateful to go over budget on a great deal but under eating out so it works out fairly close.

I bought a few extra lbs. of ground beef for $2.99 at our Hy-Vee in Missouri.

HaHa! That comment came from me :) I was curious to see what you would get at Kroger this week since they don't have much on sale (in my opinion!) in the DFW area, no beef on sale other than pre-made burgers and they are not a deal! Our Tom Thumb has 80% beef for 4.99! It wasn't that long ago that the price was 2.99. Luckily my freezer is pretty full so I'm hoping beef comes down again before I run out. I had to get four pints of blood I'm black and blue bruises on both my arms had several tests done and stayed two days hospital for bleeding still doing it Dr told me come into there office next week and we could see next step thank you for caring about me your a really special lady ❤

My Meijer has ground beef $2.99 a pound but you can only buy 5 packs at a time,no clue why. Also my store is changing out their refrigerator sections so I found simply apple juice for .88.
My Albertsons had 1 pound ground turkey rolls buy one get one free.

Fry’s (Kroger store) has ground beef for $6.49 a pound. Would have stocked up like you did if we had it at your price.

I was only able to get cheese for 1.67, danimals yogurt 1.99, hot dogs 2.50, cereal 1.29, different chips for 1.99

Bit jealous of the store choices people have! Within a 1.5 hour drive we ONLY have a Shaws and a Walmart. We recently joined Sams Club but are limited to what can be shipped. With our long winter coming, we need to tighten our budget up to account for high heating costs. I would love to hear how you plan on some budget cuts when they are seasonal.

It is definitely more of a challenge when your store choices are limited. And good question about tightening things up for a season. I don't have any tips off the top of my head but I am super proud of you for thinking ahead and planning and budgeting for those higher expenses! 🙌
I went over $44.73 but mine wasn't meat, mine was items I commonly use and winter. Tracking does help me not go crazy over every month. I'd love seeing a butter sale adwhat I'm seeing around or over $5. Thanks for sharing

I would "borrow" from the entertainment budget since you are hosting your sister. Or I would put the meat deal in the September budget. But we don't pass up a good deal either! 😂

Just stocked up today for 3.99 lb on ground chuck instead of 6 something yesterdays price ! , im in florida. That was at Publix. Lots of great deals this month. Got lots of good snacks n chips n crackers n cookies, pancakes mixes n syrups. I stocked up. 🎉 ❤

The only store near me with ground beef on sale is Meijers. It’s $3.29/lb for 80/20. Neither Kroger, Walmart, Aldi, or Fresh Thyme have any ground beef on sale. I’m in the Dayton, Ohio area.

Going over budget intentionally for a sale item you use is totally fine. It’s only if you do so without watching your spending that doesn’t help our budgets. Our Giant Eagle in Pennsylvania has 80% ground beef on sale for $2.99 per pound too. It sounds like the cousins are in for a fun slumber party time! Enjoy the time with your family!

Not a lot sales for us (Mississippi). $4.99 for the Kroger 80% lean hamburger … not great. We did not have that great chicken sale either. 😕
And the 18 count of eggs went up $1 just today! $5.19 for the Kroger brand!!

Have you tried liquid aminos instead of soy sauce
I have...and while I like them, my kids aren't huge fans. And since soy sauce is cheaper, I will let them use it. We don't have any allergies in our family, thankfully. And one bottle will last us years! Ha.
