What he said then in 1982 is now so vividly real here in 2022.Everything he said applies to me a 61 year old traditional Roman Catholic.I am besieged from the secular society, from the liberal Aetheistic democratic state, and from the secular humanists modernists who have taken over the Roman Catholic Church.Saint Serafim Rose pray for us!I agree with everything I heard.I was 21 years old when Fr.Serafim Rose gave this homily.,Pope Bergoglio and his hirelings modernist hierarchy should listen to this homily.

I am only 2 years younger then you are and I was RC too. 20 years ago, I found that the church was empty, the Holy Spirit was not there. Fortunately, I heard one the RC priest mention that the "orthodox" must have the Holy Spirit and are so the real church. So I went to search and see such a church. I found one and came on a saturday evening to see their vigil. What can I say... it was and still is like coming home. I wept almost 3 hours long, it still gets me remembering the moment the service started. Come home Brother, Jesus Christ waits for you!

Asia, Europe, Africa from 2000 years ago. Protestants try very hard to hide this but God will show His greatness in His saints and world will hear and see true Christianity. Who has eyes will see, who has ears will hear.
      God forgive me the sinner...
I was born in Christian orthodox country but my life was not orthodox and i lead an antihristic life. Totally blind..... Now all i have left is tears and repentance to end of my life. And what hurts and cleanse more is love you find when you return to God. No judgement but love and true teachings. And from this, love is growing even stronger.
47 "Therefore I tell you, her sins, iwhich are many, are forgiven-for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

The reason why Jesus is considered God to so many and so little at the same time is because of the complexity similarly to the desert of Egypt which He lived and Monks like Mark visited. God is vast and simple at the same time. Most can't handle duality let alone trinity dimensions

This guy suffered a torturous painful death after years of passionate service to his creator. As I try to move closer to spiritual life, this contradiction troubles me. Its not that God owes us anything, but logic is logic. Why did this happen to this man?

  • @Southlander1000

"Kiss" does not stand for anything. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are both secular Jews. Peter Criss is Protestant as is Ace Frehley. None of them are former Orthodox.
None of that means St. Seraphim Rose is wrong overall. It just demonstrates that it's the consensus of the Fathers that matters and that no one is infallible (contrary to what our Roman Catholic friends teach!).
    The thesis is sound nonetheless.

Very beautiful but let us not forget the following information.
Today the Old and Authentic ROCOR is the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) that was formed in 1920 by bishops who were forced to leave their homeland along with millions of Russian people, all fleeing the horrors of the communist system. The ROCA bishops, clergy, and laity remain loyal to the original mission of an independent ROCA.
Despite protests from within the ranks of bishops, clergy, and laypeople, on May 17, 2007, a large part of the ROCA entered into Eucharistic communion with the MP with the signing of the “Act of Canonical Communion” and is now known as the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR - MP). The Moscow Patriarchate (MP) and the current ROCOR-MP do need to repent of the heresies of Ecumenism and Sergianism.
The smaller part of ROCA that chose to remain loyal to the historical Russian Orthodox Church and to continue the mission of the ROCA is not in Eucharistic communion with the Moscow Patriarchate (MP), the state-controlled official Russian Church.
The Churches of the ROCA remnant are present today in the Diaspora District of ROCA. The list of Parishes is present on the rocana and auroca web sites. The ROCA Churches are located in Australia, New Zealand, St. Petersburg, as well as in the U.S. and Canada.
For these who would like to understand more about the history of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) they can read the article "ROCA the Beacon Of Light" by Protopriest Nikita Grigoriev on the rocana web site.
Also, we remember that the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA) Council of Bishops in August 1983 in the person of its Metropolitan Philaret of New York (1903-1985), noting the extent of the Ecumenist contagion, issued an Anathema to Ecumenism in the straight line of the Holy Fathers, condemning anyone who participated in this heresy.
When the Church pronounces anathema on a certain heresy, we must NOT forget that it is for eternity.
    Anathema to Ecumenism (1983)
"To those who attack the Church of Christ by teaching that Christ’s Church is divided into so-called “branches” which differ in doctrine and way of life, or that the Church does not exist visibly, but will be formed in the future when all “branches” or sects or denominations, and even religions will be united into one body; and who do not distinguish the priesthood and mysteries of the Church from those of the heretics, but say that the baptism and eucharist of heretics is effectual for salvation; therefore, to those who knowingly have communion with these aforementioned heretics or who advocate, disseminate, or defend their new heresy of Ecumenism under the pretext of brotherly love or the supposed unification of separated Christians, Anathema!
--- Note: The relics of Metropolitan Philaret of New York were found to be completely incorrupt in 1998.

One thing I don't understand about Orthodox Christian practice is, Christ gave the apostles authority over the demons. Yet the Orthodox church has ascetic monks who were tormented by demons. It doesn't add up at least to me. Why did the apostles have that God given authority yet the ascetic monks are afflicted by the very same demons, and don't have any power over them? It's the opposite situation.

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

    • @lukas_jay243
      @lukas_jay243 Год назад +2

Is it because the Apostles were above sin? It is said that if a man ignores the suggestions and impulses fed to him by demons, that the demons will leave him indefinitely.
The monks however are just standard folks who have converted, and are clearly less robust against these demons. Personally I am here for this reason, I have just realised what demons are and how they have ruined me, so you end up here seeking the truth.

Being a student of the history of Christianity and having a degree in the History of Western Civilisation.I must disagree with Zachary. The backbone of Orthodoxy has been monasticism. The monasteries gave birth to the divine liturgy, monasteries were the bulwark of defense against secularism materialism aetheism, foreign religions and invasions, communism and modern liberal trends.Western Christianity has lost its monastic tradition.Western Christianity is based on the parish which is infested by secularism and modernism.Just look at the difference between Pope Bergoglio and Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church.Orthodoxybis a way of life.Roman Catholicism should also be a total way of life. But we have surrender to protestant heresy And secular liberal modernism.Father Serafim Rose was absolutely right. Now you see large elements of the Roman CatholicChurch submit and accept the LGBTQ alphabet sexual gender ideology which is an abomination.
