Thank you for sharing this. It’s very interesting to me that he was formerly an evangelical pastor and I’m going to go to his channel to find out more about him and his journey.
Talking about the interest of the Protestants in Orthodoxy, yes, they are interested but, listen to this, they are interested in the WRITTEN Orthodoxy, namely in the writings of the Forefathers and all the other writers amongst them. Because, as far as the practices, the Orthodoxy is no farther, and no closer from the REAL, the GENUINE and the ORIGINAL Orthodoxy than 180 degrees, period! Yes, your practices are that far from the WRITTEN Orthodoxy. You claim the Holy Word of God, you have it in altar of the church but, alas, how far are you from it! Let’s take, for instance, your own saying from this very clip talking about saints. You know very well, Fr. Seraphim, because you’ve been Protestant, you know very well that the Holy Scripture, neither the Orthodox one in spite that it is called Orthodox, neither this doesn’t talk about saints in the way that the Orthodoxy does. In the Holly Orthodox Bible you find in most of the epistles that Paul and the others call saints ALL the Christians. And then you know also that the multitudes rituals and customs of the Orthodoxy are imported from the pagans, mostly from the Roman’s pagans. Any comments?
Believers are lowercase s saints and then we have saints with a capital S that lived very godly lives. What rituals are you talking bout that are pagan?
@@FaithfulComforter Yes, Sir, you put it right saying that “WE have” (saints with a capital S). Because, as far as the Holly Orthodox Bible concerns, it does NOT have ANY as such. And more than that, the Holly Orthodox Bible does NOT teach to make them an icon, and bow before them, worshiping them by making the sign of the cross. And as far as addressing them with the Saint so and so, the Holly Orthodox Bible does NOT contain ANY of such custom. ALL these practices are men’s inventions, men’s thoughts, are “things of men” as Jesus Himself calls them in Matthews 16:23. And when even the most zealous Apostle, Peter brought to Jesus one of these “things of men” that issued of himself, although Peter showed the highest possible altruism toward Him, Jesus turned to him and called Peter directly Satan. We read here in Matthews 16:23 that “He turned and said to Peter ”Get behind Me, Satan!” And why is Jesus calling His beloved Apostle as Satan? The answer is still here, pronounced directly by Jesus saying “For you are NOT mindful of the things of God, BUT THE THINGS OF MEN” (see The Orthodox Study Bible). It is exceedingly important to note that the harshest word that Jesus ever addressed to someone in the entire Bible, is this one, calling Peter as Satan. That shows how extremely opposed is Jesus towards bringing in our lives “things of men.” That makes you, in the eyes of Jesus, as Satan. Then you asked, what pagan rituals am I talking about? I am referring to the practices used at burials - especially the relics, borrowed from the Romans, and all the so-called Christian holidays in the Orthodox calendar. And ALL THESE are those “THINGS OF MEN”, HATED BY JESUS SO STRONG THAT CALLED HIS APOSTLE STRAIGHT SATAN. After Constantin the Great declared the freedom of Christianity in his empire, in his zeal wanted to make everybody Christian. But his advisers called his attention that he can’t make all those pagans Christian at once, since they were pagans from generation to generation. And gave him the idea that while the pagans celebrate their parganas deities, give them a Christian name. So, while the pagans celebrate their deities, the Christians have their Christian names - making thus peace between them. Isn’t Christmas one of the clearest examples?
@@eotpatriarchs Your post is full of false presuppositions because you don’t see it in the Bible. Gospels weren’t written until decades after the resurrection. A lot was taught orally. We didn’t get a canonized Bible until 300s. You should actually do research instead of going by assumptions lol. The sign of the cross, icon veneration, etc are all early Christian practices nothing borrowed from paganism. You can read On The Holy Spirit by St Basil The Great. You search for the pdf so you don’t have to buy a physical. Patristix is a good channel on here to help you as well. Lord have mercy.

May Father's memory be eternal.
This is so accurate. Protestantism lacks respect. I'm very thankful to God he pulled me out of that sect and i found out Orthodoxy. Glory to God!

🤦♂ You are a very ignorant man. You don't know what you're talking about. My God rescue you from your arrogance and your ignorance.
