    #FrSeraphimRose #SpiritualJourney #OrthodoxFaith
    An honest and lovely conversation between an Orthodox Priest (Fr. Seraphim Cardoza) and an Evangelical Pastor (Perry Atkinson). Rev. Archpriest Seraphim Cardoza, was a former evangelical pastor of a hippie church who was drawn to Eastern Orthodox Christianity. In 1995 he was ordained and assigned to minister to the small ROCOR congregation in Medford, Oregon, US. Fr. Seraphim Cardoza passed away in October 2023.

    Memory Eternal! Father Seraphim was the first Orthodox priest I met, at the first Orthodox Church I attended (a couple hours from my home). I will be baptized soon, and he was (and is) an enormous influence in my conversion. A friend’s daughter, on meeting Father Seraphim for the first time, turned to us and asked in all seriousness, “Is he Jesus?” Such was the love and holiness that emanated from him.

    • @graceoverall
      @graceoverall 5 месяцев назад +2

      Surely, you corrected her. He, as all of us, are just deeply flawed sinners living by God's grace to do His will. Father Seraphim would have reviled, with grace, at such an innocent remark. His son, Father Joshua, is now a wonderful compassionate and humble priest at St. Innocent Orthodox Church.

    I am Father Seraphim's wife and I just wanted to thank you for "keeping him alive" through the short videos that you are putting together. All he ever wanted was to make a difference in someone's life, helping them along their journey to truly know Christ. I really enjoy your you tube channel. I see a lot of videos about orthodoxy made in countries that are not majority orthodox. Is orthodoxy becoming more common in the west these days? This is an amazing thing for me, I was born in an orthodox country in eastern europe and it is really cool that western people started to appreciate the beauty of orthodoxy.

      mihaifloares2503 - Many Churches in the Main Stream denominations such as Methodist have become especially progressive. That leaves older conservative Christians like myself to seek out a fundamental Wesleyan Church. Those are hard to find now a days. Many realize Orthodoxy is the fullness of that Truth so many may be converting for that reason.

      @@ianalan4367 Very true. I was an orthodox and I am an orthodox, but I appreciated very much catholicism, because I thought it is a historical church, an apostolic church like orthodoxy, but unfortunately recently, catholicism is being corrupted by the secularists

    This makes me so happy, I didn't know Fr Seraphim Caldoza met Blessed Seraphim Rose - Fr Seraphim Cardoza interview snippets helped me when I was seeking the Church - where is the Church? What is this "Orthodox" thing? "Lo I am with you until the end of the ages" - didn't He establish a Church? What does "Christ lives in me" from St Paul mean?
    "The Lives of the Saints are Applied Dogmatics...
    The lives of the saints are in fact the life of the Godman Christ, which is poured out into His followers and is experienced by them in His Church. For the smallest part of this life is always directly from Him because He is life, [11] infinite and boundless and eternal life, which by His Divine power vanquished all deaths and resurrects from all deaths. According to the all-true and good tidings of the All-True One: "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11: 25). The miraculous Lord who is completely "resurrection and life" is in His Church in His whole being as Divine-human reality, and consequently there is no end to the duration of this reality. His life is continued through all ages; every Christian is of the same body with Christ, [12] and he is a Christian because he lives the Divine-human life of this Body of Christ as Its organic cell.
    Who is a Christian? A Christian is a man who lives by Christ and in Christ. The commandment of the Holy Gospel of God is divine: "live worthily of God" (Col. 1: 10). God, Who became incarnate and Who as the Godman has in entirety remained in His Church, which lives eternally by Him. And one lives "worthily of God" when one lives according to the Gospel of Christ. Therefore, this Divine commandment of the Holy Gospel is also natural: "Live worthily of the Gospel of Christ" (Phillip. 1: 27).
    " - St. Justin Popovic
    “A touchstone of true Orthodoxy is the love for Christ’s saints. From the earliest Christian centuries the Church has celebrated her saints - first the Apostles and martyrs who died for Christ, then the desert-dwellers who crucified themselves for the love of Christ, and the hierarchs and shepherds who gave their lives for the salvation of their flocks.” - Blessed Seraphim Rose

    I’ve read the biography of Fr Seraphim Rose by Hieromonk Damascene. It’s easily available as an ebook and is very worthwhile reading. Gives one much insight into what things were like in 1960s America. How many people were lost, looking for a way, looking for faith. Fr Seraphim was one of those too.

    then he came in and he said, he said--this was at the time, you see--and he had these long hairs and... orthodoxy is what i knew in my heart and he had it and i wanted it. so the great thing about him was he just had this way about him, and in those days there were not many people about this way--and i said to him, i said: well actually he said to me: be strong and love, brother. i said woooooow! this is exactly what i need! and then his beard donned a black cloak and he was off. i tell you what... there really are not many like him. he just comes and goes and his beard is full of love! so then i became orthodox because it is what i wanted and he was at that time coming from some other place. his beard was tanned, you could tell, so i asked him something and he said the answer is in your heart.
